I enjoyed it, was at least entertaining. Map chat showed that trying to coordinate 80 ppl will be the toughest – ppl were afk on turrets making it hard job.
Nice to have a tough dragon fight though!
Same with Far Shiverpeaks, had a mass amount of people and couldnt even get near a quarter down.
The health bar on Drakkar Lake looked the same.
Well, let’s hope it becomes easier with increasing player experience!

I didn’t expect to succeed, however managing to only get 5% of his health off with a huge amount of people, fighting for 15 minutes (and yes there were people on turrets) I don’t think that the difficulty is right.
Its a world boss it is supposed to be hard! That was a fun fight and I really hope they do not nerf it. People just need to learn how to play it.
Quit crying for easymode on everything because then we get it and the game gets boring.
We also had the exact same health, this boss was just insanely strong.

It isn’t? Have you been paying attention to the fight at all? He gains stacks of armor. People on the turrets needs to remove this but most people on the turrets had no idea what they were doing.
It’s really stupid to complain about something that was released 20 minutes ago when 99,999999% of the players in your map had no kittening idea what they were doing. They will learn and then the fight will be much easier.
That’s about where we got it on JQ. My general first impression of the new version of the guy is, “Holy mother of ow.” Pretty much sums it up really.
People were messing up the Scarlet attacks at first, too.

80 people that know what is going on
We had 80 for sure got him to maybe 80%….. but heres the thing. the wave alone was wiping out like 20 people at a time. Then downed people would get poisioned.. and die.
The people on turrets were shooting risen and kraits.
We had bone wall 6 times.
SO 80 or 300 people doesn’t matter if no one is doing what they are supposed to be.
Please don’t nerf it. Do you want another loot pinata? There is one reason for failing this. People not knowing what to do. I saw some people at the turret but not enough to protect them. The people on the turrets tried to kill the mobs and didn’t even bother with reducing Tequatls scales and almost the entire zerg was hugging this dragon.
It will get easier, yes but it should only get easier with player experience.
OMG can’t beat world boss first try…it must be too hard. I hope all servers wipe on the new Tequatl for a week before we all figure out how to coordinate what is required. No more spamming 1 skill while i pay attention to something else other than the game. Thank you!

On the first day of scarlet, on the first attack on our server we made it to the last wave. Here we didn’t make it past the first stage.
Let’s learn it first. I’m sure in a week or so, people will be saying it’s too easy -__-

The problem is that they let anyone on the turrets.
You shouldn’t be able to get in a turret if you have <8k AP’s. That would significantly cut down on the stupid people AFK’ing the turrets at least.

If you fail it it’s more like -10 silver for 3 reruns and 3 repairs, plus 80 copper for failing the event. Is there a point to doing tequatl now?
Also kittening dragon world bosses are supposed to be kitten all strong. Not just stand around and slap him till he dies with no repercussions.

DONT NERF IT people just need to know tactics and having a world boss that can fail is somthink new and awesome ;P

This level of difficulty, with no dedicated raid groups and no communication is just horrible. Do we need to learn the fight? sure that will help.
However, between people who don’t know what to do on cannons (and no control over WHO uses the cannons,) people hitting boss once and staying dead, and plenty of unavoidable damage with, you know, no dedicated healers…
You just can’t really do this kind of boss with the way this game is designed… it will get better over time IF people decide it’s worth it – with all the X factors that can not be controlled I’m not so sure people will stick with it.
ArenaNet i dare You, i kitty dare You…do not nerf it. At least this kitten needs the guild cooperation, finally some challenging content, keep it up. Whiners can whine and cry in the corner room. Heroes and challengers stand up, get Your sword and do not give up!
Yea they don’t need to nerf anything, people just need to figure out what to do. It wasn’t meant to be beaten the very first time, or the second time. The main mistakes I saw was people just blindly zerging into him dying for no reason and then complaining he was to hard. Just give it some time, don’t judge content 20 minutes after its been released. The fight is actually interesting and enjoyable to me, but that’s just my opinion.

On my overflow people operating them had no idea what to do, not a single scale was removed and we had the bone wall appearing 4-5 times. One person even went afk while operating it ._.
Im not saying that the concept is wrong, but there are some people who will take the turret and do nothing on purpose just to see the others fail.

It doesn’t need a nerf. We just need the time to learn how to play it. You may not know, but Tequatl is a DRAGON BOSS, a Zhaitan’s Lieutenant, it need to be that difficult, and people need to learn how to fight him without crying, please.

With a full map of 200-300 people. At the end no turrets were down and tequatl had close to no stacks. That was people TRYING THEIR BEST. What will happen when the popularity drops when people trying their best can’t do it?

Really difficulty is alright if it’s a possible amount of coordinated people. For example if instead of being open world, he was a raid boss, where all 80 required people were on TS you might get somewhere. But he is not a raid boss. He is an open world boss, where 200-300 people will try their hardest, but I doubt that they’ll ever coordinate.

Your blowing things out of proportion because your mad. Thats okay. But lets not lie about numbers and such. We had a pretty uncoordinated group and got him down pretty far for a first try compared to many servers. So I know for a fact you didn’t have no 200 to 300 people nor did you not get him below 75% with 0 bonewalls and flawless turreting lol.
No need a nerf, no need more turrets. Is content for organized ppl.
There is more to this boss than just clicking #1. The answer is in the turrets!

Judging from that screenshot, looks like your turret folks were not using their cleanse powers to remove the poison clouds. And you likely need people dedicated to taking down the fingers to prevent more poison.

In GW2 the game is built around dps….. sad but true. Support has no role and this just reinforces that

What we need is more turrets, or a way to prevent stupid people from getting into turrets.
Tequatl just spawned and was done the second time. Take note from these pictures that his stacks are removed and people are re-running instead of laying dead. Still not gotten past phase 1.
The problem here is that you have a bunch of people show up in blues wanting to participate.
And while it’s totally not their fault the design of the encounter simply doesn’t allow for it. He has way too much health and the design conflicts entirely with ArenaNet’s stated of goal of wanting to allow everyone to participate. Either put the content in an instance and make it a proper raid or nerf his health down to acceptable levels. This is kitten.
