I think a good solution would be starting him with a triggered escort or something. Similar to fire elemental or dwayna. That would allow for word to spread and interested people could head there to prepare.

Obviously, that’s only an idea for in a few weeks when the ridiculous “new and shiny” overflows are gone. And on this topic, overflows have been annoying for any prime interested content, this isnt new. It sucks, but it isnt new. We had trouble with it during Lost Shores last november, during invasions last month, and at various points in between. In 10 days we get a new LS chapter and the overflow issue will solve itself because people follow the shiny.

Maybe if all bosses started out this hard at release this conversation wouldn’t be here.

Exactly. This conversation wouldn’t be here because everyone would expect bosses to be this hard, and most likely, the people who don’t like this type of content would’ve quit playing long ago. The players would, for the most part, be people who enjoy content like this. People who are willing and able to coordinate on such a scale and go in expecting coordination, rather than being able to do your own thing and not miss out on any open world content.

What happened in this patch is comparable to the game starting with bosses this hard, being up for a whole year like that with only some minor tweaks to rewards and scaling, and suddenly all of them getting nerfed, with Tequatl being reworked into “stand here and autoattack” mode.

Timer seems right, Countdown seems weird, maybe more of an announcement ?

@All complaining peoples: Hopefully the game is not about killing Tequatl !

Yea! No more spamming 1!

Oh wait, isn’t it still the case, just with more people? Srsly, the level of skill involved in this fight is still minimal it’s just the matter of organizing people to stand in predefined spaces and spam 1 in “more organized” way, I guess. It’s not difficult at all, you just need a lot of people being able to read/listen to what is told to them.

I like Tequatl, the timer is kinda meh, but I just hate the way overflows are handled at the moment. It’s impossible to join your main server even if you wait hours in an overflow.

Tequatl should be an instance if he requires this much coordination, not an open world boss.

Now it’s instead a sit in the overflow for ten hours and pray that your main instance will finally pop kind of game. Much better.

There are many other things you can do in game that doesn’t require a zerg and give you good rewards for your time. Seriously, why do you even play?

Just sayin.

Why did you even by this game? If they make all bosses like this, the game will be dead.

Maybe if all bosses started out this hard at release this conversation wouldn’t be here.

Definitely. The game wouldn’t be here either.

Why is that? The current generation of players can’t handle a challenge, or because of development?

Yes, current generation cannot handle the same level of challenges as hardcore crowd from old days, but that’s beside the point. The point is, that casuals cannot handle it (that’s why they are called casuals), and this game’s success is dependant mostly on them. If they were to decide it’s not a game for them, they’d leave and this game’s numbers would bomb. And NCSoft would have been quick to pull the plug.

Exactly. And the number of players that " are willing and able to coordinate on such a scale and go in expecting coordination" is much smaller than those that like “being able to do your own thing and not miss out on any open world content”
Which is normal. Most people like it easy. Very few like to lose consistently.

Nobody will farm Tequatl after they get the achievements, it takes for too much time and effort and the reward is lackluster. I killed him twice, got blues and greens + 1 rare.

If players quit this game because of the difficulty increase of “endgame” content then shame on them.

So a lvl 55 zone is endgame content now?

Apparently. All the lev 55 players there that thought it was a zone for them, GTFO, because the elite players want to make a Teq party.
