Just have to say I absolutely love the cat sounds while hallucinating under the toxin’s effect. I think my girlfriend went looking for what was wrong with her kitty 4 or 5 times before she realized it was in the game. Great fun!

I know this isn’t a high priority topic and I’m sorry if it was said before, but the search function doesn’t work and I just couldn’t leave it unsaid

I’m really enjoying the special effects of the hallucinations. Sounds and visuals are both great and bizarre.

Yeah having two cats here, and playing the game one night – I kept hearing that and looking around to see what they were doing. Only to find they were nowhere in sight!!

…then I realised around the 3rd time it was the hallucinations in game :P

I thought that was the best part of the hallucinations. I have no idea why you’d be hearing cats – it would make more sense to hear terrifying howls or spider clicking or something (they chose to go comical instead of terrifying) but it was a nice touch from the audio department.

I kept looking at my roommate’s cat when I would hear the meow, eventually saying “What do you want?!” which he replied with “Meow” and proceeded to rub my leg.

He is normally an attention kitten and talkative.

Same here. Thought something was wrong with my cats the first two times I heard it.

The sounds aren’t comical. You hear animals, whispering, laughter and whatnot.

A hallucination isn’t defined by terrifying, grotesque visions or sounds: what makes them fearsome is how unpredictable, bizarre and surreal they can be.

The kittycat noise and the giant shadow worm popping up under me were great touches.

I agree the hallucinations were amusing both from an visual and audio standpoint.

They were so unpredictable that when someone used the Jack-in-the-box sickle after the event I assumed my character was still hallucinating.

Ha, glad I’m not the only one. Last night I was playing and heard it and asked my son if there was a cat outside haha. After the 3rd one I realized it was in game. I wasn’t sure if it was a hallucination, someone using the Cat Tonic, or someone with a kitty cat mini…

I thought the spiders were meowing then I thought naaah, someone must have the white cat mini or something. But there were no fluffy kitties anywhere to be found.

Sadly I don’t have a cat, so when I kept hearing the noises I had no idea what it was.

At various times I thought it was a neighbours cat who sometimes shows up at our door, something else outside, a sound effect that got cut off, or two sound effects on top of each other, or something in Arkham Origins (which my husband is usually playing when I’m playing GW2). At one point I thought I was actually imagining it.

It was only when someone else mentioned it in map (thinking it was the spiders making that noise) that I finally realised what was going on.

usually turn my game sound off so i didnt catch this. i always turn mine off cause when im around other people and they play those stupid facebook games and those annoying sounds it bugs me. guess ill have to turn the sound on for a while til i hear them

The first time I heard the kitty, I liked it immediately. It’s the meow of a kitty that’s hungry or wants attention. Very cute addition – it caught my ear immediately.

I must say – the music/sound people they have working on GW2 are pretty amazing at their job. I really like what they’re doing.

It took me a while to realize it wasn’t one of my cats as well. Very well done, I really like how the hallucinations work in this event. Audio in this game doesn’t get a lot of shout outs but that may be because it blends in so well to draw you into the world that you don’t think about what they had to do in the studio. It’s like a good movie soundtrack that enfolds you to the point you don’t remember it’s there, it just guides your mood as you watch.

Hahaha, likewise, took me about an hour before realising it was in game. Went outside several times to check xD Thought I was tripping xP

All I can think of is “THE CATS ARE IN MY HEAD!”

One of my cats was sitting next to me when I heard it for the first time. She looked at me like, “I know that’s not my pal, when did you bring another cat here and why?”

I keep checking on my cat when this sound goes off…. please remove it :/
