New condition: Toxin!
I hope the skill will be PvE only and Toxin will be NPC only.
Nice theory, and I would love to see new conditions, but I don’t know. Something tells me there’s a good chance of it being exclusive to the Tower (that is assuming the Tower is a dungeon or instance of some kind).
The universal healing skill makes me happy. FINALLY Rangers can have an active condition cure instead of all these passives. Also, I have a feeling Toxin will be across the board, in all forms. I just hope that Toxin isn’t that abundant…like maybe 1 thing that can give it for certain classes (like how Torment is).

Toxin definition: Toxin is a poisonous substance produced within living cells or organisms synthetic substances created by artificial processes are thus excluded. Toxins can be small molecules, peptides, or proteins that are capable of causing disease on contact with or absorption by body tissues interacting with biological macromolecules such as enzymes or cellular receptors.
With thats said will this condition be like the everlasting disease that were in a few condition heavy builds from GW2 and dose any one remember how annoying it was running into condition pressure builds in GvG back then running virulence/tainted fleash. Anyone else see the forming of the trinity here? Someone will have to carry this healing skill in groups, being the “healer” so to speak.
Not saying this is a bad thing, I think GW2 could seriously benefit from a trinity, but it’s funny that they sell the game on having no trinity, then start slowly working it in later because it allows for more interesting fights.
I could see toxin/ the old disease condition from guild wars one being great ways to break up zerg ball tactics in WvW.

It’s not any different that other ways for classes to heal conditions party wide. Warriors aren’t forced into shout-healers/condition cleansers, for example.
But it does give classes that are lacking cleanse another source of it, which is a good thing.
I don’t really see this as anything new there are already several heals that can remove conditions from those around you while sacrificing very little if anything at all. ex. engineer heal turret

This should be available to all classes and is listed under rewards, which seems to infer that we have to do this week’s living story achievements in order to “unlock” it. Please people do not put this off to the end of the week and then complain when you didn’t get it unlocked for your toons!

If you get knocked out of the spring then what this removes 4 potentially devastating conditions from you and on allies right then and there so already its more powerful then the spring in a sense also what it dosent remove combo feilds can do better
I use Healing Spring, but the condition curing of it is passive after activation, and only if you stand in it. I’m talking about skills you use, and then immediately removes multiple conditions, no wait time.

I, for one, wold love to see GW1 style disease (essentially poison that spreads automatically to nearby allies)
GW1 style disease would introduce much needed counter play to “stack everybody into a tight ball and move as one,” which is what passes for tactics in WvW.
If wander dose it stack in intensity or duration i wander if this Condition can transfer existing ones to other foes making for strategic stacking of this extremely lethal even if its just like GW1 it would cause a bit of panic if its being covered by other kitten and spreads like wild fire among a zerg the only problem is that the condition is like a double edged sword it hurts u and foes. I can see this as totally obliterating a tight packed mindless zerg in wvw if its strong enough.

Toxin is not produced artificially it can be produced from living things like snake and spider venom toxins are dangerous to the touch though and can spread like wildfire that way

I had a bit of a different/random idea as well. Instead of adding another damage condition or conditional damage condition, which we already have a good amount of:
Bleed: Damage
Burn: Damage
Poison: Damage and reduced heal
Torment: Damage and more on movement
Confusion: Damage on skills
What if Toxin did something different/extra. One option is being a new disease from gw1. A different approach that I just thought up: it makes other conditions hurt more.
Toxin: X% more susceptible to conditions (they do X% more damage), and/or toxin must always be removed before another condition (regardless of application order). Just a random thought considering how in PvE are still rather weak, and it would be a different approach instead of just adding more damaging conditions.

Well if CC and condi is an issue for you as a ranger you should rethink your build. Ranger has some of the best passive condi removal and the most evades. Also I’d say healing spring is active condi removal considering you must activate the skill in order to proc the cleanse, that’s like saying Well of Power is passive just because of the clean on pulse mechanic. Signet of Renewal and Empathetic Bond are good examples of passive, and Sig of Renewal has an active cleanse. Either way I hope this condition and the heal are treated as racial skills, we don’t need this in pvp.

What ranger actually takes that selfish grand-master trait and that pet handicapped signit you give up a tone of dmg for that small bit of condition removal. and a guardian can do that even better with absolute resolution tacked on if the guardian is packing lyssa runes and Renewed Focus elite he can easy eat conditions alive

This condition is not even in the same category as agony you cant remove or deal with agony directly like conditions
I fear that, where I’d like a new condition for classes like Ranger or Thief, adding more and more conditions will require more and more mass condition cleanses. Skills and utilities which cleanse 1 or 2 conditions are slowly becoming useless because we need to take care about 8-12 different conditions at the same time. Skills which cleanse certain, most dangerous conditions like Thief’s heal “Hide in Shadows” coupled with mass cleanses like Warrior’s Signet of Stamina or Lyssa’s Runes will take even upper hand than they’re now and classes with mostly passive condition removal (Rangers) or without mass-cleanses (Mesmers) will be even weaker.

Edit : After a few months, just to make sure that Rangers stay inferior to everything else, (because Pets and Nature is for chumps) Anet gives it to all other classes, especially Warriors who will probably get it in greater abundance than rangers ever had, and they’ll put it on one of their spammable power attacks, just because!

No, it’s dazed. Except with perplexity runes it’s the best confusion applicator in the game.

I’m hoping this becomes a PvE only condition, acquired through the completion of this new content. They promised us new skills that would have different methods of acquisition before the end of the year, and this seems like the first opportunity to implement them.
Toxin could be a new class condition….disease sounds kool. But its likely that you’re going to be fighting Krait – and they are hiding something – so its possible it’s going to be in this area that you’ll be effected by Toxin – and you’d likely have to coordinate these cleanses to get through the dungeon/content. We also don’t know the cool down nor the radius (at least I didn’t see that mentioned).

Solo roamers, obviously.
If you are talking about group play, then your complaint really holds no water. People already have to bunch up for blast heals, and you will get stability from your guardians. Healing Spring is the absolute best healing skill across all classes in a group comp outside of sPvP. A ranger is worth taking for just this and Entangle alone (as long as they aren’t bearbow).

Where does it say Toxin can be dealt with the same way normal conditions can be?
They are introducing a new heal-skill that removes it, which probably means it can’t be cleansed normally – Just like Agony.
My bet is the Tower of Nightmares is a group Jumping Puzzle that requires players to coordinate well-timed uses of the new “Antitoxin Spray” in order to reach the peak.
It will probably be around the same level as racial skills – making it mediocre but with the poison/torment/confusion removal, still adequate for PvE and WvW if you’re expecting those conditions.

So another condition that warriors will probably get on some auto attack and a aoe cleanse encouraging yet more zerging….so glad they give no thought to wvw when they dream up these things.
I’m much more worried about yet another AoE cleanse, one that is available to every player at that. Condition builds already stack up poorly against power builds in WvW ( outside of solo roaming ) due to mass cleanses being easy to fit into strong builds on popular classes. Add even more condition removal and bringing a condition build will be entirely pointless.
This better be restricted to the live story PvE content.
