And I just thought that guitars specially make things sound more rock like. Either that or good drums.
But, the music on the video… just saying that guitar really ruins it :/

I’m curious to see what people will come up with, the music given doesn’t work at all with the subject matter to be honest.

Then again, that’s just my opinion.

That was rather… lame.

I’d rather have that random echo girl voice speaking in the background again.

The music would fit Scarlet’s crazy shenanigans more than the highly religious Krait…. I know Scarlet is involved in this release, but she is not in this trailer at all. The dissonance would work if she had appearances throughout the flythrough or at the very end but like this it doesn’t really work.
I mean it doesn’t ruin it or anything -it’s nice to get away from the cookie cutter music- it’s just… odd.

Put 1 or 2 meow in your video and it’s perfect. QQ

Yeah… I usually don’t like or dislike any videos even if one of those two is the case, but this was so bad, I just needed to dislike the video so the dude who put this together realizes that he has no sense for a teasing video.

And that comes from a guy who listens to metal since he’s 9.

Where the heck was the spirit of GuildWars in GENERAL in that? IMHO, another mark against Anet, NCSoft, and Nexon.

I have no issues with that style of music. I listen to it sometimes.

But..

in no, way, shape or form does it fit the setting.

I hate saying this, but what’s going on with you guys at ANet? You guys just seem to be all over the place and lack a cohesive vision.

They should’ve picked a slightly different style. Japanese RPG’s have a lot classic rock music, but the music in The Nightmare Within doesn’t have the quite same tone.

Music is terrible. (opinion)

We need quality lasting content, real solid balance changes to all classes in which we are told there isn’t enough time and or money to do them all justice right now. Still no expansion but they are spending money on trailers and “epic” rock music for 2 week patches.

I like Metal a lot. But I will be of the first to say it made me cringe in comparison to the past trailers. It definitely didn’t feel like it fit. :/ But they are trying something new I guess, and the contest. :S

the music was good, but the music together with that video = bad. There are a few times conflicting music+theme works. Like a slow motion modern war scene with classic music – works, because they are turning the action of combat into a dance. But this was just wrong.

I thought it was perfectly in sync with the toxic atmosphere albeit a little short to make a proper music video. Would be nice to have the full musical score to work with, you know; the intro, solo, repeatable part, and ending. But we only get the intro so good luck!

Liked the video, but hated the music. :P It’s a personal taste thing though.

It’s not that metal can’t work for GW videos either. Check out the teaser videos that showcased the new Heroes for GW1: Nightfall. It started off a bit odd, but it later meshed up with the video very well.

I liked the music but it didn’t fit the video. Oh well, what can you do?

As much as i love rock and metal music, I think it’s one of the worst possible music and visual combinations i have ever seen. They don’t fit at all.

Now my tastes in music might have influenced my opinion, but I have to agree the music is pretty unfitting.
