Dear Mr. Toymaker Tixx,
I’d like to officially request you cancel your Windersday toy deliveries this year in Tyria. None of the boys or girls have been good enough to receive the gifts you were planning to rain down in the cities. This has been a year of many evils: vanity, selfishness, hate, and disrespect for players and developers alike.
To bring examples of this on the table, I’ll start with both disrespect and hate towards the developers. This came with the Ascended Gear announcement and has yet to cease. There have been many names and hateful terms thrown around towards new, free content for the players that it’s all astonishing.
I wonder if they’d been happier if the Fractals of the Mists cost $5 in Gems? But, seems like no matter what, there seems to be hate for the new dungeon and the new gear. Even the new lands (Southsun Cove), there are still huge gripes about it either being too hard or useless space, or other issues of complaint. Very few rejoice on the newest real estate of Tyria.
Oh, and let’s not forget the fight endured to push back the beasts that had invaded populated areas. I weep for those that lost their lives (and lighthouses) in that faithful day that the Karka invade; yet I cheer for those that were able to take the fight to their lands a few days later and defeat the Ancient Karka beast. Regretfully, all this seems to be missed by the shouts about “unfair treasures” and people wanting nothing more than shinnies (I’m thinking there might be a Skritt plague infecting the Tyrian population at the moment).
And now we have a recent event of most unfortunate news. In an attempt to boost the numbers of heroes in Tyria, developers have offered a generous Holiday promotion of giving a digital upgrade to regular status newcomers, as well a mystical Wizard Hat (mystical because it disappears instantly when the wearer enters combat). Instead of greeting these newcomers with open arms, Tyrians raised pitchforks towards the developers about them not getting said hat, or that nary 3-months prior they’d paid “$20 more” for that digital upgrade.
“T’is the season to be jolly.” has yet to reach the ears of Tyrians. The streets run rampant of misery and dismay. It seems as if the Skritt, Scrooge, and the Grinch have all teamed up to infect the population with greedy, selfish ways and terrible attitudes.
Although some of us would appreciate your yuletide cheer and generous spirit, it seems as if Tyria is undeserving of it. Though if you’re still planning on coming to Tyria, please be prepared to haul a lot of coal into the streets to pass out.
Sincerely,
A very concerned Tyrian.
