My opinion: pop gun is humilating.
I was disappointed too, I really expected a noise.
Unlike the halloween update, where most of the skins were pretty cool looking, I feel many of skins this time around aren’t as cool in a mature, I want to look awesome, way.
Popcap riffle is one of them.
Because projectiles and sounds are weapon type and class related, not weapon model.
And I wish this would change. It would have been much cooler if sounds and graphic effects sdepended on particular weapon models like festive skins.
Had posted this a while ago as a suggestion but I guess it was completely ignored…: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Projectile-hit-effects-based-on-weapon-appearance/first#post684692
the sling shot makes rubber sound, BUT fires arrows >>
Yeah, I agree. I was soooo excited when I saw it, so I bought it. But no “pop” noise….
My heart is broken </3 lol

And here I present you with a rifle with different sound effects:

That might step on Quip’s toes.

Nothing like shooting a sniper rifle from the hip.

If they can change them for legendaries (they do), they clearly have the capability to do it here.
The previous event had great chainsword and 1 handed chainsword, the greatsword made cool noises and the one handed sword sucked with no noises. If it isn’t a greatsword they don’t care, 75% of the games budget is used for greatswords.
What does the bell focus noise sound like?
I was under the impression that they could change the projectiles and sound effects, because legendries themselves do that.
Great Swords get all the loving.
Rifles, heh, you’re S.O.L. on that one junior…
The wooden or cake skins so bad I just gave up on collecting them, in fact Wintersday is becoming a real let down.
I was a hardcore GW2 Fanboy, I really was… now I am seriously reconsidering my loyalty to the game.

Nothing, no noise either.
actually, I was also dissapointed at the 1h chain sword not making any noises but I kept it anyway and last night after the patch when i used it to summon my illusionary swordsman it made chainsaw sounds. it did actually make a little sound before when you had it out but this new one is great!
well at least you got a skin. poor mace users have been shafted for every event so far. cries T-T
I hope that they still implement the Popgun sound and animation, that they are already using on the Toy Soldiers, for the players.
That would be really nice.
It would enhance the feeling of using the Popgun greatly.
Eh, it’s not so bad. It’s more interesting then the wooden dagger at least. I really wish they would have made a candy cane striped dagger instead. But you know the sad thing? There are so few good dagger skins that I actually LIKE the wooden dagger.
Anyways, all fail in comparison to princess wand (Imma have to stock up on those and start using scepter).

I know about legendaries. The topic is about other weapon models which feel pretty simple and sometimes the sounds and effects seem incoherent with the looks of the weapon. Why a glyphic futuristic looking laser gun would make projectiles and sounds of a flintlock?
The sound and projectiles of the Toy Repair Gun in Toypocalypse would fit that style well.
Somewhere in another thread, an official reply to this was that there wasn’t time to get this implemented before the event, but that there may be an update to it down the road. So hang on to them if you have them.
If that’s the case, I want my focus bell to make ring-a-ling-ding sounds whenever I hit 4 or 5. I mean it’s preposterous that it makes no noise at all someone must’ve put scotch tape on it or something
