Toymaker Tixx - Dungeon?
It’s a lot of fun. It’s not that difficult (we did it with four people, for example). It’s definitely well worth doing.

Yah, main thing to watch out for it Veteran Skritt Gear Carriers. And Toxx is a bit beefy in melee. But otherwise it’s pretty easy. No pressure.
Make sure to smash all the pieces of the mini-towns.
Where is this dungeon anyway
How long is it?
Did it in 25 minutes easy. Pretty short.
I wouldn’t call it a dungeon, but rather a collection of events inside of a 5-player instance.
Where is it located?
‘I wouldn’t call it a dungeon, but rather a collection of events inside of a 5-player instance.’
Isnt that what a Dungeon essentially is? lol

No, our dungeons are full of super tough monsters and potentially very challenging content. The Infininarium plays more like normal open world events.
Hmm i only found the music thing, snowball fight and the jumping puzzle. Where is this instance?

I think you mean dozens of trash mobs with arbitrary HP increases.
The Tixx event wasn’t bad though, took a nice short 7 minutes but the rewards for a second clear aren’t worth it. Hopefully it resets everyday after the event moves to LA so we can make all the mini’s.

With that in mind, I wish it would auto group like the other events.
I’m confused, I was here at “The Grove” Golem appeared but no lore of any kind and when the group got inside and cleared the toy dungeon, no lore either.
Was there a point to this?

A quick way to get some fun stuff… A chance to cause mayhem inside a giant airship… Making sure Tixx’s airship can go on to the next town Lore-wise.
It’s not super-lore heavy or anything, but it’s a fun, quick, event chain.
It’s pretty easy. Not like the dungeons. I just wanted to take a look, so I went in solo on my Lvl 18 Necro (not even a full bar yet, and badly undergeared), and I was plowing through stuff.
Not to say it’s easily soloable. Mobs are pretty close together, and there are Skritt wandering far and wide, so it’s very easy to get overwhelmed. But with 5 even mildly competent people, you should just chew through. Which, to my mind, is the way a Holiday event should be. Light, fun, kill stuff, earn fun little rewards.
We managed to 2 man it so it’s easy.
Going to try to solo it now, as a Guardian.
I was able to do it solo fairly simply as a level 80 necro.
If it’s not actually a dungeon, I don’t understand why this was set up as a 5-player instance. It would have made much more sense as an “open” instance (like the Mad King’s Labyrinth) with dynamic events. The key appeal of Guild Wars for me is the ability to collect informal groups on-the-fly. Forcing everyone to gather up 4-5 player squads seems counter to that design philosophy.
Its a xmas event! Just enjoy the scenery and the work they have put in to.
I really liked it a lot. Fantasitic look to it, and great fun.
So is the Toy Frame that drops the same thing as the blueprint? If so, why not call it the blueprint? Are we supposed to find a toy machine inside after finishing it?
You guys aren’t being very clear about what we’re supposed to find in here.

I can’t say it’s that hard to read if you hover over with your mouse on the item.
Combine in the mystic forge with 250 mystical cogs, wads of enchanted stuffing, and drops of magic glue to make a Toy Ventari mini pet.

It’s really fun! Good drops too and the reward

It is when it’s worded differently…that is not exactly clear on what you are trying to find.

I was also wondering the same thing…any info on that?

I wish I could sell this stuff because I don’t care about the mini pets at all
I made the mistake of clicking on this event just to see what was happening, unlike the dungeon in the Halloween event, I am trapped and don’t know how to get back to the Grove. Is there way out of the place?

Except how are we supposed to get that many of each thing (if each city will require all those things) for each of the minis, if we can only get it once, on an account?

You should have the normal exit thing, like in PS instances. if no, you can go to where Tixx is and there is a console that will let you out.
Please give us a keyring…

Go to the Mists, then use the portal to Lion’s Arch maybe?
I have a question about the Smash The Town achievement. Anyone managed to get that already? Is it the right place to get it? It seemed that we fully cleared it two times in a row, and just did not get it. Went through the area couple of times to find missed pieces, but it seemed to be pretty cleared (and even used Life Transfer around certain places, just to be sure that nothing left around me). Any idea?
Yeah, there’sa thread for it right now.
All the trees, all the buildings, and some stuff won’t die to normal attacks. Drop some AoEs to finish off the rest.
I think they have a youtube video guide now.

Thanks, I’ll check it out.
We got Smash the Town — you have to kill the trees too, and sometimes they don’t act like you hit them. I found on my thief I did best with my 1 skill, of all things, the little pines shattered most satisfactorily. The whole thing is super easy. I did get defeated once, on my Guardian (to my shame) when I got surrounded by skritt away from my friends. But it’s doable just by scattering all over the terrain to grab the objectives, without needing to coordinate.
Instance entrance is north end of the Grove near the exit to Caledon, look for the dungeon door icon on the map. Departing can be done by the little button on top of your minimap, or relogging if that’s bugged.
I hope it resets each day! I’ve run it on three characters — only got the big reward the first time, and chose the Glue since I’ve found wadding elsewhere. I’ll need more for my little Ventari.

I just want to the character selection screen, and when I logged back in I was in the Grove! Thanks for the suggestion though!
Wonderful, thanks for the responses! I will definitely give it a go
Do you have to destroy the buildings while the mission is active (ie before killing Toxx)? Two of us swept the place clean after the mission was over an didn’t get the achievement. I’m fairly positive we didn’t miss anything.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
Oh, and if you get stuck in the instance and want to leave early, there is a teleporter out near the kittenpit (bottom level, at the far end, where Tixx and Toxx are).

so has anyone found where else to get the cogs/stuffing/glue? I can’t seem to find them (other than the one set I got for finishing Tixx Grove dungeon the first time).
Please give us a keyring…
i`m more curious why this is Explorable mode 2.
What/where is the first one?

Rocking Wizard Wars until this mess of a game is fixed…
A Dev posted that we’d get enough pieces to make 2 toy pets. That suggests the first run through will give 100 cogs, totalling the 500 required for 2 toys. As cogs are account bound, it sounds like you have to buy the others (if you want them all)
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wintersday/Tixx-Minipets
Probably best to wait for day 5 before building the 2 of them, that way you know what all the options are going to be.
Ohoni, you don’t need to have missions active when destroying the town. We did it after we killed Toxx.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
In Guild Wars 1 there were so many holiday events you could do solo, it seems like Guild Wars 2 is all about 5 person dungeons as holiday events. Where did the solo content go? I don’t like dungeons, even easy ones.

There doesn’t seem to be any other way. My assumption is, however, that this is a daily reward, so if you complete the one tomorrow, and the next day, and so on, then you would have one of each “frame,” and enough components to make like half the minis. Then when it gets to LA, I would hope that it would remain daily for another week or two, which would give you plenty, and if they’re really nice about it, it would be daily for EACH event, meaning once it got to LA you could do each event once per day for full credit, meaning every day you could earn enough for 2 mini-pets or so.
i`m more curious why this is Explorable mode 2.

It may be that these are out of order, like tomorrow’s might be mode four, and then Mondays would be mode 1, or whatever.

Thanks for the confirmation, but I’m confused now, because I’m fairly sure I destroyed everything. Out of curiosity, is it possible to destroy the “castles”, the major iconic structures that are part of each region in the display? They seemed unbreakable to me.

It really isn’t a dungeon. All it is is a very small zone where you complete a series of events. The events would not be balanced with more than five players. If this is something we had to do all the time I might chafe at them a bit too, but since they are time-limited to just a couple of weeks, finding a full group takes only about thirty seconds, and its easy enough that even if the rest of your team is so incompetent that they are barely a distraction you should be able to complete it.
The enemies are definitely not scaled to Dungeon-class difficulty, the standard mobs are standard difficulty, totally soloable in even fairly large groups, and the only real difficulty is a few Vets in there, and even they can be soloed.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be

Holiday dungeons are the epitome of fun, they are nothing like the normal year round dungeons.
If you are having trouble with any “real” dungeons Feel free to hit me up as I’m learning to tackle each one eventually. So far, I can do Ascalon Catacombs and Caduceus’ Mansion flawlessly.
As for this wintersday one, have fun with friends or alone its not that hard.
Where are these Dungeons or zones located?

I solod the instance if that can give you any feed back to how challenging it is.

About the Cogs for making the minipets: the Devs already stated in other posts that you can only get 500 Cogs, just enough to craft only 2 out of the 5 dungeon minis.
So DON’T CRAFT the MINI as soon as you have 250 cogs, first check what mini do you really want!
For everybody who wants more than 2 dungeon minis, we’re reeeeeally “lucky” because we can find them in the gem shop for a “mere” 350 gems EACH. -.-
Everyday they will add the mini of that day (today ventari) to the gem shop. -.-
i`m more curious why this is Explorable mode 2.

Or it could be that it’s an explorable mode dungeon for players level 2 and above.

Excessive swear filters are always a nice thing to have ‘kittenpit’, really… last I checked the word getting censored here has like a dozen or more uses (especially as parts of a word like here, but also on its own) that are not offensive in the least.
