Before I get started, is it okay to post alcoholic recipes here? I looked through the rules and it seemed okay, but if it’s not then I’ll remove the alcoholic version.

So I’ve been making “fan drinks” for a while (my version of fan art) and I knew I had to try my hand at sparkling effervescence as soon as I heard about it. Here’s what I came up with:

• 24 oz ginger ale
• 1 c orange juice
• 1 c peach schnapps (substitute with peach nectar for a non-alcoholic version)
• 1/2 c vodka (optional)
• simple syrup
• lots and lots of Pop Rocks (any flavor would work, but blue ones look best)

1. Put the syrup in a saucer or shallow bowl. Twist the rims of your glasses in it, then pour handfuls of Pop Rocks over the rims until they’re all coated. Beware of flying Pop Rocks! If any get inside the glasses, dump them out.
2. Mix everything else up in a large bowl and ladle it into glasses to serve.

I’ve also created drinks for the races and professions, if anyone is interested in those.

Edit: I should mention my reasoning behind everything.

First, it’s obviously supposed to be carbonated. Hence the ginger ale, which I chose because it gives the impression of rare spices from distant shores. I also added some bonus effervescence—and crystals!—in the form of Pop Rocks.

And second, we read in game that it’s supposed to be a blend of fruit juices and you can see in the bowl that it’s a pale peachy-orange. The Zephyrites recently came back from Cantha so I think orange and peach work well. They also blend nicely with the ginger.

This is awesome. I’d love to see the profession drinks as well!

And profession recipes? Not sure what the recipe itself would be but I suggest that the mesmer one includes a requirement that for every swig you take everyone else has to take three.

Preferably of absinthe.

I have all the race and profession drinks outlined but so far I’ve only tested 7/13 (elementalist, mesmer, ranger, warrior, sylvari, norn, and charr), so they’re the only ones I can vouch for. And…well, I really like them, but I think some of them might be a bit of an acquired taste—for example, the norn drink includes hot beer, which was once a common way of serving it but most people nowadays seem to think the idea is really gross, and the charr drink includes a Turkish/cowboy coffee hybrid which is very strong and kind of gritty.

I feel like I should put them all in one thread, though. Don’t want to spam the forum.

Turkish/cowboy coffee hybrid?

I am intrigued.
