Hey everyone! Aikata here with another sheet music thread! We’ve come a long way from our original thread. Then both this and the old thread got archived, so we made a new thread, but then Anet was amazing and brought us out of the archives…so now we’re back here!

Same deal as before: Look through and find your favorite songs to play! Post new songs in this thread and I’ll (occasionally) come back to add them to the list. As stated previously, I won’t be keeping a list of requests anymore, but feel free to fulfill them as a songwriter! Here are the general guidelines as stated in the previous thread.

For song writers:
Many of you will notice that songs from the older thread were written in various ways. Some used “—-” to denote note length while others used spacing. Some used nothing at all, which is fine, too. The biggest hassle came from denoting which octave to play in. While creating this thread, I saw many, MANY variances, and I think it is agreeable that to keep these songs as accessible as possible we should make notation as simple as possible. For this, I quote Donari from the previous (previous) thread:

Formatting! I, the horrible non-musician, have found the ones done in this format the easiest to touch-type and produce ( the below is not an actual tune, just the idea of how to type one):

Where a plain number is the lower octave and anything in parentheses is the higher one. That way each time I see a ( or a ) I know it is time to tap the 9 and it stands out as not being a note, plus sequences clearly show which octave they are in. And a space means let the note hang a moment before hitting the next one.

I’m voting for all the posted songs to be in that format. Also for more classical and folk. Much love to the skilled music makers who can help us all sound classy!

I also ask that we use the spoiler format to reduce page length, like shown.

That being said, I won’t be posting duplicates of the same song on the list due to character count limits, so no offense if your version isn’t picked. There’s just not enough room!

Request: Speak Softly Love (The love song from The Godfather movie!)

So far I’ve figured out 3-68768676453 part which starts 14 seconds into the video, but I’m having trouble with the rest. If anyone could help out with this, it’d be appreciated.

It was made only until the jolly part where the amount of sharps and flats are missing too much so I wasn’t risking ruining the melody.

What can I say? They’re fantastic themes, I’ll go ahead and add their titles in now.

Also you may want to remove Sakuya and Reimu’s themes from the request list, I think I recall Double saying that Flowering Night isn’t possible and that Dream Battle doesn’t sound right.

@Sawnic I tried to play The Great Toymaker and in fact only the beginning worked out, because later there are notes which just aren’t on the flute (it has only clear notes). And the second half of the soundtrack just won’t work unless you’ve got a group of friends with flute :P

P.S. To the order about IB – The Puppet. I’m a big fan of the Ib game but IMO the tune ‘The Puppet’ won’t work out on the gw2 flute. However I’m trying to find a way to play the musicbox (main theme) from IB.

Also I’d like to leave a request to those who could approve (or not) the playability of Pure Imagination song by *Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) because I personally find the song unplayable however I wish I could make the tune work

Yeah, the accidentals in the ending prevent us from playing it 100% correctly, but I think I worked out something a little closer. What do you think?

Also, about Mary’s Theme – Ib, I definitely have to agree. There’s a note with an accidental that pops up everywhere and kinda just ruins it.

The request for Peace – Avatar: The Last Airbender might as well had been a request for a full orchestrated score. Most of the song is a series of chords that you can’t really pull a melody from. I decided to focus on the main theme of the song instead and have made a video for clarification. Link!

I can all three of those a whirl in game, Oriental Sky of Scarlet Perception and Beloved Tomboyish Girl sound fine whereas Deaf to All But The Song doesn’t sound quite right, as you stated. Many thanks for giving them a crack though.

Hey everyone. Since there seemed to be no sign of the Final Fantasy 7 main theme being posted anywhere for flute, I went ahead and gave it a shot to see if I could figure it out myself. I think I have, and I would like to share it with you all.

I’m going to try my best to follow the format that was discussed in the OP, but if you notice anything off, I have also included a video below in which I recorded a demonstration. Also, where ever there are 2 of the same note in a row, it’s basically a very quick double click (or double tap) to play that same note twice in succession.

Final Fantasy 7 – Main Theme: (UPDATED VERSION BELOW THIS ONE — PLEASE SEE)

Greensleeves and Luigi’s Mansion theme are not possible due to the presence of accidentals after transcribing to C major. Scratch them from the request list.

EDIT: I see someone already attempted Greensleeves. I don’t even bother if it won’t work on the flute, but kudos to him for at least making the effort.

Song request – “The Iron Rose” by Clockwork Dolls.

If you wish to “translate” the entire song that is up to you but I warn you that it can be quite tricky and it’s a long song. I’m personally only interested in a of it that starts at 1:46 and ends at 3:22.
I admit that this song is best played with the other instruments but I would appreciate any efforts for it, since this is one my favorite songs so far!
