If someone can transled the notes for the “Final Fantasy – Main Theme” I whould be so happy
Here is a link to the song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=195QtkOJCYg
I’m afraid there are a significant number of accidentals in that song, Azurdrache. You can play the first part (0:00-0:39 in your video) and it will only sound slightly off, but everything else just has too many accidentals for it to sound right.
I’ll go ahead and post the first part just in case you still want to play that much.

A few of the notes (basically the same one every time that section of the song comes up) are not precisely correct but it sounds OK enough.

Lets see if we can get some more anime thrown in here. How about Cowboy Bebop? The Egg and I. This one sounds like it could be hard, yet again maybe not. Definitely would be fun to play though:
It’s pretty easy, actually. There only appears to be one little melody verse.

Wild Arms Theme – Flute does not have enough range for this song. It spans three octaves, but we only have two. It would be cool otherwise…

ALRIGHT. Everything is caught up to this point, and it only took me two hours.
/cry
Anyway, if you see any mistakes or have any suggestions, please post here or PM me.
Time for some new stats! The thread has reached a new level of awesome and is at a grand total of 203 songs listed! Great job everyone!
We also have 69 open requests! So much music, so little time…
And finally, the number of combined views for this thread and the old one is 37,792.
…That’s intense. As always, thanks for all of your hard work making songs and filling requests! (I’m sure y’all have fun too though.)
Special news! Starting today I will be starting a list in the opening post listing Youtube channels with GW2 flute performances! If you’d like yours to be listed, post a link to your channel and I’ll add it! Note: Do not link individual videos, only the the channel homepage.
I’ll go ahead and list a couple I’ve noticed in this thread, but if I miss yours just post it again!
As always, happy music-making!
Edit: Forgot to mention this. I’ll be trying to break down the monster known as “Various” into individual categories soon. What I need is suggestions on how to do so. Here are some categories that I’ve been considering making.
Disney
Film/Television
Anime/Cartoon
Traditional
Pop/Rock
Video Game
Also, I will continue the standard that if I have three or more songs from a single source/series, it will receive it’s own Bold Title section. This saves on character count. I will also probably also place those sections under the Genre sections as well. What do you guys think? Suggestions?

Thanks! It’s been my favorite film from Studio Ghibli for quite a while now. Spirited Away is definitely up there though. Do you mean something like a duet? I’m…actually not sure if that could work.
I could definitely work out both parts and notate it in our new “bracket notation” standard, but it wouldn’t show how to coordinate the two parts together. That would require more complex music notation, which is counter intuitive to keeping the songs accessible and easy to read.
If I wrote out the notes, you would have to figure out how the two parts fit together by listening to the song, but it would be in a different key so that may be…difficult. X.x
But yeah! More Joe Hisaishi pieces! I’ll see what I can do.

Whoa! Talk about a challenge. You’ll want to play this one at a moderate place at first until you get the hang of it. Here is the original. I tried to stay true to the variations in the melody which is why there are a few verisons of the verse and chorus. Let me know if you find any mistakes.

Yeah it’s way hard-
I have the bare minimum knowledge for music- it’s been a challenge for me to just start on getting ‘Tribe of heavenly gods theme’ done, and it’s at least paced slow enough to detect the notes- If I knew how to hear or read them out xD..
Also peeps, if you find a song listed with a dead link, please report that to me as well. I’ve encountered a few times where links simply led me to the first page and had to fix them. Also just removed “Midna’s Desperate Hour” because it led to a post that had a link to a Youtube video with notation, but the video became unavailable. Any help will be appreciated!
then start from this link to the first post!
Is there any chance that we can eventually have the front page just have the music notation when you click on the song- instead of linking to the posts? Perhaps putting credit to the side of the song of who found it/composed it?
It would probably clean it a good deal- and keep new posts here.

Like this? I originally proposed this on the old thread and even took around 4 hours writing up the code including all of the songs from the original thread. Unfortunately, the character count skyrockets to something that isn’t feasible with a 5000 character limit per post, especially now that we have over 200 songs and growing. I really, really wanted to, but it didn’t work out. :/
Having the permalink takes the user to the original post, which’ll show the creator, any important notes about playing from the creator, and also links to videos and such. It seems to be the best solution for now.

Alright- I see what you mean-!
On another note, a lot of Rayti’s compositons have more complete (and in my opinion better sounding versions) of several pieces, like Beauty and the Beast, Jurassic Park-
The exception being Anastasia, which has the full version beneath it.

I’m glad you like them, thanks for the compliments
When it comes to Anastasia → you caught me being (very) lazy when it comes to writing down/recording repetitions – I’m glad someone else wrote down the whole song including the part after the interlude. It really is a nice song and brings back memories.
Maybe I will record all my short versions of songs once again rounding them up a bit so they actually sound like full songs and not just snippets… I never was happy with those, but again… laziness (and the fact that the SAB currently keeps my from doing anything else – at all)
I’m back with yet another FF7 song, this time it’s Cosmo Canyon, by request. :D
I still somewhat consider this a work in progress, but everything seems to work so far. If anyone has any corrections, I’d love to see ’em.
I decided that I’d stick with a single octave, I wasn’t really finding any reason to switch between the two, so all of these notes are in one octave (in my video linked below, I use the higher octave). It seems to work in either octave, though.

RAYTI! We need to coordinate or something hahah, because any song I do for someone you’re going to do twice as well. :P
If the request was on YouTube, it most likely was the same person…. lol. That’s hilarious. I love your version. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I think it’s probably more correct than mine. q.q

Seems we have received the same request then (maybe even from the same person? If so, it seems you were faster than me… xD)
Here is my version of it. In my case I utilize both octaves due to staying in the same key. It’s possible that there are errors in the tabs. I have yet to record it and therefore couldn’t crosscheck my tabs with my actual “performance” yet. So if you find something, please let me know so I can correct them.

The only idea that comes to my mind regarding coordination would be a spreadsheet, where we could put the request list of this thread and mark the requests in another column with WIP (work in progress) or something similar, when we start working on a song. The problem with an open spreadsheet would be, that everyone could access (and mess with) it…

I’m glad you like it. Your version sounds great too.
What amazes me the most is, that you are clicking the notes. I could never do that (I’m too slow)…

Aye, there’s one problem. Another is that I feel like it would kind of shift this thread to a “work environment” of sorts where people take assignments and are responsible for turning them in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, we do tend to receive more requests than answers for those requests, but I knew that was really inevitable in the long run.
Also, too much organization kinda stifles the fun, yeah?
then start from this link to the first post!

Totally agree. Not that I’m not happy about being contacted with inspiring requests -> keep on doing that, because otherwise I would run out of ideas pretty quickly!
But some people tend to forget, that those fulfilling all these requests do that on a voluntary basis and whilst having a RL including job and family going on. Some of us already have whispers like “Is it finished already? And now? And now?” the second we log in.
This of course is a worst case scenario, but happens sometimes. I guess in a kind of “TODO list” like mentioned above it would always feel like assignments with deadlines just as you said. No fun there…
There will always be unfulfilled requests. The main reason for that lies in the “musicians” around here also having their preferences. I for my part would never fulfill a request for a song I don’t even want to listen to. So even if there was a list, it would never happen that this list shrinks to 0 requests.

Thanks :) I’m not sure why I prefer to click when playing the flute rather than using the keys. I don’t play GW2 that way otherwise. /shrug xD
Also — the whole coordination / spreadsheet / list thing — I was really just joking lol, I think it’d be too much work anyhow, and too serious. I think it’s cool that we both managed to do the same song, since it gives people two different versions of the tabs to choose from. I think mine would be the lazy method…. >.> :)
Edit: Oh right, I almost forgot. I finished putting together Tifa’s Theme from FF7 yesterday, here are the notes and link to video:

Fiona’s Tune from Shrek
- Entire tune is played in either octave, sounds better on the high octave in my opinion.

EDIT: Added an extra ‘8’ to the first three lines, as suggested by Lew.6014 !

Noticed a tiny error (I think). The Tengu Wall link under Guild Wars in the second post is a request, not the tabs.

Just adding an 8 to the end of the low octave parts on the first 3 lines.
I hope you don’t mind me adding to it?

I don’t mind at all! That does sound better. I’ll go ahead and add the extra 8 to my post.

Haven’t figured out the violin part yet, but I might add that later.
