I would like to request a snippet from a song for a friend of mine. The song is called “Red like Roses” from the 3D animation series “RWBY” made by Monty Oum and the other members of Roosterteeth.

The snippet I was looking at is the first minute and around twelve seconds of the song (Before it starts getting into the really complex notes and tones.) Thing is I’m not sure how easy it would be to try and take vocals and convert them to flute notes as a fair majority of the first ~ minute of the song is vocals. That said listening to the song they sound like simple notes in their own right as there is very little inflection in the voice from word to word.

Essentially what I am asking for is around the first 26 seconds of the piano notes then transitioning into the vocal notes. Would this be possible? If not that is alright, though I would at least like a reply stating so.

I have been searching and searching for Final Fantasy – The Prelude.
I would love it if someone musically inclined could translate it for me.

I can only seem to do the start… and i get completely lost…

It was a pain finding tabs that weren’t chords or strange wobbly things I don’t understand.

Works with harp or choir bell or flute… sorta.

Start from either the middle or the top with the first >
Sounds better with choir bell honestly.
My notation for this is press < to go down and > to go up because I have the second key binds set to 5-= and last two are , and . This way I can play tabs and still use some of my more important keys (1-4) for skills, etc.
Despite this, the keys here refer to the finger when your four fingers are on the row starting with 5.. so.. Anyway it doesn’t matter but I like this method of binding because it leaves the thumb to change at the bottom and doesn’t interfere as much with other skills bindings.

Enjoy the tab! Don’t worry about my rant about bindings unless you are tired of having to choose between nice instrument binding and nice combat binding.

I hope that helps people who hate having to use their top row 1-4 keys which are near wasd and perfect for certain skills. I like to play instruments but I also like a combat style binding with most combat binds around WASD so.. shifting the alt binds for instruments to start from 5 helped alot.

Yo, anyone able to make this for any of the 4 instruments?

Playable on the Flute if you ignore the interlude section. Fully playable on Harp and Horn, probably also playable on Bell but it will have slightly different values for the notes since 1 on the bell is the 2nd note in the scale and 1 on the other instruments is the first note in the scale.

EDIT: Yes, playable on bell, just move all notes down 1 (so the chorus’s first line would become 5 4567)

Does not sound particularly good on GW2 instruments, especially at the end due to accidentals. I approximated it with X/Y notation (play notes X and Y at the same time or very close together).

Yeah, I’m back from the dead. Took a break from GW2, but I just reinstalled it and felt compelled to come back to this thread. I apologize for disappearing and not updating this thread for so long, but it really just felt like a chore after a while.

But I’m back, and if you haven’t noticed, THE THREAD IS UPDATED. (Yay!) You’ll notice one thing different though…where did the Open Requests section go?

In the end, there will always be a surplus of requests and a high need of transposers. This really became a huge hassle to keep up with, so I decided to scrap the section completely to decrease upkeep. Lazy? Absolutely. Hours and hours of less work? Absolutely!! I hope you all don’t mind too much…

You know what I like to throw into these update comments? STATS! We have a grand total of 313 songs listed on the front page. Our total views, combined with the old thread, is over 184,000! Thanks a lot to the community for keeping up the submissions despite my absence.

My next goal is to organize the songs into categories. Look out for the huge changes on the front page.
