I’m getting back into the game after a year haitus and it looks like my current server is desolate.

Can anyone recommend a good home for a casual, mature gamer who enjoys a good mix of WvW, PvP, and PvE?

I’m currently running a lvl 68 human necro and so there’s still much about this game I don’t understand. I’d have a keen interest in hooking up with like minded players who don’t mind showing me some ropes as needed .

Hey Azimov! Welcome back to GW2! Lots of things have happened in the last year, lol, but hopefully you will find it all exciting. It sounds like MadCast could be the right fit for you, but there are many great communities out there, and I hope you find the right one for you and your friend!

My guild is on Sanctum of Rall, which is a high population server. We have a strong WvW presence, and also many people who enjoy doing PvE and PvP. even if you don’t choose MadCast, you should definitely consider it on your list (if you are NA!) since there are a lot of very strong guilds and many people playing on SoR. Before you transfer, do try guesting to see if we are the best server/guild for you. If you need help guesting just let me know. ^^ I will explain how.

Anyway, MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at http://www.madcastgaming.com. I especially suggest you look through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:

• We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2). Most of our GW2 members are older with careers, and many have families and children.

• We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Additionally, because we are casual our community is made out of all levels of players. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. People will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things no matter how basic or advanced.

• We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.

• Our community is bigger than in-game. We have a website with a lot of activity and heavy forum use. This is a huge asset because we have people who play all kinds of games over at MadCast, and the forums really serve as the uniting factor among people.

If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Our guild welcomes ‘Associate’ Members, meaning we will add you to the guild, you are free to use our TeamSpeak and join our Forums, but you do not have complete access rights for inviting people to the guild yourself, or accessing certain Full Member parts of our forum. This is a good way to find out if MadCast is the right fit for you before applying. In the long run, to gain any ranking position, we require people to be an official MadCast Full Member.

You sound just like the kind of mature player that would enjoy our guild.

I am the recruiting officer & joint guild leader of Free Armed Ronin of Tyria. We are on the Ferguson Crossing server and have players on every day.

We were newly created by myself (in England) & Sto Helit (in the USA) about one month ago & currently have 12 members with two further invites awaiting acceptance. Our youngest member is 18 and our oldest is 60+. So I think we can be confident in saying we are for the mature player.

Myself & Sto have been gaming since the late 70’s-early 80’s!!! So we have a lot of experience between us. Whilst I have only played GW2 since last year, Sto played GW for 6 years and has played GW2 since beta.

We have already spent quite a bit of gold on influence and have Guild Bounty open and are working on Economy 6 so we can unlock treks.

I run a 140 man guild called Mysteriax Gaming [MxG]. We run small WvW “havok squads”. No Zerging!
We also do a lot of PvP and have our own custom arena to practice dueling and team fights. Every Saturday, MxG also does Tequatl with our server.
MxG is based in the server Gate of Madness, so there is a server transfer necessary.

The Remnants of Hope is based on Tarnished Coast and offers PvX, RP, and WvW while maintaining a fun and social atmosphere in ts3 and guild chat. We don’t really have a mold for you to try and fit to. The biggest asset in the guild is the community. We have several different aspects that you can play in or just hang out with us in guild chat and/or ts3 and do nothing. Whatever makes the time that you have to game the best!

The Conclave is a medium sized guild. We do events most days of the week, that includes PvE, PvP and WvW. No matter what you like the most, we try cover all aspects of the game on a social level. We are mainly focused on PvE but I have PvP events two times per week as well.

Ecclesia is welcoming new members of all professions and levels. We take pride in our relaxed, helpful, mature community, which includes a website and forums, as well as Teamspeak. We are a no-pressure guild, encouraging players to do what they like, at whatever pace they want. We all have lives outside of the game; some members login every night, others less often.

Ecclesia has been in existence accross multiple games for over 5 years. Some of our members have been there since the beginning, and some have joined the Guild within the past few days. We aren’t a large(100+ member) group and you certainly feel like, as a member, you matter; that you aren’t “lost in the crowd”.

Our in-game home is the Ehmry Bay server where we have many of the guild unlocks, buffs, and perks already available. We are not strictly dedicated to any aspect of the game, but most of the members tend to spend their time in PvE. That said, many of us also like to jump in to WvW and sPvP, as well.

We have members of all ages, but we have a minimum age requirement of 18 (though exceptions have been made).

Though we are “light” on rules, we do have a policy against anything obscene, vulgar, or in generally poor taste. Though we like to joke around and, of course, have fun, we prefer to keep things “family-friendly”.

Personally, I’ve been with Ecclesia for over 3 years, and while there are many casual/relaxed/mature guilds out there, I’m sure there isn’t one that is a more welcoming community than ours, and it’s always great to add another like-minded person to the group!

We’d be glad to have you! I have a small but growing guild on Darkhaven (with members on Desolation as well -contact Yukidaruma.3269) that does not require you to transfer unless you wish. We have members on several different severs at the moment so you can guest over to Darkhaven (Desolation on EU) for any and all events you would like to participate in.
