Guild Wars 2

I have a wife and a daughter, a brother and a sister, cousins and friends. I love hanging out with my family and friends. Many of them play video games much like you and me. Unfortunately, none of them are play Guild Wars 2, or are as passionate about video games as I am. Don’t get me wrong, they are all amazing people and i love them to death, but it’s not like am going to force anyone to play something that they are not interested in.

This is what brought me here. This community is awesome and what better place to look for new friends that are interested in Guild Wars then here in the forums.

I’m going to put it straight and simple, I am 19 years old, I have a passion for video games, I love both PvE And PvP, but I really prefer PvE over everything else. I’m not looking to just play with someone to play with for 30 mins, and then never speak to them again. I looking for people that are friendly and i can play this game with, people to build friendships and get to know one another, that are not afraid to have a conversation, and talk about this game and other stuff too.

So there you go. Not sure if this will work but it is worth a shot.

PS. i stopped playing Guild War 2 for a while and when i finally returned, i was so lost as to what i was doing that i decided to start over. I’m currently at Lvl 14. Just a heads up.

It sounds like what you need is to find a friendly, active guild. Possibly one with a Facebook group or forum.

Things are sure heading in that direction lol , the thing about guilds is that so far many guilds that I’ve come across, at least in my opinion, are not organized and are maintained for a couple months and then many people just go hiatus, I’m not implying that all guilds are this way, on the contrary many are great. I’m just looking for a small group.

Now i wonder when people will call there second son a bison ..

I guess he meant something about the “bi-conics”. =o so you want people to play with? I’d like that too. I hardly find people to play with and so far, the guilds I’ve joinded have died or kicked me out without reason. I don’t play hours long as I don’t have that much time, but I do log on a regular basis, feel free to add me and we can hang out.

You could go look at guildwars2roleplayers.com and rummage in the guilds section there. You’d have to have some interest in RP, but many RP guilds have been around since before launch and tend to have people who like to work together to build the game experience.

Are these by any chance guilds you’ve come across when they were spamming map chat? Probably saying they do everything in-game and are open to everyone? It’s a bit of a generalisation but whilst that can be good if you like doing a bit of everything it also means the guild is likely to lack a common focus to draw members together. Which also means keeping it running, organising events everyone will want to do and sorting out the inevitable drama, is a lot more work and the leader is more likely to want to give up at some point.

But not all guilds are like that. At launch I joined a small guild (never more than 100 people) with quite specific entry requirements and it’s still going today. Even after the leader declared it officially inactive members still kept getting together for various activities and many of us are friends on Facebook.

IMO the best way to find a guild is to think about what you want from them and then go and advertise yourself, tell guilds what you’re looking for and find one that can offer it. Or do the types of things you like, and get talking to other people who are doing them and if you get along ask about joining their guild.

Feel free to add me to your list. My friends and I play pretty regularly and it’s fun. Ihave made actual friends in GW2. we’re a cross-guild (i.e. not in the same guild/s) group of 4 people with another 4 or so casually joining us when they’re there, it might be the thing for you.

If you’re still looking for a guild, it really sounds like my guild, Ember Solace, would be a good fit. We genuinely care about each other and make strong friendships. We cheer people on when they go out on a first date, wish people luck when they begin a new job, and remember who has visitation with their kid on certain nights a week.

Although we do a bit of everything, we mostly focus on PvE, and we have scheduled events every week (plus spontaneous stuff whenever people feel like it, which is often). We also have active forums where people can connect, get to know each other, and discuss stuff about the game, other games, real-life, and more.

I try to log in every day unless I have family obligations! I’m all about PVE, PVP scares me :< I haven’t found any friends in the game yet so this would be awesome!

Synergy is a guild started by some friends with a goal to create a small community of friendly players. We aren’t interested in having 500 members where no one knows anyone else. We are currently playing Guild Wars 2 primarily on the Jade Quarry server.

For Guild Wars 2, we participate both PvE and organized PvP in both WvWvW and structured PvP. Most of us have been gaming together since the days before Guild Wars 1 and continue to do so. Because of our long standing community, you will find that it is an atmosphere where everyone knows each other and learns to play well as a well oiled machine, hence the name Synergy.
