Hi, I’m Zoel Train, God Emperor of Fort Aspenwood, and I’ve been asked to convince you to come to Fort Aspenwood and bask in the glow of my glorious reign and get on the Aspenwagon.

First of all, Fort Aspenwood isn’t going anywhere any time soon. I should know; I’ve been trying to run this sucker into the ground since release. We’re also short on guilds, so everyone who comes gets to feel like the perfect cross between Lebron James and Dr. Kevorkian.

Second, we’re far too cool to care about PPT unless we’re winning in PPT.

Third, and this is the selling point, we’re awesome.

I could get into the tedious details of how we have awesome queues or that our militia isn’t god awful but honestly BOOORORRRRINNNG

If you really want to hear those details and have me sell it to you in person then I can put on my serious business face and talk to you in the medium of your choosing. I’ll even put on the serious business face, because Tier 2 is serious business.

I hate to be that guy, but please don’t come back to FC. I still remember in December you xfer to FC saying you’re going to help out and blah blah. Just recruiting people and a week later you all xfer to Kain. lol

Hi RE. Well done in sticking it out on KN as long as you did.

I recently left KN for TC, but the server is full and hard to get into, although there are some short windows we are aware of. We’d love to have the real RE over here with all us ex KN. However I am aware there are some other very good choices out there as well and it would take you quite some time to get all RE over to a technically ’full" server.

Trust me, after what happened to Kain, I think the last thing RE wants to do is join another bandwagon.

So I guess since you couldn’t throw money at the problem to fix it anymore you’re just going to pack it in and transfer now. Great attitude, really that is just top notch. I mean what was it like week ago that you tried to pay for an entire NA community to transfer. Wow, didn’t know you were that desperate. Good thing we turned you down.

On average early NA we tick around 160-200 and by 9pm EST we are ticking 210-260. I’d like to see our min raised to 200 and max around 300 on average!

Considering DB quite often ticks 400 during oceanic/SEA time, I fail to see how DB ticking 300 during NA would make T2 a more “stable” matchup. Especially considering that T2 matchups are currently often decided by 10k points.

The sense of entitlement that bandwagon servers have…

DB doesn’t actually tick 400+ during oceanic/SEA time very often. Look at the income history for this match— I think we hit it once this week. When it does happen, it happens maybe 2-3 times per match, and seldom lasts for more than 90-120 minutes—not really long enough to change the score by very much. If a SEA push does change the score (as we saw last week), DB gets focused to make sure her NA can’t follow up the push.

So yeah, DB really could use some NA help. DB’s coverage formula is such that both servers (and this probably won’t change with the new matchups, to be honest) know that they have to keep DB around or under 200 PPT during NA prime and daytime, or else SEA might be able to edge them out. If we were actually competitive during NA prime we might even be able to win this matchup. I know the tiers will be gone soon, but I’d be shocked if we don’t play TC and FA again within a few weeks.

FA or JQ. FA is unlike any other server I’ve been on (JQ [way back when], SoS, YB). People here like to have fun and we’re pretty laid back. That, and we’re a pretty stable server in terms of ranking and population overall.

Obviously I’m going to say go FA, but the choice is yours. FA or JQ would both be good choices (but I hate Tier 1, so go FA pls).

I wouldn’t really consider it trolling for TC or FA. None of their transfers talked a bunch of crapola like the DB transfers did. The DB transfers did this to themselves, and it’s a shame the original, classy DB community takes the heat for it. There’s a difference between “transfers” and “bandwagon transfers”.

Back on topic – maybe RE should go to DB and show folks how it’s done right. Anywhere RE ends up will be better off for it.

None of the guilds that came to Dragonbrand want to leave. They all love the server. Winning a tier isn’t the biggest thing. Since the matchup changes. Good fights is all that anyone wants. People seem to not understand that Dragonbrand came up from Tier 3 and all the new guilds did was give DB the force it needed to compete in Tier 2 today.

I would second the notion of going to FA or JQ/BG to make the top 3 servers more competitive or tier 2 more competitive.

At the end of the day you need to choose stability as server characteristics matter more with the new tier shakeups than the actual tiers itself. Everyone measures stability in their own ways, I measure it by looking at guild retention and how servers do when they are coming 3rd place in their tier regularly.

By those two characteristics I believe SoR is the most stable server followed closely byTC because we have very high guild retention and both have fought hard from last place in T2 and in SoR’s case T1 for weeks. However, SoR has an insanely stacked NA so its not recommended going here and TC has a solid NA as well and full for most of the day.

With these two servers out of contention I would suggest JQ and then FA both have higher guild retention than DB/Kaineng & BG and have been stable. FA is doing now what TC did months ago (being last in T2) and still bringing the fight for the most part and reading the T1 threads it seems JQ’s population hasnt diminished much even though they aren’t winning anymore.

DB owes a lot to the loyalty of its SEA crew but you need to remind yourself that their server did suffer from an NA implosion before (a couple of times) the most major one being when a lot of their guilds went to SoS; I personally look at servers overall history and not their most recent history. Recently for the most part DB has been stable but without influential personalities controlling NA from launch (Like SoR and TC have) there is no continuity and loyalty therefore the likelihood of another NA implosion is more probable on DB.

So yeah go to JQ or FA with BG being a close 3rd.

One of the reasons folks view it as a bandwagon is that it has attracted obvious, well known bandwagon guilds, like CO, looking for another strong SEA server to carry them to victory.

No idea if it will be a bandwagon or not, but it certainly has a few tumors in the growth stage.

SoR – Nope. We don’t need you. Our NA queues up enough as it is. You don’t want to sit in queues and we don’t want ours longer than they are already.

JQ – They could use you. However, they have such a large PvE population it may be tough to transfer in. They seem to have stabilized some after the last round of transfers off.

BG – I wouldn’t go here for the simple fact, after guilds transfer in, they start losing members quickly and the guilds eventually die off or become shells of their former selves. I don’t know if this is because of the community on BG or if the guilds transferring in are on their last leg. Many refer to this as the “black hole” server for guilds. You go in, you don’t come out.

DB – I wouldn’t choose this server. Despite what some people say, their community can be toxic. I got a couple buddies over there and they said you don’t want to be there when they aren’t doing well. A few of the newer transfers have really put a strain on things I guess.

TC – Great guys, but you will never be able to transfer in. Probably the best community in the game though bar none.

FA – I know they need transfers, but I have never went up against them and i know nothing about them.

To sum it up JQ/FA/Tier 3 and below.

Hate to see you guys leave Kaineng, but best of luck. Lots of fond memories fighting against you in T2 for so many weeks.

Totally unsolicited advice, but I’d steer clear of servers that give you the hard sell. Look for a good community that you respect. Whether a server is “full” or in a certain tier is pretty irrelevant over the long run. If you find a place that feels right, go there and have a blast.

I would think that Mag, JQ, or FA would all be good choices. In your shoes, I’d probably choose FA. They’re in a tough position due to some coverage holes, but they are still bringing it like crazy.

For the record, I think your accounting was pretty good. I haven’t heard anything about BG, though they are full at the moment anyway.

FA has had a history of a strong, and sometimes ugly rivaly with TC. Lately though things have gotten a bit better, which has surprised all of us over at TC. They lost a couple of the guilds that were provoking some of that, I think, and astoundingly their performance as a server INCREASED in the aftermath. I think FA is a worthy choice if RE is looking for a new home. It’s personally where I think any guilds looking to transfer should go at the moment.

FA lost some cancer and has shown up in force this week, the community seems to have shown their resilience as well as their innate ability to perform even after losing 2 top guilds. I would say they need SEA transfers more than anything, but anyone looking at T2 should be giving FA consideration.

On the other hand DB’s recent immigrants have quite the backstory and track record that surely speak for themselves Go there if you don’t mind playing dice with your guild’s long term survival I guess.

DB’s full, btw. Getting in is not going to be easy at this point.

DB is full. They probably couldn’t transfer if they wanted to…

There are always that off hour window that the server goes to very high for a short while.
Just need to catch that window, JQ DB TC and BG both have that rare window of opportunity =P

There are T4/T5 servers that can queue all maps on reset, even if for only a short time. I highly doubt the T1 servers don’t do that as well.

Kaineng can currently only queue 2 maps on reset… for about 5 minutes, with absolutely nobody on the others. Its like a ghost town during the week :S

The gap between T2 and T3 is just ridiculous in terms of population.

As many have said “Full” status is temporary. BT moved their guild to BG in 2-4 days? Something like that and BG had “Full” status. I respect others’ opinions on this thread as well. Just a lot of trash talking. I’m not putting down any other servers lol. Those are other sigless people causing drama.

I know CO is staying on DB b/c I say so and moving our guild lost us 200+ members which wasn’t easy to do. The financial cost is rediculous too and with the new matching system I think the amount of guilds that choose to transfer will lessen because there won’t be stagnant matchup anymore. All the guilds that transferred in still contribute, work with others, and are here to stay. Of course as you saw with Kaineng in T8 it takes a few weeks for a new guild to integrate fully into a new server. That will be true whichever server you choose to make your last stand.

Consider DB but at the same time consider JQ and FA. They would both welcome you and both have good strengths and communities. Both servers need your NA influence and they are a good sport on the forums. I have respect for both of them.

Tarnished Coast doesn’t seem to need the help but they are a WvW powerhouse with an incredible community. I’ve fought TC and FA for almost 4 months now and I love both.

No reason to hate.

Having transferred to FA based on an ally guilds choice my experience was crap at best, I would not wish my worst enemy to transfer there. that being said go where u feel is best for ur guild. I just wouldn’t recommend FA at all. if you want to know why, RE, PM me.
