Heh, I could write a few pages on what I ‘remember’ about this guild but you are right, this isn’t the place to derail it. I will leave it at this, as long as darkhaven is not considered best of luck.

Just wanted to say, its been months since RE was on Darkhaven, so negative opinions from when we were there do not hold weight since we have changed quite a bit since, as I’m sure our old server mates have changed too. About the TS, the RE TS was up before the kain TS we offered it as soon as WM pulled the plug on the old one no one was denied but when we saw less and less coming into the BL channels for our TS we just stuck in there and when we offered for the BL we were on we would drop down if people showed up. It’s Not the same issue as any of the other servers who had a long standing TS site. If we stayed on kain longer we would have eventually worked out a rotation between the servers TS and ours I’m sure.

The issues on Kain sound very similar to the issues when you guys were on DH. I find that interesting. Are you guys still as insular as when you were on DH? Its obviously something that can change, and would be better for whatever server you are on. Whether or not it is seen as necessary is a different story.

Going to air some dirty laundry here about DB so you can make a proper decision and don’t care if people hate my honesty for it.

I don’t think you should come to DB, based on the patterns I see it’s on the same path as Kaineng.

-Guilds that “strategically” stop playing because when we aren’t winning
-Server PPT dependent on overnight crews that sometimes show sometimes don’t
-Server meetings that end up more venting about BS than discussing the “who, how and when” for achieve goals
-Terrible “natives > transfers” holier than thou attitude.
-Several guild leaders are going to either quit or take long term breaks in the near future
-Website leads don’t reach out to guilds but rather demand guilds to reach in (which shows they are “real serious” about cooperating with everybody)
…etc, sounds familiar?

Difference is Kaineng had fewer guilds and tried harder before it imploded. Don’t trust me about the eventual drama, here’s a recent drama:

Cry Baby Story Inc. (I’m coaxing over the insults that went both ways)

May 31st – Reset Night on EB. 5 guilds are heading there; my guild had majority players so we ended up leading main zerg. 1.5 hours before reset I tried to talk to the other 4 guilds who are always in EB (despite other guilds asking them to rotate EB once in a while which they refuse and despite they having a history of not cooperating with other transfer guilds but I tried anyway) and not one of them got into TS to discuss strategy, one officer of one guild says they are going to play defense and scout as they “always do” but he’s not sure via tells. I told him it’s stupid not to know what the main zerg is doing, try to get somebody on TS or send me a tell to spend 2 minutes so they know what I am doing at least and we can be partially in sync.

At 8:59pm EST one of the reps finally gets on TS to inform me I don’t know him and it’s his purse before dropping his cyber resume which amounted to “I log online like everybody else but I say I’m better than you.” I tell him I don’t care and don’t give a rats about your history or anybody who can’t spend 2 minutes to know what each others strat is so just do your thing. After he trolls me some more and makes fun of Red Essence for some reason about how I will fail he drops a “welcome to DB” before rage quitting. They also shortly after map reset send a spy to join my guild.

Game time, we win all our fights cept one three-way we had to run away from in ogres, we have our third of the map plus SMC, plus two towers and supply in the enemy zone. SMC and our third is being upgraded safetly, we have walls already on SMC and working on gates it hasn’t been 2 hours yet. I keep getting trolled in map and tells because I am not responding to their “scouts” who don’t give numbers as fast as they like but I did move my zerg quickly to defend klovan, overlook, WC…etc and we saved them all. They are defending scouting like they wanted, I am leading main zerg and trying to adapt to their strat despite not having a full force in my hands to fight off the enemy full forces at times but all seems good our PPT is great and third safe.

All we had to do is maintain, main zerg was hovering around SMC and ready to warp to spawn based on scouts at this point and anytime we had a chance press SBI on their towers we took and re-took…etc. Well their scouts decided to not report any SMC moves to let Mag ninja it on us so they can troll me, they blamed the strategy, they blamed me…etc when it really it was a scouting performance issue. It’s about 2 hours 10 minutes into the night, I had my fill at this point from the “regulars” as they call themselves, I delayed our zerg to let Mag build up millions of ACs in SMC, I break the double team strat and kitten off both sides before we bail map.

Knowing the spy is in my guild still we get a bunch of us to kitten , moan and cry in guild chat about the night. We talk about creating our own alliance within the server without the DB “regulars” just to get them to poop a bit…etc knowing they are reporting it all back thinking they are so sneaky. Next day the spy quits the guild, all of Saturday the “regulars” furrow their brows about this alliance talk and this morning they come up with this:

If you transferred you will be welcomed for about 2 weeks but you’ll only be respected by other transfer guilds. Be careful where you end up, in my opinion stable communities are worth Tier fluctuation if they even fluctuate. Be happy with your homework before you move is all I can really say.

I think RE is one of the few off server guilds that I actually like.

Nickthemoon, CO never tried to dictate or take over anything. We silently went in and did what others wanted the entire time. We’re not even part of their “leaders forums,” we get assigned to a map and try to work with whichever guilds are on it.

Jayne, be happy they have the truth despite how drama cry baby it is. I don’t agree with most of what CO says on the forums either so I know if I post I’ll be guilty by association.

i honestly applaud dekar for posting wut he did if nothing else it shows db guilds don’t like to work well with others on the same map and that wont work in the upper tiers

I dont blame the native DB for being so hostile. After all, the transfer guilds (CO and RE especially) came in and tried to “run the show” on the forums and play as a face for the server. I’m not touching it with a ten foot pole, but I am concerned about the dragonbrand community, given how healthy it was before they got transfers. I would stick with my current home for a while longer at the very least, myself, because the new matchup system is going to mix things up a bit, and a server move seems dangerous at this point.

Let’s stay out of this and leave the politics to others.

Sounds like a real crapshoot of a place. You really just need to go where you WANT to go, like the rest of us on our servers. To hell with what they say, if they start getting on your case, tell them “kitten you, you don’t control me” and continue doing what you’re doing. Hell, give intel to your enemies to screw them over if you really want to (I don’t suggest doing it though). Sounds like they need an attitude adjustment, and to get the hell over themselves. /bystanderwhoprobablydoesn’tknowthefullstory

A lot of people don’t. i can’t speak for everyone. But onyl for the people who left Darkhaven to Dragonbrand because RE destroyed a server from the inside out.
Happened with Darkhaven and now kaineng.

Would rather fight against them than along side them.
We already have a guild here trying to run the show and it isn’t working out for them .

Why go somewhere you aren’t wanted? NSP would take you guys in a heartbeat. "Haven’t seen you send a scout here yet, but I would, We are having a blast as always. Just need more peeps! We will never be a tier 4 or higher server, but Most of us like that, playing for fun and having the chance to have small man’s or solo roaming make a ton of difference in keeping the ppt up.

I bit my tongue the entire time but as of May 31st I gave them my opinions and don’t care about their opinions but I do still care about the success of the server and majority of the people since they are not involved or as informed most likely about this kind of stuff.

In otherwords I am now a key player in the drama now which I’ve tried to avoid for so long on Kaineng and DB. I’m sure Mayoken will try to smooth things over somehow which may be a good or bad thing.

Eva, we didn’t have a chip on our shoulders that’s the problem. The natives have the chip and feel threatened by the population the transfer guilds bring in so they get all uppity about anything different. Also saying things like “the true heart” is just another way of saying “you ain’t us and nevah will be” on a video game.

DB is not a bad community – if you don’t go in there pretending you own the place the day you transfer. The true heart is within their natives, and to come into the community that they built and pretend that you can turn it into something other than that, will definitely build a rift between the guilds old and new. If you go in without a chip on your shoulder and work WITH the guilds – you will have nothing but a good time.

As much as I appreciate being called trash, I am going to have to disagree with all the sudden splurge of negativity. I have no idea what Dekar is talking about, the old guard guilds have been nothing but friendly to us, and everybody has enjoyed running with CO. This “problem” seems to be nothing but a couple people really not wanting the original RE to come to DB because they worry it will hurt the community, and a few people really wanting them to come because they are old friends. Not exactly drama city.

Either way this was a surprise, was just talking with my best buddy in rB about how great the server has been treating us. Lots of great comms, lots of great players, and lots of friendly people. We have good times.

For the original RE, good luck finding a new home.

I keep getting trolled in map and tells because I am not responding to their “scouts” who don’t give numbers as fast as they like but I did move my zerg quickly to defend klovan, overlook, WC…etc and we saved them all. They are defending scouting like they wanted, I am leading main zerg and trying to adapt to their strat despite not having a full force in my hands to fight off the enemy full forces at times but all seems good our PPT is great and third safe.

All we had to do is maintain, main zerg was hovering around SMC and ready to warp to spawn based on scouts at this point and anytime we had a chance press SBI on their towers we took and re-took…etc. Well their scouts decided to not report any SMC moves to let Mag ninja it on us so they can troll me, they blamed the strategy, they blamed me…etc when it really it was a scouting performance issue. It’s about 2 hours 10 minutes into the night, I had my fill at this point from the “regulars” as they call themselves, I delayed our zerg to let Mag build up millions of ACs in SMC, I break the double team strat and kitten off both sides before we bail map.

Knowing the spy is in my guild still we get a bunch of us to kitten , moan and cry in guild chat about the night. We talk about creating our own alliance within the server without the DB “regulars” just to get them to poop a bit…etc knowing they are reporting it all back thinking they are so sneaky. Next day the spy quits the guild, all of Saturday the “regulars” furrow their brows about this alliance talk and this morning they come up with this:

If you transferred you will be welcomed for about 2 weeks but you’ll only be respected by other transfer guilds. Be careful where you end up, in my opinion stable communities are worth Tier fluctuation if they even fluctuate. Be happy with your homework before you move is all I can really say.

The new guilds on DB are trash, ignore what they say. They moved to DB with the mindset of taking the server over and carrying them to t1. They hit a wall(TC) with that goal and now it seems they are having problems with the “regs” of DB. I was on DB for a little bit and the community there is very friendly. I still keep in touch with many DBers. Dont let the new faces of DB give you bad judgement about their community that so many longtime guilds on DB helped build.

As much as I appreciate being called trash, I am going to have to disagree with all the sudden splurge of negativity. I have no idea what Dekar is talking about, the old guard guilds have been nothing but friendly to us, and everybody has enjoyed running with CO. This “problem” seems to be nothing but a couple people really not wanting the original RE to come to DB because they worry it will hurt the community, and a few people really wanting them to come because they are old friends. Not exactly drama city.

Either way this was a surprise, was just talking with my best buddy in rB about how great the server has been treating us. Lots of great comms, lots of great players, and lots of friendly people. We have good times.

For the original RE, good luck finding a new home.

Yea I used to be on Dragonbrand – My reasons for leaving our my own, and have nothing to do with any sort of ‘Drama’ or being dissed by anyone.

I stand by what I say – old school DB is a great and friendly community, and if you don’t come in with the assumption that your transfer in is going to make you the ‘big man on campus’ then you’ll fit in fine. If you do? Well – you’ll be eaten alive.

The stability JQ has to offer is unmatched by any other server. Our community is strong and established. There is no gamble with JQ, you are assured a good environment to play in for the rest of your GW2 days.

JQ is a mature server that is well respected by even its enemies. I know you’ve already talked to a couple of our server leaders, but you don’t even have to take it from us, go look at our recruitment thread, even our enemies post in our support.
