Are you looking for the notes sung by the vocalist or something else? Apart from that, and a couple of sections, it’s basically the same as the original.

I recently was asked by someone in Sparkfly (while waiting for Tequatl) to play Terra’s theme. So I took the music from the forum, and played it. I’ve never played that particular final fantasy game before, so I had no idea what the song actually sounded like. But as I started playing the notes, I understood right away what the rhythm should be. And the player who made the request said it was perfect.

I have no musical talent what so ever, but I was surprised to get the song right on the very first try. Thanks for posting all these flute melodies. I’m saving all of them in a text file, so I can copy paste them for myself into chat when needed.

Can anyone do this song? I love it and it would be great to try and play on the flute

Final Fantasy 9 Fanfare anyone?

After many unsuccessful bounty hunts, my guild finally nailed the two targets within the timeframe and people were talking about wanting to hear the fanfare. I don’t think I need the whole thing, just the start would be fine. :]

I’m also in full support of getting Border Village Dali, or ANYTHING from FF9 really. I loved the music in that game.

I also put Terra’s Theme (even though I haven’t played FF6) into my keybinds and played that for some people, it went surprisingly well, and was really beautiful. Daryl’s Epitaph, Forever Rachel, and Balamb Garden have too many accidentals and don’t sound right without them.

Border Village Dali has a decent number of accidentals but surprisingly sounds OK to me when played straight. It’s not quite the same as the original song, but it still sounds pretty good.

In regards to Final Fantasy fanfare tracks, they’re all loaded with accidentals, so the flute won’t recreate them properly. If you need a victory theme, consider the Kirby one posted earlier in the thread, which I have in my list of songs.

I love Silent Hill! But when I tried to make this tune it felt like it’s wrong on any flute note. I’m afraid it would be the problem about the ‘sharps’ and ‘flats’ not included to our flute – it takes only clear notes…
But I think you’d like another melody, The Lullaby, also from SH.

You could just make a thread with as much of the music as possible in the first post, and then make a bunch of posts following it to reserve space, so to speak, for the rest, and for any future songs. As far as I know, editing never expires, so to speak, so you could over time edit songs into those reserve posts.

Well, I’ve finished coding all the submitted songs on only the first two pages of this thread in the “spoiler” format I showed a sample of. This resulted in a total character of over 26,000…….yeah, that’s not gonna work. xD

Fate of Sixty Years is going to sound really slow on the flute. It should, in theory, be able to be played, though.

I should note that many of the grace notes in the original version can be played without issue even with the flute’s lag, but I have not noted them here. Feel free to add them.

Is the flute’s lag the same as the horn, or is it fast like the bell? I enjoy playing my horn but it’s incredibly annoying for many songs having to tap in so many esc keys even especially during octave changes considering there is no ingame macro ability for music.

The flute has a ~1s channel time when you play the first note. Once that channel is over, you begin playing the note, and can then rapidly switch between notes for as long as you can play.

Currently, playing a note, and then pressing the key corresponding to that note again will stop that note, but you can immediately play other notes without having to do the channel again. This will be changed soon so that pressing 0 will stop playing the current note, and pressing a key twice in a row will just play that note twice (which will help a lot with faster songs with repeated notes).

If you don’t key a new note within a certain period of time (seems to be about 4 seconds) you stop playing and have to channel again to start playing.

Well, just finished writing up the code for the new thread, and we’re a little better of at 19,000 characters now. Yikes.

If anyone is interested, this thread has created 106 different tunes for the flute. There are 44 requests that have not been answered as well.
