you can buy them on the tp for +200g …. if you farmed the life out of the watchwork event you could get one for $0 of real life money

No. Everyone’s mother knows TP pricing for gem-skins is a complete rip off. Look at the wintersday skins. They were a little over 5 dollars. Now their priced at 150g. That is 15 TIMES MORE gold than their actual price. I know everyone needs to make some profit, but the gold price is just inconceivable.
Please take the fused skins out of the BLC.

I have a feeling that anyone pricing the Winter skins at 150g is going to be in for a BIG disappointment. If the skins were selling for only 15 gold before the update, what makes them think that demand will suddenly increase now that they’ve become permanent additions to the weapon vendors?

Perhaps the fact it takes on average about 40 RL dollars to get one single ticket. How many tickets were these skins again?

5. But the point I was making is that if the player base was mostly “meh” about the weapons before, they’re not going to suddenly want them now just because their “official price” has gone up.
At best, you’re probably only going to get a few bites from diehard collectors or people who absolutely MUST have the skin for whatever reason, but it’s not going to generate enough demand to sustain prices at that level.

I’m curious. What are you basing your “acceptable price” for vanity skins on? And on a related question, would it be more fair to price things based on what you want, or what others value it as?

This is just one of many responses when they released fused skins. 1/3~ of people from that thread agreed with me. There is SO many more responses I can link from multiple threads but it’s against forum rules to include profanity.

I’m pretty sure you won’t be happy if they sold the skins for a flat rate of 7500 gems.

Now that they’re re-releasing the skins they can take it out of BLC. Its not like they CAN’T do it. They did it for wintersday.

No, that question is completely valid. People are selling things on the Trading Post for what they feel it’s worth. On a related end, people are posting Buy Orders for what they feel it’s worth. You keep forgetting that this is an open market run by players. If I have something that another player really really wants, and not many other players have said item, do you really think I’m going to sell it cheap?
So basically, you have a few options. Either you buy one for the listed price on the TP, wait for the listed available skin prices to come down, or place a Buy Order and wait for it to be filled.
Going further, if the listed Buy Orders are still out of your acceptable price range, that means whatever value you perceive these items to be is much too low (and unacceptable to others).

Look, there’s no point in arguing if I can’t convince you. You basically made a long repost of what the 2nd and 3rd posters have already said. So really there’s nothing to be said hence it’s rhetoric. You can justify all you want but 75+ people agree with me whereas there’s 3 that don’t. Im done here.

75+ people can agree with you, but if you want a weapon skin that I’m offering, you pay my price. That, or you need to wait for one of my competitors to undercut me. That’s how the current market works.
I suggest that you let us Trading Post players compete with each other, and then watch the price stabilize. That’s what happened with the Jade skins. I’m sure with time, and more competition, prices will surely come down. But if there’s still a large discrepancy between your price and our price, then there’s nothing much else that can be done.
Edit – I just had an idea on how we can help you understand this situation. Think of us like stores. There are a few stores that have a product available for sale. The only other way you can get the product without paying Gems is to buy it from us. We (stores) want your business (Gold), so we will compete by offering the product for less than the other stores. As we have a Price War among ourselves, the prices will slowly drop. Then you can decide which store to buy it from, based on the lowest offered price.

I’m not sure you read my post then. You have a problem with the difficulty of getting the Wintersday skins, not the fact that it’s RNG. That’s perfectly fine, but would you be happy if they were sold for a set price of 7500 gems? If yes, then you’re truly unhappy about RNG, and RNG only. But I doubt that is the case from your posts
