A question for you Chris,
Would it be better if you took all the ideas that everyone comes up with, organize them into groups, and then have the players get three votes on which topics then sub-topics they feel are most important?
I think wvw could be based on Hockey game but 3 differents teams in the same map. this mean only 1 map. Make a limit like 400 peoples playing. Right now the problem is, we can fight in 4 differents maps but some server has too much wvw population so they get a waiting time like 1 hour or more and some server dont have enought wvw people so, it’s unbalanced. Sorry to say it but if you are in a big wvw population and get in waiting time every day, and you’re complaint about it: CHANGE SERVER. Having only 1 map could help to fix the problem, if people get tired of waiting time they will change server and make a better population on lower server. This could be a good wait to make wvw more balanced.

3. Making skill > money in the format (number of players of course matters more, but that’s not easily controlled). Skill should be a prime factor, but right now things like food, superior siege weapons and the money required for upgrades matter a lot as well. I personally would just remove all these money-oriented advantages.
If you don’t mind me saying a 4th thing, more balanced populations across servers would be helpful. I’m not sure how to implement that, however.

1. Ascended Gear WvW players need a method of obtaining BiS gear by SOLELY PLAYING WvW. You can either do that OR scale ascended gear down to exotic gear when a player is in WvW. That would help ascended items be SO MUCH more tolerable.
2.Rewards You need more skins, crafting mats, and general rewards exclusive to WvW. Defending camps should offer greater rewards. I think that using the time a player spends at a camp as a multiplier for the exp they earn would be nice (and have a max cap, of course). Also, make some titles that are attainable.
3. Anti-Zerg Mechanics I like the direction you guys are going in with Bloodlust, trying to give players a bit more power over the zergs. It’s not perfect…not by a long shot. I honestly don’t know HOW you guys can fix it, and it’s not going to be easy. I have faith tho

1: Every patch a little bit worser (Lag issues are MAIN problem at WvWvW)

4: Dont make more reward on www(you already see whats happening with www, 3h qeues, over9000 achivement pve crabs etc)
5: WWW Guilds are just wanna have fun (like open fields battle or gvg) without qeues and lags – Please support this point as first.
6: The Game calls GUILD wars 2, but all what i see around this year is lag wars, blob wars, and nothing doesnt belong with thse 2 word GUILD and WARS

1. Transparency of current game / world server architecture (specifically WvW). Let us know stuff like server load, how you monitor performance, what’s being done to address performance or lack there of.
2. Give your customers some sense that you are aware of issues and efforts are being made to address them. Issue tracker available for public consumption. Every developer already has this, just make it less granular on an open sub section of your website
3. Stop suppressing commander in map chat, you have no built in voice comms it’s nice to get non guildys in voice comms which is impossible if you’re suppressed when communicating a TS or Vent address

I would like queues to be shorter (who doesn’t?). Also, if you have a DC while WvWing, you should have a window of maybe 5 minutes to reenter WvW without loosing ur spot. If the dc happens within 30 min again you will loose the spot (cuz a not so good connection shouldn’t punish you, but it shouldn’t also punish the server, so I thought a compromise would be good) - Skill Lag
Not an easy one, I think only stronger servers can handle that. Also an icon like in GW2 who indicated your ping would be appreciated. - More Alt friendlieness
Well, making WvW ranks account bound would be still my favourite option.
Chronomancy works, I am proof of it. Now stop asking me questions. Time must be preserved!
1) Achievements / Progression – We’re important too, and when we do venture out into the Living World, those underlings should know who we are.
2) WvW specific ’Shiny’s’: Gear / Loot / Craftings etc…

My suggestions for topics are less about telling you to address ‘skill lag’, but more systems which in addressing, you will be addressing skill lag.
1) – Squads and Commander functions
Squads need to be fleshed out, we need larger squad menus which are made up of the individual parties. (Take from your fellow NCsoft game, Aion – by no mean perfect but an improvement on GW2s lack of)

Squads should be limited to 20-25 players, squads should be differentiated by commanders being able to select from a number of coloured tags. (i.e. simply having more commander tag colours than blue) The current /squadjoin name function is clunky and players don’t even know it exists.

2) – World Exp and Karma Limiters
Rough example: More than 40-50 allied players in a 2400-3000 (hazy on distances) radius results in severely limited World Exp and Karma gains – Promotes smaller forces and will see WvW become more about tactical strikes and less about zerging. This also provides smaller guilds with reward for effort and addresses skill/server lag.
3) – Revert arrow cart damage
Put arrow cart damage back to what it was originally. This will need to happen if map blobs are ever addressed. The high damage of arrow carts is one of the things which promote blobbing, it is one of the only ways to counter… i.e. Having so many people you can haze them down in <5 seconds even if there are 4-5 superior carts pounding you.
Then any smaller ~10-20 man forces are punished because superior arrow carts drop ridiculous damage and aren’t as easily hazed by that number.

high damage arrow carts do not promote blobbing. Not sure how you made that leap of logic.

1. A queue system that actually shows your remaining time or number of players ahead of you . Perhaps a way to guesstimate the queues on the different BLs before queueing.
2. Fix skill lag issues when doing large scale fights on open map or even worse, in keeps/tower/castle.
3. Account bound WxP rank points (in the style of PvE player traits, same amount across all characters but spendable per character in varied lines) to make your alts not feel useless. Or perhaps you can remove the traits altogether and utilize Bloodlust buffs for the boosts.
4. Commander pins that functioned properly for leading large groups or multiple small squads in this WvW zone (ability to change colors or something when 2+ pinned on one map. A different one (color/shape) for PvE zones.
5. Make defending/scouting/escorting worthwhile in terms of WxP or have it provide actual contribution to PPT beyond holding for tick.

Use a system simulair to this again or..
Give LA (and WvW / PvP start area’s) a message bord that:
-allows people to fill in polls like this
-gives a brief overvieuw of the forum topics with a link to the forums (like the /wiki)
it can just run in an ingame browser like the trading post and should not be that hard to implement in the game. It would highly costs some server resources. But with a game that has millions of people playing it, that should not be an issue(?)!
As for the actual topic, most things to improve have been named. Not 1 takes priority over the other for me as long as things improve and you guys keep giving feedback on those topics.
1) – Skill Lag (please consistently update us and be honest – e.g. will GW2 WvW skills be ever able to work seamlessly when all three servers are Q’d on a map and fighting in SMC? And if not for the 50v50v50 in SMC if I’m 1v1’ing on the same map elsewhere can at least that kind of skill lag be reduced?).

Regarding Skill Lag, I think you guys should add that it exists on your website when advertising GW2, it is misleading that you claim large scale battles are possible but fail to mention the dread that is skill lag (I’ve had some friends I recommended GW2 WvW to really disappointed with how skill lag is persisting).

1) Class balance!!! Warrior is way to strong to other profs. (or others to weak compared to warrior).
2) Punish cheap tactics. A server with bigger numbers (vizunah square), running away from battle, should be punished accordingly (they are not playing ,running away from the fight, in such time they should loose tons of points, just like it would be in pvp match).
3) Population imbalance
4) Lag – and the imbalance in lag for ‘passive always works, active rarely’. Makes stuff like Healing signet op (during lag).
5) more maps, or more variation in existing maps. BL maps are now one big ‘warzone’ wich big cap points, add more small stuff like sentries, mini towers (middle ground). This would give roamers a real thing to do rather waste trying to take a keep with 5 people.
6) ban more skill hacking people.
7) Add again something like the old krait lake. When there was nothing but zerging, or outmanned going around i loved playing around in the lake. It was both good wxp, simple farming and fun. Now with the new grounds, that’s gone. It’s also because i love underwater combat.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
