Bodyblocking Xera's Beam
It seems unintentional since the animations continue without doing damage, but either way it’s completely horrible for the fight. Xera is already extremely easy if you discount her various bugs, and this was really the only part of the fight that was remotely dangerous as long as your team knows how to stack behind xera. The projectiles should at the very least pierce non-player allied units.
As far as I know we haven’t seen any raid changes to make the encounters harder, but when it comes to wing 3 I would welcome any change in that direction with open arms.
I consider it an exploit and really hope it’s fixed soon.
It completely trivialises the entire encounter, thanks to the way the mechanics have been designed to work together. I agree that the orbs should just pierce through allied pets/minions without dropping the gravity well.
Body blocking happens in every game type it should be removed imo from all game types if they decide to remove from 1, is it an exploit ? No since its using in game mechanics that have been a big part of the game since launch.
Xera wasn’t that hard before people started using this.
They can easily fix it just by applying the piercing trait to its projectiles.

But this tactic heavily “uses” the minion change from a while back, causing them to ignore 99% of AoE damage. And ignoring a whole raid mechanic with a single Slotskill of one class is a bit too easy, wouldn’t you agree (the fight is already extremely easy as it is without this…well, strategy)?
And bodyblocking was never such a thing imo, the only encounter I’d instantly mention is in the Uncategorized Fractal with Old Tom (and the Asura if your team is unable to use absorbs) and Old Tom was bodyblocked with an Earth Elemental before the Minion Damage Patch.
I’ve done the fight with and without using the Flesh Worm (or Seed Turret/Healing Seed if Sylvari) and I personally don’t see any big deal with it because it is a good use for skills that will never get used otherwise. I love finding uses for skills that seem terrible but end up shining and being the best skill ever in some scenarios. While I still played Guardian before HoT, I actually found a use for all but signet of mercy in fractals and it felt good.

Don’t get me wrong I just want body locking removed completely in all game modes, so if they will remove from one fight because it makes the fight easier they should just remove it all together.

How about no? This is pretty good mechanic, and removing it just because one boss fight out of hundreds in game is beyond stupid. They will fix this encounter and thats it.

Oh how I miss the Guild Wars 1 days where coming up with a creative solution was praised by the community and Anet alike and not hated on because it makes the encounter to easy wasn’t thought of by them and is a clever use of skills that is completely within the game parameters and not an exploit.

You obviously don’t remember all of the iterations Shadow Form went through.

There is a difference between something being used for a few encounters and something being used to cheese the entire game. Plus I stopped playing GW1 for a few years while that went down.

Using shadow form was hardly a “creative solution”. The skill turned out to be too OP in a majority of situations. On the other hand, 55hp monk remained a thing till the end.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
make xera projectiles to ignore summons.
The issue was fixed as of yesterday’s patch.
