Boons /loot
Aaaaaand… BINGO!
Are you talking words?
Aaaaaand… BINGO!
if it is that easy you would think Anet could do toughs type of changes without to many problems

I’m not sure you get his meaning.
I digress.
Sure upping the range of boons could make ranging more viable but melee weapons and attacks for the most part are always going to have more damage. There has to be a balance there. So melee range is risky but has a high reward. Kiting is not so risky and takes longer. Having a higher boon range would not really change that, but it could be a pretty huge imbalance in wvw or pvp.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
I would definitely kill more trash if the loot from them was better. Absolutely.
Dragonite from elites in dungeons please.

So lets assume for a momment that this is not a troll.
Upping the loot from mobs in dungones from “non exsistant” to “somewhat appropriate” could easily tip the favor into not skipping every pack there is.
And as the gravelings in AC after the spider queen show, even a single championbag can get a lot of groups into killing them. This basically means that the reward does not have to be incredible of course, it just needs to be more than 2 claws from a pack consisting of idk. a risen hunter, mage, elementalist and illusionist.
There are more benefits to stacking than just boons. You kind of automatically stack when your group has more than one melee player.
Sometimes you want to “stack” to avoid certain skills form beeing used. Like it was with the poison field from the spider queen or lupis dome (don’t you dare touching lupi tho, anet).
Sometimes it is to reduce the impact of RNG, an example for this was Malorna in TA up (which got nerfed now, thx to anet mesmer and guard will probably become completely useless in speedrunning groups if this trend continues, hooray)…. but anyway. Getting her to stick to a wall and “stacking” in one spot allowed all her AoEs to focus in a small area, which allowed you to reflect more of them and this way deal more damage/wall.
Another HUGE benefit from “stacking” is the ability to quickly ress a downed player. Yeah, those elitist exploiting stacking scumbags actually help each other out more than they usually get credit for. If some guy downs 1000 range from everyone else, how many people do you think will come rescue him before it is too late, and how many of them will die in the process? Although TBH I think the “downed state” makes pretty much any gamemode a joke and most support completely pointless, but that’s a different story.
For a TL;DR skipping can be “fixed” if you give proper rewards, stacking can’t be fixed, apart from the obvious exploits where you can hit a mob but the mob can’t hit you at all (which the spider queen was not, just saying).
Hey trunks, any word yet on full clear of Arah P1 through P4 yet?

I’ve already done full clears of arah p1/2 with cleric gear/healer builds, a literal full clear of p3 with bearbows and they took forever, but never a FULL clear of arah p4. The best(worst) i did was a pug run where i played bearbow elementalist up till melandru, then played normally for the rest of the dungeon with 4 people new to p4 and it took about 4 hours. If it wasn’t for me, they would probably never have finished.
LF 2 cleric elementalists, 1 cleric guard, 1 apothecary/cleric warrior for literal arah p4 full clear. Need to have at least 4-5 hours time.

I lately joined a duo party selling p4 for 18g, claiming they cleared the dungeon completely. I entered, ran to bloodstone and couldn’t find alive mobs. I was so surprised I just paid them for the sake of effort.

No detonator or it didn’t count :-P

…even the legendary giants?
I don’t want to know how long it took them.
The whole point of small AoE areas for boons is to encourage tactical use. If I could spam a skill and hit the whole map, then it is basically a no-brainer spam fest.
PVP balance is also a factor. Conquest is highly area based, and in order to encourage play and counterplay, these effects have a limited range. You know, for knockbacks, divide and conquer tactics, to create a dichotomy between a highly buffed group vs. mobile and less buffed groups, etc.
Though that is only one reason people stack. Mob grouping and control, focus of player damage, and coordination of enemy attacks are non-boon dependent reasons to stack.
