This is a thread dedicated to the Citadel of Flame – the dungeon that has been there for players ever since the game was released.

In those first months CoF P1 farming was one of the best ways to make money in the game – it also provided an excellent source of rares in order to obtain ectos.
Furthermore – its tokens allowed us all to gear our characters with the fabled “berserker gear” a staple of the meta for years to come.

After the dungeon reward update – CoF remained at the forefront of player utility – providing one of the shortest and easiest paths for players to undertake in their quest for gold.
Its tokens once again aided us in gearing many alts.

Even today – 3 years after the game’s release this dungeon still offers players new opportunities and is now being used in Mastery farms for central Tyria.

I think we should all take a moment and appreciate the unique utility, longevity and usefulness this dungeon has provided over the years.

Three years and CoF p1 still finds ways to make me feel dirty for doing it.

Was there any Dev response somewhere on this like Reddit. I’m not so sure it won’t be nerfed/ deemed exploitive.

On twatter Chris implied it wasn’t an exploit.

Anyway, I too want to raise a glass to CoF. I’ve been here since the SUPER early days when CoF Path TWO was the main token farm for exo gear because everyone thought the boss of CoF Path 1 was impossible.

He didn’t directly answer the question of whether it was an exploit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if, in a few days, they banned everyone who did this and then said that it’s obvious the statement does not cover utilization of exploits.

I doubt that will happen – it could have been patched a while ago if they really were so opposed to it.

You heard it here first folks! CoF p1 is once again our bread and butter!

10 years from now someone will figure out how to farm cof p1 to level up their GW3 characters.

The thread in General Discussion asking whether it’s ok to level via CoF just vanished (right as I was about to post in it). You might want to be careful if you’re going to level that way.

From what I understood is they said it’s fine – but I think they’re trying to stop it from spreading all over the forums? Not sure.

3 years in and still cant get a Story Mode team

So how fast can someone lvl up their Masteries in CoF? Any estimation?

I managed to get 6mil EXP or so in a hour, that’s fully decked out in boosts.

10/10 best thing I’ve read in a good long while. Who would have thought that a grindy grindy dungeon path would cause folks to wax poetic?
