Almost 2 weeks and no fix…this is just stupid.

Adding to the mess, 2 members (myself and one other) just DCed on the Collosus(?) map , 3rd instance for the daily. Now the remaining 3 members need to finish that and hopefully be able to do Jade Maw. This is happening on what seems a regular basis. I can understand you wanting to be warry to kicking players and inviting friends to the bonus boss maps, but we just want to be able to reconnect to out own maps…

Everyone is still going through the same stuff… this is ridiculous. I guess by reading some of these stories, I’m one of the lucky ones. Tried about 5 times and I’ve actually managed to finish it twice.

This is getting very very old very quickly. I realize the content is still somewhat new, but the dungeon absolutely needs to let disconnected party members back in. The way I see it, this goes directly against Anet’s ‘fun’ philosophy.

I have a feeling it’s being worked on at the moment. Give it a bit more time guys they are well aware of this issue and the fix will be out soon (one can hope)

I don’t know how much time ANET need to address their day 1 issue making the client to staying online to fix , if you guys need to be advertise how to piss of your customers i can make a compilation video for you since day 1 has been done 0 progress to fix it , 4 page of complains and still no fix for it

First a group member got disconnected and we had to 4 man the next two fractals and now I Dc’d as well while on the 20 daily. This is ridiculous that you cannot go back to the same Fractal as your group. I understand you want to make sure people do not get kicked out unfairly however, for those that are a static group and are not likely to boot just to get a guild mate in, this is unfair. If you are going to do something, to be fair, you should think about flagging those that enter together. If they disconnect, they can enter the gate to rejoin their group in wherever frac transition they are in. By flagging those who enter together in the same instance, it also makes sure that others who have not been flagged upon entering, are denied thus forcing the group who entered together to finish together. Please just fix this because unfortunate disconnects happen on a daily for some, and how the frac are they supposed to finish if they cannot rejoin their group?

For me, I always see the disconnects happen when you change between zone. I pretty much expect to be 4-manning the last boss every run, and when it’s my turn to d/c I feel so dis-heartened.

hey guys, this bug is a showstopper in my book.
The first 3 days of FOTM i reached lvl 7, then when i realized a DC could compromise any effort made I just stopped playing FOTM.

there are plenty of stuff to do in this game, don’t get caught in the hamster wheel of rage

A person in the group dc’s, then when they come back and enter the fractal, the rest of the groups gets kicked out and looses all the progress.

Happened to my group today, we were on the lvl 10 for the first time (i know that’s not very high, but it’s the first time we encountered agony with no resists), so it took us a while to clear first 3 levels and then the dc happened on the bonus(chest) level, and well needless to say it was a bit frustrating having spent all that time just to be kicked out of the dungeon due to the dc’ed person

Yes, so very upset! Right at the end.

A.net tried to fix the fractal it appears but now when the person reconnects the entire party gets kicked! We couldn’t believe it after we had worked so hard.

Wow, that’s astonishingly bad. After over a week to work on the issue I’m very surprised that they wouldn’t have caught this, as it’s significantly worse than the situation they were hopefully trying to fix in the first place.

I’d like to have some confirmation that they did attempt (and fail) to fix it, though. I’m still not sure why we never see hotfix patch notes…

I have to ask, how did this bug get past QA? I cannot imagine stepping foot inside another fractal until this is fixed — it’s that central.

And after having been reported by the community, and having a developer acknowledge the issue, and to still have neither any further information nor any releasable progress for over 11 days now?

The worst part of this bug is when you finish two fractals, and have a member disconnect near the end of the 3rd. 4 manning sucks. Still, we try. Sometimes we win.

But to have another player disconnect at the end of the very last encounter (after already having to reset from scratch) and bug the reward and not let us even continue? It’s like banging your head against a wall. 5 fractals 100% completed, and ZERO measurable progress.

Frustrating to say the least. We know you guys are trying, just release the fix as soon as you possibly can.

PS. And have you thought of PTR’s? Seems like you guys and gals could use some help in the QA/testing department — reaching out to the community for testing could do GW2 a world of good — just a thought.

This is ridiculous. I today got my 40/40 Fractal achievement and I’m only lv4 fractals. Why? Because I keep disconnecting. What’s bothering me the most right now is I can do any dungeon and any game content without d/c’s, but when I’m in FoM I suddenly get d/c’s happening. On two different occasions today I paid someone to get to an overflow so I could run this dungeon with my friends on a different server (Yet another stupid issue), and both times on the second fractal of the run the game disconnected me, yet everything else I was running did not get disconnected or even get a connection glitch.

I’m fed up of not being able to run this. I’m fed up of letting my friends down because they have to 4 man a run AGAIN.

I can not understand, for the life of me, why none of this was addressed BEFORE it went live.

It’s an amazing dungeon and I really like it but this is butchering all of the fun I could have from it. This so called fix really needs to be applied soon, if not then two weeks ago.

If there’s no way round allowing d/c’s to re-enter without also giving people the ability to join a fractal late when they had not been in it before, just make each fractal seperate from one another, rather than 3 in a go without breaks. With some sort of secondary token system to allow for a bonus/chest fractal round.

Still no fix, maybe an update on how long before it is fixed would be helpful and less frustrating to players!

Today I discovered that they compress a lot (IF not all) fractals in the same map. When I was doing the swamp fractal I leave my turrets behind. When i entered the azuran fractal my turrets were all in use, were needed to explode them to use again. Then in jade maw i got a strange glitch, i got down ALL the way thru the map, and dying only when i moved. This is what i saw…

I believe that´s the problem. For someone to reload on the same spot when got DC, it can lead to new bugs, people being stuck on other fractals and their friends being stuck with him in another checkpoint. This will be a real pain in the kitten.

Yesterday we had THREE players dc at 3rd fractal, quite fun deffo waste hours finding people, doing a fractal, and dc. All left obiouvsly, disappointed after the long path and waste of time.

Waste of time as for now. Ppl get dc, can’t go in, we can’t end it in 3 man, precious time WASTED.

Disappointed as hell.

Next patch when? I dont know about the rest of you but if I truly had a fix for something so game breaking for so many on a major new piece of content I would hot fix it the minute after I knew it worked. That or I might think the word soon lasted nearly 2 weeks so now lets bs them with the phrase next patch. Just saying……

I just DCed on Jade Maw. It is frustrating to say the least that you can’t go back inside. Just wasted another hour. Very frustrating and this must be fixed soon. This is a priority fix.

They said it should be fixed in the next patch.
Now the problem is : when is the next patch ? Considering we had nothing this week, I fear we should wait until 14th December >_<

I’m actually confused why a hotfix can’t fix this issue… I mean, it’s not like they haven’t done it before. The first week of launch they had freaking fixes every 3 hours.

I straight up quit the game for about a week and a half now because of this. Feels pretty good after this the capstone of all the kittenyness Anet created recently. I think I might stop playing for good. My only regret is that my $60.00 went to liars. No you cant have my stuff, will prob send it to a friend that for some reason still wants to play.

ok so 2 weeks, and my 2nd time getting disconnected. where the hell is the fix? actively trying to fix the bug? i call bullkitten. if it’s that hard hire more staff that CAN work on the problems that exist.

I like the fractlas a lot but if only the DC issue had been fixed..creates a lot of misunderstandings and confusions.

Did anyone in Anet actually test this before releasing? This is really a gamebraking and very frustrating bug.

Found a group after 15 minutes today, all good. Then party member left, can’t invite anyone. It’s okay, I’ll try my luck later.

Finish 1 fractal, party member d/c. That’s cool, it was only after 1, lets restart.
Retry, finish 2 fractals, guess what? YES d/c, can’t go on.

But please, do not release content that is not finished/tested, or at least fix it faster. It has been 2 weeks and I for sure won’t log in for a week after this waste of time in game.

Today: Fractal lvl 12
1st Fractal Cat-Robot, went fine no one disconnected.
2nd Fractal Charr, someone disconnects just as first gate goes down. We 4 man the rest of it with multiple wipes but we did it.
3rd Fractal Dredge, I use a repair canister, get fatal error message, come back and someone else got a game crash too.

• Within one run, 3 people disconnected or crashed, ruining the group.

This is worst then how long it took George W. Bush to help out people in Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina.

Seriously. It’s got to the point where I don’t even want to run it because of fear of wasting an hour or two on a dungeon that will not be finished, thus wasting time because Arenanet’s programmers and/or debuggers are too busy playing WoW or something to fix this.

This happened to me too the other day… Power went out right before killing the last boss. I was like… well, that sucks for my group. I can’t get back in, they can’t get a replacement…
It also happened to me in a different way.. I’ve been enjoying playing Guild Wars 2 more casually that other MMOs I have played in the past.
I want to leave during a fractal? Get yelled at by everyone and ruin their experience because they have to restart completely to refill the spot.
I don’t even want to try fractals anymore because of this They seem really cool, but I don’t always have the time, nor do I feel like, running 10 dungeons back to back.

recently got disconnected 2x with 2 different party. After that, I just closed the gw2 client and hopefully get back when the fix is done. This is really frustrating to be honest.

It didn’t happen to me, but 1 person got dc’ed from fractals 10 SECONDS before the last chest (jade maw 22), needless to say, I felt bad for him

jonathan sharp informed the pvp community that they will fix the endless loading screen bug on monday.
if we are lucky thats a big patch day and we get the dc issue fixed aswell.

15 days ago “we’re working on a fix”…. SERIOUSLY? come on. I cant wait any longer. this is SO frustrating.

majority of the issues are with the GW2 client, and not players’ hardware or connection. When conditions are met, the client crashes. I can replicate an elementalist crash (by switching attainments and spamming certain skill combos) and the crash can happen in WVW, dungeons, fotm, anywhere.

These crashes, given annoying, weren’t big problems, just start up the client again and rejoin, and try not to do those things unless absolutely necessary. It is however, a whole different animal when comes to fotm, since crashing meant resetting yours, as well as your party’s entire progression (at higher levels).

I can see why they are having trouble fixing this. The instance/dungeon is created on the home server of the player who initiated, and all the players in the party were temporarily tagged to that server (a temp session ID or w/e), and allow players to go from one server to another freely and individually (which is essentially what a fix would call for) is a whole new set of protocols and probably not exactly simple to implement.

Regardless. This issue really needs to be fixed, however easy or difficult that would be.

Problem is by now a lot of people have moved up the fractal scale a lot. As many players have moved on to fractal lvls 10+ it is getting progressively harder to create parties at lower scales. The longer this bug is present the more frustrating it will be for players most hit by this issue to catch up. It already takes well over an hour to create a low level fractal party.

This illustrates one of the most annoying aspects of the design of FotM; that it breaks the player base up into small groups unnecessarily. Coupled with the problem that losing a player to DC, CTD, or just plain quitting can mean derailing the entire enterprise, FotM really doesn’t look like a good direction for GW2 at all.

My cynical take on this: Anet doesn’t want to fix the DC issue quickly because it effectively reduces the amount of players in the higher fractal difficulty tiers, thereby reducing the number of ascended items earned.

My concern: They lack the ability to deploy hotfixes for issues like this so waiting weeks between large updates will become the norm for major bug fixes.

I feel everyone’s pain, just happened to me as I was on the even level boss stage. 2-3 hours wasted.

Time wasted = priority issue for players/customers.

Hopefully the fix is on the way!

I was about to quote that. Really, this is kind of pathetic.

Just disconnected on last phase in the maw, awesome that they havent fixed the problem yet!

I find these dc’s extremely frustrating. At upper 20’s, it’s getting harder to find a group, and I feel like I’m wasting like two hours finding the group plus progressing through two of the fracts just to get dc on the last fract. I’ve dc’ed like 5 times on the 3rd fractals in the last two days (especially the Ascalon one, I usually get internet lag during the courtyard then dc) plus various dc’s on others.

Patch today still haven’t fixed the issue of not getting back…please kill me now. I guess that would be 2 more weeks of wait.

And i bet it will be just a bandage. There will still be no way to come back…Hrouda, pls, tell us that the fix will let us come back to the dungeon… If you are that worried with people that will abuse this, just make them come back to the same instance the party is. Or make them come back dead, or add a timer to kick them out like in GW1.

We’ve posted about this in other places, but I will post it here.

We are aware of this bug and have a fix for it. The next patch should remedy this issue.

They are too busy fixing exploits to bother fixing the actual fractal system/lfg system/core mechanics.

Well there ya go Exploit thread. Way to delay fixes for important stuff.

And even then, they didn’t fix exploits. Lots of exploits still in the Ascalon map and they made Cliffside literately impossible to complete.

I entered FOTM first with my group of 5, lvl 8. I d/ced at the jade maw, re connected, re-entered the dungeon, ported to the jade maw map and everyone in that map got kicked back to lions arch.
