Dungeon-NPCs are a Plague!
NPC summon grubs at lupicus during the phase shift p1/p2…..
Horrible, would be glad to have a option to sacrifice her.
It’s easy to kill the npc , just go the champion warrior room , NPC will follow you , and bang they will take her for dinner
death until you used a WP
Well you said you ‘re a thief ? Maybe you can try shadowstep to the middle and then shadow return . NPC don’t have those mad ninja skills , she should be dead .

…Until she decides to port back to you and pull the whole cursed room on your party. LEEEEEEEeeeroy!
Seriously though, I agree.
Just in AC I can already think of a ton of problems:
- AC p3 has bugged out twice so far because we left the NPCs dead behind (they way I always wish they were!) and waypointed away, and the blockade wasn’t opened for the final boss.
- Warmaster Grast has wiped my parties 2 times at Colossus Rumblus by pulling all the breeders on the party (he teleported to us and ran back to fight the breeders later, died, the breeders came at us).
- Detha has bugged out at endboss 2 times, you have to get her killed by pulling mobs and res her for the dungeon to proceed.
And then generally:
- You can never Shadow Ref. the party with the NPC alive because it keeps the monsters’ agro until the 12s runs out.
- NPCs often decide to try and solo a mob and you cannot interact with them to proceed until they die or you kill their target (Magg, Hodgins, I’m looking at you).
- NPCs pull bosses and mobs out of their intended spots by not properly positioning themselves (ie. not stacking).
- Wiping somewhere or reseting and then ressing the NPC results in the NPC running back in there and pulling everything back at the unsuspecting party.
Fractals is the dungeon done right. No disgusting and annoying NPCs, dialog through transmitter thingie.

Yissa is one tough girl. Managed to stay through like a half of Lupicus p2 in one of my terrible solos, not even kidding there.
So npc’s respawn after cutscenes. So when I used to solo lupicus I would pop the lupi cutscene, then get her killed and she wouldn’t follow me after I waypointed unless I talked to her.
Has anyone ever done a high level (48+) ascalon fractal without the charr NPC’s? It feels like that fractal is actually designed around having them, but it’s quite possible that people (such as me) have just gotten used to using them as a crutch.
Also; RANDAL CAN DIE IN A FIRE
Varra op.
Jennah pro tank!
“GW2’s PvE is almost as bad as the PvP.”

Wow…Separatists are stupid.
On topic, I’m surprised no one mentioned Agent Spire. Although, most groups I join kill the champion wolf now…
“I’ve never failed a mission, I won’t fail this one.” (Runs back to the wolves and dies)
“You’ve clearly never had any other missions.”

I imagine it would be possible to 5 man the instance. However, the instance is pretty much designed around keeping the NPCs alive. They’re what make the instance soloable even at level 79 (in a somewhat reasonable time), and they also make the defend event at the end much easier if you’re doing it properly.

How would I know where to go without the NPC’s help though? NPC’s in the dungeon is a more immersive experience, especially when I can talk to them throughout the run.
tl;dr; I love NPC’s in dungeons.

The meta is changing at an alarming rate!
It would be nice if you could talk to them and give them a wait here command. Then they would stay in that spot until you picked them up, found a cut scene, or used a WP
The NPC in Arah p3 is sooo annoying. My friend and I were duoing. We got to the room where you pass the orbs and were planning to skip the gorillas. Everything went smoothly until the 2nd (longer) part. I tried to press F to grab the orb, then, OUT OF NOWHERE, this stupid npc runs RIGHT ON TOP of the freaking orb, making me talk to her instead of grabbing the orb. This slowed things down quite a bit and the gorillas managed to hit me (putting me in combat and thus making me unable to get ooc regen).
