its not about the exploit fix, its about the waypoint being unable to be used. its not the case where we are ress-rushing or wtv its called, but sometimes ress is just impossible in certain situations especially guiding new players. how can people learn when things are set to be at elite mode and they are “barely legal”?

i dont really see the point in all this tho, i wouldn’t have said anything on the forums and stayed as a mute all the time if i had the choice but for Christ sakes, cant they just make an elite dungeon mode instead of ruining the fun for another group of people?

people learn and advance slowly in steps, as you have learned before all those patches that have occurred. if this was implemented from the start, i got nothing to say, everyone started the same. but changing it half way is just.. sigh..

do you remember your own first ac run? cm run? coe or arah? imagine if you cant wp, you dont see anything. there is no “experience” in that staying dead.

Actually I was really disappointed about mid way through my first AC run when I realized there was no way to fail the dungeon, it was just auto reward on a time sync… I stopped doing Dungeons for a long time because of that.

I would have to agree with you. Death in an unfortunate circumstance or bad luck sucks. But there are ideas out there that were thrown in from a lot of players for inserting a hard mode or something. And it is good you said something… all opinions can make this game awesome.

maybe you are in a decent group try for once takin all 4 or maybe 4 man it with another 3 peeps with sub 500 achievement points then you will feel the sting.

also to add, ac is for lv35 peeps, ive done ac with a lv30 toon before with 3 others at lv35 and 40 and one at lv80 suceeded and it was fine but everyone is experienced with it.

compared to a group of 5 people at lv80 with sub 700 achievement points x4, you will feel the bitter sting of failure

also the forced kills at ac, we cant skip stuff anymore making it a pain. i dont know how or what you think but doing ac over 300 times is abit too much repetition. nothing is dynamic, the world ingame is not “realistic”.

when i say that, i mean that its fake, we cannot stand on cliffs to attack things, we cannot hide and attack. nothing like wvw or tactical use.

there are no terrain advantages, no out of the box thinking allowed.

sigh.

Lol, well no argument from me that experience (or skill) trumps level and gear any day of the week.

My problem at the time was the sudden realization that if everyone just ran in, hit the boss once, died, resed, and ran back, we would eventually clear the content… naked, without engaging a single brain cell in the process.

so yeah, well thats what im trying to say. its not just about me or the old farts ingame that knows everything too well. its all about the new players that are trying to understand the content.

the changes are more less like punishing the new players because they are new and virgin. how long will they take to succeed? would they have the patience to wait and learn?

i don’t care who is playing honestly, i just want people to play with when i am online. heck, you wouldn’t wanna be online if there is nothing to do ingame would you? or maybe switch to a different game.

every early bird ingame have either made their gold and stuff via early mystic forge precursor “magic” or orr maps “bigbob’s” version of loots. the new players now actually suffer from inflation of item prices and etc. and also alot of rich players are manipulating the blacklion market “TP”. newbies aint surviving well, instead they are pretty much farming for the rich people. rich peeps stay rich, the poor works like kitten.

have you notice the sharp decline on gw2lfg for dungeons? those players with 400 – 800 achievement points, some with green gears or rares, go in, die, a few times, and they go offline.

Do you have proof of this? Or are you just making assumptions?

The way I play, especially with newcomers, is to essentially ‘baby’ them. Not outwardly, but I tend to aim to support when someone is new to dungeons and I always go to rez them when they go down or die. Why? Because then it teaches them that every party member is an important piece of a whole.

People that don’t learn these lessons get yelled at because they don’t learn how important it is that the team survive longer than the boss. They get kittened at because they weren’t paying attention and let themselves go down or they don’t listen when someone asks for help. This leads to frustration and quits.

But if everyone puts up their best effort? Struggle tooth and nail, communicate, support each other so no one feels they’re alone? Even failure can be fun especially if you learn something in the process.

If people wearing greens/rares are no longer using GW2LFG then this patch is a huge success.

Has anyone in this thread ever did Fractals? Because the concept is exactly the same.
Dungeons are supposed to be something that involves strategy and a lot of teamwork, and if a player dies, that means the strategy wasn’t good enough, the players weren’t good enough, or the coordination was extremely lacking.
Rez running is (was) the noob way of doing dungeons, and completely removes any form of improvment. “I died, what did I do wrong? Who cares, I’ll just run back in”: this won’t happen anymore.

I did TA once after patch, with a team that included two terrible pug players. Nightmare Wurm was the bane of most bad teams, and often involved rez running. And yet, this time it was litarally a joke, after the damage nerf of puddles. I still have to try other bosses, but I’m quite confident I won’t have any problem with a decent team.

Maybe they should add “elite” mode?
There is already exploring/story distinction (small but nonetheless), so just make an Elite mode — no WP use, harder bosses, etc. That way people who are bored with “easy” (for them, but not newcomers/non-pro players) mode would get their wish granted, and for someone who doesn’t spend lots of time training on boss timing or hunting for strategy guides there’s a chance to get through the dungeon. And a chance of doing it with some random players that happened to be on at the time (instead of demanding particular mix of classes/gear)

I support Areanet`s decision to improve the level of challenge in dungeons. However, by first implementing a frustrating mechanic that has a MAJOR impact on how dungeons are played out, is not the best way the garner support for your idea.

I love/hate you and want kiss/kill you.

my 2 copper… but im keeping the copper.
