Fergg and the infinite respawning grenadier guards
Not Infinite, 12 waves is what I’ve heard.
Also, try out the tactic of killing off all but 1 grenadier on the first wave. Leave 1 player to kite the grenadier, while the other 4 go up to the boss to kill it. This way new waves of grenadiers wont spawn.
Also its not a bug because Anet put an area where the grenadiers hit to despawn.

Why are there 15 waves of these beasts between me and 2 chests?
Tedious content does not make for fun.
Their PBAoE and AoE and health all need a reality check because these guys are not fun.
Tried it again with holding 1 off but after we finished the pylons and got to the boss we were down a man, got him into the guy who controls gravity fight. Someone falls in lava, they are stuck. These waves were coming constantly.

Well, its unfortunate that Anet had to put these grenadiers there. But, they arent that bad once you figure out a way to beat them and it works;) Not sure why it didnt work for you.
Also Anet added this feature to stop “Speed runs” of the specific path. This path was abused by Token farmers.

Why doesn’t the person in the lava just die to it, waypoint, then run back? (and also, try to stand perpendicular to the boss if possible, such that punts send you forwards or backwards instead of sideways into lava.)
He couldn’t run back because between him and us were spawning mobs.
Waves of these guys and they didn’t stop!
You can just run past them, they’re unlikely to change target from the guy that’s been holding them there. Running through them is easy.
Trigger them, wp to the entrance, alt tab for ~10 minutes. Grats, you bypassed the grenadiers.
