FotM Loot Scaling Atrocious...
I have a feeling what was meant by the loot scaling feature was the quality of certain types of ascended materials (and in the higher levels fractal weapons)
For instance in the lower levels of fractals you come across Vials Of Condensed Mists Essence… later on it’s Globs Of Condensed Mists Essence… then it’s Shards and so on and so forth.
I don’t know if they meant that the loot would get better in regards to other rarity tiers such as rares or exotics. Although one would hope that they are included as it makes more sense to have the loot progress in those areas also.

I haven’t found an exotic after scale 20 I’m at 44 now I have the feeling that loot gets worse on top of that when I go back to help friends out on like cale 10+ I start getting like 7 rares per chest per run atm at hour scale all of our group get like max 2 rares per run witch are 3 fractals where you have to spend way more time ( dredge on with lvl 83 spawms ) to get through..
I would have expected better loot table out of the chests I hope this will be fixed

You only get the extra daily chest once per tier per day, but you can do the Jade Maw stage multiple times a day.

I’m about to hit lvl 40 with only 10 resistance so its not totally a closed gate but i agree.. havent seen a single infused ring, been doing lvl 20 and 30 dailies for a good week and change now

so on 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 i always get the daily ?
or only one from 10 – 18 and one from 20 to 28 and one from 30 – 38?
No 10 – 18 is a combined daily called tier 2
Tier 3 would be 20 -28 and so on
Each “tier” may give you a daily quest. It is not each visit to a Jade Maw stage.
Sadly, it would be better for the community if the lower tier remained more efficient, as it would reduce the fragmentation of the community. I also can’t believe that Arenanet intended for 20+ to be efficient with the current gear available to players.
The entire system is a mess. The dungeon itself is great, but the current difficulty system has great potential to be very destructive to the game and the community.
please also look into upping the cap of fractal relics as well. currently at lvl 55 it is capped at 15 per boss which is the same as it was in the fotm 4x level.

Have you considered that it doesn’t go up because you’re not supposed to be able to complete 50?

It doesn’t matter if your not “suppose to” be able to beat 50, his group did, so reward them for it.

so only the chests are scalling and not the mobs? I mean the mobs at lvl 1 have the same drops that lvl 30 mobs?

You can’t skill your way past 1172% hp/sec. You’re saying that exploits should be rewarded.

But, it gets them money. It probably will remain as is :p

It’ll hit him when he gets to the platform to rez his friends though. Although I guess with some careful placement he should be able to rez them from just outside the agony area.

I was talking about Jade Maw. Your idea will probably end will the person jumping down to res and getting agony applied.

while im not entirely sure, as long as your entire team isnt dead I dont think the maw resets. Also the agony only lasts a short while.

Everyone should have moved to the safe corner, and if the person in question is shot at moving over there he can just pop an immortality (mist form for example) or dodge roll it.
Rez everyone, continue as normal. Before the last jade colossus dies, have the person jump off the edge backwards, such that they down on the previous platform, they get up, move back out of agony range. Kill last colossus. Repeat the first sequence again, and then proceed to finish maw as normal.
Now, this hinges on the agony not being map wide, and the maw not resetting if he has no viable targets in range, but players are alive. But if it works then it’s a reasonably solid way to fight him through crazy agony.

I can confirm, at lv50 you get the same exact trash you get at lv1. Rares ’ chance included. I still find hylarious the exotic 20 slot bag sold by merchant
Guess was meant to be used for high tiers (40+) where you was going to get some exotics filling that bag, sometimes. Nah
No reason to even deal with the hassle of go over a lv32

It doesn’t work like that.
First off, agony hits the entire platform, if you are off the platform when you jump from those floating stones onto the entrance of the platform area you will get hit with agony.
Second, Jade Maw never regens. So first thing you do is your group wipes from the agony attack, respawn, then run over to the entrance of the Jade Maw area. When you jump down to the Jade Maw area (on the last floating stone thing) you will instantly be hit with agony again.
When the agony tick isn’t as insane, you can get away with downed res skills like Warrior Warbanner to keep the first person up. Once they are up and through agony, they can res each of the next people who jump down. Then just repeat for his 2nd agony attack. Everything else about Jade Maw is easy.
At 50+, the agony ticks are so great you need things that can res you from dead state, like revive orbs or I believe the ranger pet might work if it hasn’t been fixed.

As fun as it is to throw around conspiracy theories, can you imagine the negative reaction they would face if that was the only way to get past an unbeatable barrier? That would cross the “pay2win” line. You should give ANet more credit than that.
Even then, when more people catch on to the current situation (Jade Maw 50 killing your entire party in 2 seconds when the agony from the other d50 bosses hit for d40 values), there is probably going to be a big negative reaction about it being bad game design to literally block your players from progress, especially when you can see that there are levels after 50.

I strongly believe that any way to get you out of defeated state while on the Jade Maw platform is the kind of thing deemed an exploit, and will be removed/fixed/whatever.
FWIW, I believe that keeping one person alive through agony on the drop down is legitimate (barely), as that does require some coordination. If they wanted to make it so you had to actually keep at least one person alive on the transition during the fight, then the boss should fully reset HP/phases between attempts, like other typical MMO encounters. I don’t believe they have the capability of doing this yet, however.

Agree with your post, and seems there are other “tricks” to deal with the instadeath at 50. It’s just a failure, 50 shouldn’t even exists at all, it’s a nonsense to have a final fight with maw with an instawipe, regardless of your agony resistance.

Difficulty 50 should follow a natural progression, like the other 4 tiers with agony before it.
I thought the point of Fractals was that it would get harder and harder until you didn’t have enough agony resistance to feasibly get any farther. That’s certainly not the case right now. 50 feels the same as 40-49, except Jade Maw goes from hitting you for 40% hp/sec to well over 1000% hp/sec.

I won’t deny what I’ve done. My group has pretty much stopped at 53 though, there’s no point, and it’s obvious that they don’t want you to be there.
This probably deserves a topic of its own, since I kinda derailed this thread pretty hard earlier.

Yup, as said, this kind of fight shouldn’t even exists. We have resistance, a heal must at least give us a hope.
