I’m sure this topic has had numerous threads in the past but unfortunately I did not have the chance to read them :/

Over the past 12+ months I have and I would assume that many of you have a significant collection of unusable Fractal Ascended rings cluttering up your bank or Alt toon’s bags.

Anet if possible can you add a way to trade in the rings to one of the lab assistants for Amulets, trinkets, relics or even ascended armor / weapons.

Just a suggestion but something like,

1 Ascended ring = 1 pristine relic
3 Ascended rings = 1 Ascended Amulet
6 Ascended rings = 1 Ascended trinket
10 Ascended rings = 1 Ascended Weapon or Armor piece
15 Ascended rings = Fractal Weapon

20= Precursor?

25= 1 dragonite ore.

Already sold at least 10+ rings to NPC for 5s. :|

But I like the suggestion still. At least give the option to trade in these rings for other rings. Getting two of the same zerk rings and not be able to switch for another zerk ring is mindnumbingly… RNG.

I kept enough rings to full a complete tab in my bank, but since them, i just can’t keep more of them and I destroy all the one I found (except if there are zerker, these ones I always keep them). Would be nice to be able to do something with all these rings.

1 bank tab for the rings and 1 bank tab for the Dust and Empyreal Fragment. These take a lot of place in my bank kitten .

Erm. Yeah!

Why warriors aren’t allowed to just drop weapons and go fisticuffs is beyond me. Surely you could do some serious damage with those heavy gauntlets.

I mean I can totally see a Gypsy Danger style attack with dem CoF gauntlets

I see what you did there.

There is actually no game problem at all if players just sell the unwanted rings. The game carries on. Rings only fill banks if players put them into banks. The top quality loot rewards in fractals may not drop often enough but the drop rate should be fixed rather than trying to make these rings compensate for that. They should not be a hidden currency.

It takes too much effort to transfer my ascended rings to an alt, so I just merch them now. If they were useful, that’d be neat. Why can’t we salvage them yet?

Once upon a patch they changed a bunch of items in this game, and I had 3 or 4 crappy rings magically change into Berserker rings. I was glad I didn’t vendor them.

Forget dragonite, I wish we could salvage them for mists essence which never wants to drop for me.

I just can’t do open world PvE, I’m allergic to it. I’ve had to turn to PvP to get dragonite. But heh I guess that’s a win for Anet: they want us to use as much as the content as possible. That’s cool I guess, this way I can be frustrated by every content possible. Variety is fun.

I Like the salvage idea as well

I agree we need to be able to do SOMETHING with them other than merch them for a depressingly small amount of coin. My vote is for salvaging them for Dragonite + Ecto/Dark Matter.

Or maybe throwing 4 ascended rings in the mystic forge should produce a Mini Scarlet.

Ever try the eotm train? it’s not to bad if your com likes fighting and it goes to your WvW meta! but yeah to OP I +1 this very nice idea.

EotM is like PvE in a pseudo-WvW setting without the server drama.
