..and more specifically, this sentence:

seems to indicate that you’ll soon be able to demand gearchecks. Is that the case, or am I misreading?

From how I read it, it means you can see their traits or trait lines, not equipment. But I may be wrong.

I personally hope it doesn’t happen though, for the reasons in this thread.

Showing your gear is possible with any build editor. I think the point is that Anet forcing gear reveals is not inline with the concept of the game.

token key is private, i don’t think people will copy it and paste it all over gw2, so that everyone can check out their acc to see if hack might be worth it ..

I was thinking people will demand “token key or kick” upon entering an LFG.

there is no need to share the token or do you see the token anywhere in the links frifox and me provided?

You don’t need to share the key with other people but the website needs it to read the info from ANet’s servers.

I doubt this will be wide spread but it’d be hilarious watching people without EU keyboards trying to type some of my accented character names to gear check LOL.

I had a guildie challenge himself to create a name that looked like it made sense with as many accented characters as possible, I think only 2 of them didn’t have an accent of some kind. We ended up holding a contest to see who could correctly match it.

Hm, +5 infusions… I’m not sure if I should clap my hands in appreciation for the effort and the dedication, or just call you crazy fools…

Anyway, there’s no way it’s gonna become a problem because no sane pug would bother asking for the api key just to check out eeevery single blasted character joining, But then again, even if some wanted to be that insane, why would it be a problem?
