I mean… is this real life? am I being film for a “trueman show” there is no way, no way this is serious. THEY ARE KITTEN EXCITED ABOUT THE MOST USELESS CHANGE IN HISTORY OF LIFE. I’ll be on top of SAB for the next 2 hours, crying myself to sleep.

How do I explain to an 8-year-old little girl, who has been checking if the SAB is finally open again since before April, that she will not get the chance to go in there for a very very very long time? She just learned to do jumping puzzles last winter, and is really looking forward to trying SAB herself, especially since she loved watch me jumping last time the SAB was around.

I guess I’ll have to spend a ton of transmutation charges equipping all my characters with SAB backpacks and minis to protest the decision to keep the box closed … at least on one account, the other one unfortunately hasn’t been around when SAB was last opened, and I’d been looking forward to exploring SAB with my favourite asura for a while now cry.

edit: too slow I guess … but with the ton of threads about it all over the forums, it was surprisingly difficult to find the link to the original article again . Anyway, to my 8-year-old it might as well be “never again”, the way they’ve worded it at that interview.

Somewhat related, I hear someone on some MMO forum somewhere just got penalized for pointing out that said MMO would rather penalize players than discuss issues with them. I hope that something like that would never happen on these forums.

Sometimes we just sit in silence for hours. Not a word needs to be spoken.

He was such a hard worker up at PR&T Esoteric’s. He cared deeply about his work, and wasn’t afraid to stand up and fight when something threatened the company, like when Bleent’s crazy ooze experiment went awry. He was always friendly to passersby, offering help with PR&T’s products and showing genuine interest in their feedback. The locals in Akk Wilds more or less considered him to be the friendly, caring face of PR&T.

But then it all went wrong. PR&T cared far less for him than he did for them. They used him up and once he completed construction on his oozeshooters, they just kicked him to the curb like garbage. He was no longer useful to them — they had their product and had no need to further improve upon it, opting instead to simply push the half finished oozeshooters on their customers and turn a deaf ear to their complaints.

Alas, the oozeshooters had small, but easily correctable, defects. As a result the local wurm population dwindled, leaving the locals angry with PR&T. They lashed out at the company, demanding improvement, begging for support — to finish the oozeshooters that had so much potential. The company just ignored the complaints, instead focusing on oozeshooting competitions, sponsored endorsements, and cheap novelty oozeshooter knick-knacks.

Our brilliant friend could do nothing. Abandoned by the company he loved so, he spends his days keeping watch over the Akk Wilds. Remembering fondly days gone by, when he felt valued and appreciated. Reminiscing over lost opportunities to complete his masterpiece. Trying to forgive the cruel company that did not return his affections.

Somedays he finds peace helping out Parnna with her transfer chamber, or visiting Oola’s lab. I like those days, his face warms over with a satisfied smile and his bubbly personality infects all he meets.

Other days are darker, and he just stands outside PR&T in silence, his sorrowful thoughts known only to him. I try to just sit with him, trying to silently let him know his plight was appreciated. Reminding him that he is still legendary among the locals for his helpful and friendly service during his time at PR&T. Helping him cope with the devastation of the wurms that resulted from his half-finished masterpiece. No matter how I try, however, some days the pain just never leaves his face.

Today is one of those days. I hope tomorrow will be better.

I think that it’s always safer to say “Him” or “He”, as most players that play female toons are, in fact, male. I for one am always pleasantly surprised when someone corrects me. (Don’t know why, but I am)

I don’t like correcting. Because even though it distinctly bothers me I feel like it makes me look like I’m looking for attention for correcting. So I don’t. But I cringe here. Lol

Ehhh, but it’s also the other way around. I mean, if someone assumed I’m a girl it’d TOTALLY rub me the wrong way. I wouldn’t like it at all, I’d feel uncomfortable… at least for a second. Since the majority of players is composed by males… yeah.
I sometimes type “he/she”, but I’m not always bothering. I’m a lazy kitty. If I get corrected I personally don’t feel anything in particular. I don’t treat people differently unless the person encourages me to do so… for instance, I noticed girls quite often initiate themselves all the “cute” or “girly” talk – with exceptions.
