Logged in today..look at the dungeon population for some dungeon’s in multiple server’s, seen it was under 10 people. Lol’d. Wtb hero’s/henchies please.

This is because Arenanet has taken a stance that:

1. Dungeons should be very hard.
2. The rewards should be limited.

These two pillars of their philosophy have accidentally made dungeons unfun, unrewarding, frustrating, and a waste of time that could be spent doing something else. Nobody wants to put themselves through dungeons anymore.

Challenge should reflect reword. Sure you don’t need to get the most epic gear at ones, but at least some kind of reword.
Atm there is 4 kinds of rewards you can get from the instances.

  1. XP. That one is quite basic.
  2. Cash reward through the dungeon and finishing the dungeon. Quite basic.
  3. Loot drop from dungeon and loot reward from boss/doing the dungeon.
    Atm this one is balanced really badly. I have done about 5 dungeon runs so far on 2 characters and the loot I get I can’t use. That is 5 runs without getting any loot that my characters can’t use (except for white gear that I sell or salvage). And if I do get good gear that I can use on a future character, I don’t have the room in the bank to save it all. And the loot reward from doing the last boss is just laughable sad. White and blue gear? Maybe a green one if you are lucky, and most probably an item you can’t use.
  4. “Marks”. You gain marks from dungeon to buy gear from a vendor.
    But the question is the price of the gear you can buy. Atm it is so expensive that if you want a complete set from any dungeon in the game, you will be 80 before you can afford it. When you can afford it, it is useless because you now will be going for lvl 80 gear instead.

So in the end there are only kind of 2 rewards you can get from doing a dungeon. XP and cash. But why do dungeon when you can do world events that will net you more xp and gold faster?

Right there is the problem. I like a challenge and I will do all the instances just to have experienced them. But more than that? Nope. Why should I? I have done them. I have “beaten” the instance. There is nothing more for me there to do (I my do it to help out aguildmate though, but other then that?). XP and gold I can get quicker other places, and I will most probably be working on my LvL 80 gear instead of using 40 hours in 1 dungeon collecting some low LvL gear that just looks OK.

I guess Im not the only one thinking that way.
