I was thinking of attempting this with a healing shout build.

I’ve ran that build for a long time, so I feel uncomfortable and squishy with anything else

Yep, i had the same idea and im trying to get my mesmer alt from 60 to 80 and test it out. Biggest concern would be that im not sure how feedback and mirror interacts with his noscope shot and aoe, but you analyzed that pretty similar to me.
I played the Ele for duoing lupi with Weth (allthough now he doesnt need me anymore) and Invulnerability/Projectile absorb aswell as endurance regen are key.

One thing that you didnt touch in your analysis (and anyone who didnt try this without the usual “stand in a pack and burst grub” probably wont think of it) is the constant insect swarm spawn in p1.
Weth managed to aoe them down while hitting lupi, other classes may have more problems there.
When i tried to solo lupi on my ele i can kite the swarms for p1 but its very hard to clear them and they stay for p2+3 if not cleared.

Very well played Weth, i just wish there would be more challenging content to do.

I can see Death Shroud tanking every 5 sec on big hits with Soul Reaping XII being feasible for replacing dodges but that would require so much life force management.

As in one of the tasks. You should be required to accomplish other tasks of the same vibe that all require 5-7 hours of mastering each. And they should’ve been account bound too so it would actually be in a state of pricelessness and a display of skill rather than luck/grind/price flipping prowess/gold buying.

I really don’t know how Necromancer works but one week ago I thought this was impossible with Warrior. It took me some planning and testing to see what works (rifle + axe/warhorn, rifle + axe/shield, rifle + greatsword, axe/warhorn + greatsword, axe/shield + greatsword, sword/shield + greatsword, mace/shield + greatsword).

I’m impressed, but this video kina shows why I don’t bother to log on much anymore. GW2 favors some classes SO heavily its kind of absurd.

I want to see how far a ranger or necromancers could get solo Lupus, not very far I imagine.

There is a title, it’s called warrior. They even give you a little helmet icon next to your portrait (although it replaces other icons) and a bunch of skills.

Do it with a ranger and I’ll be impressed.

Put let’s say 30 hours of planning and practicing this encounter. And then come complain.

One issue with the Mesmer analysis is that you can’t really substitute Warrior’s shield 5 with Mesmer’s sword 4 or scepter 3 – those two attacks only block once in a chain, and doesn’t give the same mobility and complete duration blocking as Warrior’s GS 3 and shield 5.

You really have some issues with people soloing some bosses? It’s not like the masses are doing that, just some inviduals. I soloed few bosses and it isn’t really something anet should look into because it’s only done for challenge. Also, you can do that on your glorious necro. I have a friend playing one who isn’t mega-super-skill0rz yet he can handle lupicus alone just fine in phase 2 and 3. With a bit of a practice he could do that.

If you could permanently stow your pet and take it out when you want it, not whenever you enter combat, and were a robot with amazing reflexes on grub dodging, it could be possible with a Sylvari ranger using a heavy BM build.

I’m not surprised Feedback doesn’t work normally because projectiles start much higher. However, have you actually tried standing inside the bubble in melee-range?

You are worrying about solo-balance when every difficult content is group-content.
I haven’t really played Necromancer but there are plenty of situations where I wish I could do that too (like Well of Darkness).
Phase 1 is extremely easy on any class. You can do it with just auto-attack without taking any damage. Start of phase 2 can be extremely hard depending amount of Locusts. Clearing them when Lupicus is about ~76% makes it easier. Without Locusts phase 2 shouldn’t be a big problem. You need some skills to survive multi-projectile attack. Phase 3 is extremely hard with full focus. However minions/clones/etc should make it much easier.

You might have a point there I know feedback does work on his spam attack when he is in phase 3. The revive with feedback trait can help a lot there.

Haha Wondering how long we have to wait our necro skills fixed working as intented, at least.

Just a little update. Swapped Endure Pain to Frenzy and did it in 13,5 mins.
