Lupicus Solo
Well, I’ll be kitten I suppose you can still stability your way out of the bubble, then?
I don’t suppose you got anything soloable left to solo?
(edited by Iehova.9518)
Yeah, Balanced Stance, Dolyak Signet, Shield Stance + dodge or two dodges + healing. On average should be more than enough.
Karka Champion at Southsun. AC3? (need to test burrows more), CM 1 and 3, TA up (maybe f/u too), se 3 (maybe 1? not sure how it plays out now), hotw?
I just love you man.
no brakes on this train
EDIT: I’ve also found it was possible to dodge the bubble and I don’t use reckless dodge, as well as it being possible on my engineer and mesmer. It’s weird to explain, if you dodge when he begins the animation you get knocked down and take one tick of the damage, but end out outside the bubble so you can walk away. Couldn’t do it consistently though.
really bad engineer

It’s called Guild WARS 2 for a reason…and this is one of those good examples of why.
Wow! Very impressive! I remember doing Lupicus the first time. Now to see this? xD
After whiping 6-7 times on him a few days ago I gotta say that this is very impressive. Granted we were all noobs with just basic knowledge of everything, we had fun dying at least :P
Still very impressive sir.

You can definitely do it on ele and guardian. I haven’t tried other proffs. Is it called Guild Eles 2? Instead of whining about certain proffesion why won’t you try doing it?
You can do it on ele and guardian.
Looking forward to a demonstration.
I know some guys planning to do it on Mesmer and Thief. Looking forward to that.

Ye, me too.
And here I was hoping you’d solo him.
And here I was hoping you’d solo him.
My problem with recording is that I have memory leaks when I’m doing it on 5 years old hardware. Basically, I can’t play without massive fps drop. But here’s a little sneak peak with a guardian. If you’d want my proposition for builds for ele/gua I can post them/pm you.

you can do a similar thing with elementalist (if im thinking about the right thing)
When he does the animation, like, mid… throw? kinda. He’s got his hands in the air and is about to thrust them down to place the bubble. If you use the ele fire 4 on staff the dodge roll takes you far enough back to completely avoid the damage and knockdown. Then lupi sits there staring at his empty bubble for a bit while everyone smacks him.
Unfortunately elementalist staff is probably not the best tool for solo’ing lupi on ele

Focus is probably much better.
When some members of my personal dungeon team taught me this fight for the first time, they told me to go range, but when I saw your first solo videos shortly after, I started meleeing Lupicus at all stages. I never die, and they call me crazy, lol. Lupicus is wayyy more fun to fight melee.

No other profession hits as hard with that much survivability. There’s a reason CoF speed runs ask for Wars and Mes only.
Soloing is not the issue I was referring to. The numbers flying by and the time it took him was.
…and I do own a war…and I, unlike SOME people…completely admit that the class’s damage is broken when compared to other classes. Anyone ignoring this fact is simply being…well, ignorant.

Warriors deal the most damage, I agree here. But please, don’t spew nonsense about survivability. Did you ever tried full zerker warrior with 916 toughness/vitality? You see 4 wars in cof because you kill 4 mobs, no dodging is even required.

Yeah it’s because you have to kill like 4 things and they’re all damage sponges that don’t fight back so you may as well go for max dps.

I have an 80 of every class apart from ele and guardian. The warrior’s damage is only broken because of the fights. See, most boss fights strait up discourage utility – knockdowns are useless because you need 5 of them to make an effect, and then they just get straight up, as well as resistance to blind and weakness – and actively encourage nothing but damage in order to get through the game faster. In things like Arah basic mob pulls, I actively believe the classes are pretty balanced – the idea behind warrior is they get big damage to make up for their lack of utility, and so they’ll spend a lot of their time being knocked about and running away from said arah trash mobs. Thing is – everyone skips trash mobs. So yeah, warriors are only OP in the kitten easy dungeons, like your example of CoF, which will likely be completely different come next update.
I do agree that they need a nerf, but dungeons also need a severe redesign. I made this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Potential-solution-to-PvE-dominance/first#post1245788 b-but nobody replied. ;_;
It doesn’t help that they’re the easiest class. Your average pleb will do twice as much on a warrior than he will on a mesmer, because of the higher skill cap.

Congrats. I guess you gave up on the whirlwind approach to the bubbles. I finally got around to soloing him with my guardian. You only beat me by about 30min.
With the starting delay of whirlwind when using skill 1 it would have been very unreliable (much easier take simple utilities). In case it even works and doesn’t require pre-casting.

Back to taking Cantrips on my Ele, le sigh.

Heh, that’s true. On my full zerker gua it took about 15-20 minutes.
Obal, did you take a video?
Obal, did you take a video?
I did. I was going to make a post tomorrow since I didn’t want to steal your thunder since you did this today. Your video gave me the inspiration to finally give it a shot since I have been putting it off for so long. I updated my original post of my arah thread with a link to it.
