Please continue with making more raids
Sure, raids are great, keep making them. Just don’t make only raids as endgame instanced PvE, other people want to play game too.

But Raids are endgame instanced PvE.
You already can play 2 wings of the raid, you just decide you don’t because (insert random irrational reason).
Totally your fault, tough luck buddy.

They are not only one tho. Also, not everyone wants to return to WoW again.

I Raided in WoW and the Raiding in WoW felt nothing like the Raiding we have in GW2. So no returning to WoW here.

What’s a WoW?! this game is called Guild Wars 2, maybe you should stop playing this game and go back there, because apparently this game isn’t for you.

I truly do believe that we need more of these threads, due to a fact that there’s always a “kitten” who makes a negative topic, and then everyone else who actually raids, defends “raids” via reply, only making the negative topic, well more shown
So yeah, lets spread positivity here, raids so far are AWESOME, accsessability is GREAT as well, and design is overall cool, MORE RAIDS Pl0X
Sure, kitten everything else! Lets make nothing but raids form here on out! GW2 had a good run, 4 years, and one dismal expansion, it’s the perfect time to get that NGE going full swing and alienate all those filthy casuals! Who needs any kind of lateral end game where players had choices about what they could do, we need to have everyone pigeonholed into Raids, and Role Based Builds, because that is what they will love! They Will LOVE IT!
This is such a grand idea, they should do nothing but continue down that path! Anet Make this happen!

When will you accept that raids don’t slow down the creation of other content? It got confirmed mutilple times by ArenaNet. There will always be content you don’t want to play or can’t play. Accept it.

Why did you quote me? I didn’t say anything even remotely related to what you said.
Yup they’re amazing, but the QQ won’t stop until LS3 comes out and will continue 2 weeks after that again because as with all LS content there’s 0 replay value.

Exactly this! Cannot repeat it enough times.
Sure, I’ll choose to support the more positive thread.
Yes please.
Raids have been some of the highest quality PvE content Anet has created and I would love to see more of it (hopefully before the 2nd xpac). That said, raids should not be the only PvE content focus (Fotm can implement a ton of LS1 content into fractals, yet sadly it sound like we are only getting a single new fractal for its next update), but I don’t believe the raid team is the reason for the slow content cycle on other forms of content.

Keep making raids, raid team! Meanwhile the fractals team can keep making fractals.
Just a reminder that you got 4 big open world maps in the last ~7-8 months. That’s like 1 new big open world map every 2 months. And more open world maps are probably on the way with LS3 too.
So yeah not sure why you complain.
Raids are the main drive for maintaining my interest in GW2 currently. I’ll probably always come back for new content dumps, such as expacs/LS, but raids keep me logging in each week.
The variety of roles involved and new roles introduced in each wing have helped me engage in so many more classes/builds. The ease of gearing up (save for viper stat perhaps) makes it much more possible for me to try out different classes/roles, especially compared to fractals.
Lots more raids please

a game mode that no one likes and no one plays.
No one likes, not one person. Absolutes much?
Any of the people I’ve raided with would staunchly disagree.
It’s currently the only PVE content that actually requires any decent amount of planning & skill (which is a plus point for a lot of people btw)

Three years since last dungeon/fractal.
The dungeon/fractal community complained about this since ears. We are happy that we have raids now because we were asking about dungeon fixes, new dungeons, new fractals and more. Lists were made from players with all the bugs and with possible improvements that would have been easy to implement but nothing happened so far although we were told to do so from Anet!
Raids will not survive in there current format. Raids are killing this game.
I believe this will be the last Raid that we see like this, data shows that raids are played by an extremely small portion of the community. There is no way the devs are going to keep wasting resources on a game mode that no one likes and no one plays.
I predict that in the future we will see raids 2.0, hey will keep calling them Raids to keep the elitists happy, however there will be an easier mode for the other 99% of players. “Dungeon Mode” perhaps.
Ok show us the Data or otherwise your Post is nothing but Bullcrap.
In the AmA Anet told us that Raids are very successful and a bigger % of Players Raid in GW2 then in other MMOs.
And how are Raids killing the Game?
Yes, and keep exploring branches of lore. Maybe a Raid dealing with Tengu would be cool! Or something dealing with that crazy zombie king in the desert. Neither do I think should be direct interactions, but just giving us a glimpse at what is happening or that there are other threats beside dragons is really cool. There is so much story and play possibilities. It is exciting.
I’m excited for wing 3, but also really looking forward to the next Raid which I hope will be released during the Winter quarterly update of 2017.
I would rather have what other MMO’s do for the next Xpac, an instance cluster. Where we have 2-3 5 man dungeons and 1 10 man raid to culminate the story. Currently we have 3 raids.
Also I dislike how the rewards for raid have been distributed. The main reward is legendary armor, but instead of getting the armor piece mill like in most MMOs I’ve played, we have to get it all at once at the end. I also wish the they would release the build recipes for the armors months ago so people had something to do and gather.
Raids are killing this game
No they aren’t, this isn’t the matrix, raids aren’t agent smith trying to destroy neo.
Raids are locking some of the best GW lore behind this elitism.
Have you even been in a raid? What did you find that nobody else did or do you think so little of the core game that the raid content is so much better?
I’m just going to ignore the rest of what you said as it doesn’t have any connection to reality.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
Typical of sensible people to point out baseless hyperbole.
You’d find similar responses from any half sensible person no matter what section of the forum or game mode, in the face of nonfactual absolutes.

Well strictly speaking right now we have 2/3 of a raid, with the last 1/3 to be released this coming Tuesday. But yeah I think it would be pretty sick if we got new dungeons complete with story+explorable paths along with a new 10 man raid. Obviously I’m not expecting that lol, but that would definitely be the dream.
Also I dislike how the rewards for raid have been distributed. The main reward is legendary armor, but instead of getting the armor piece mill like in most MMOs I’ve played, we have to get it all at once at the end. I also wish the they would release the build recipes for the armors months ago so people had something to do and gather.
Eh I think would disagree with the premise of this, I don’t think most people that raid regularly see legendary armor as the main reward. Most everyone I have raided with is in it for some combination of the weapon skins/minis, ascended drops, and the entertainment value. Unless it provides some insane utility with runes I think most people just see it as the same as ascended armor and it will be judged by whether people like the skins or not. If legendary armor were indeed the “main reward” then people would stop raiding after they got it, and I think that most people won’t do that.
Also, even if we don’t know exactly what it takes to craft the armor it’s pretty easy to make an educated guess. We know the pact provisioner tokens are in it, there’s probably going to be a ridiculous amount of some ascended mats (which one depends on armor weight class). Given the requirements of the legendary journies/collections for every post-hot legendary, ball of dark energy seems likely as well. There also could be some huge amount of a T5 mat (like how you have to craft 250 hammer hafts or whatever for legendary collection). Granted there’s probably going to be lots of other random crap but I would guess that most of the gold cost is going to be in probably hundreds of ascended mats and some number of balls of dark energy, maybe with some T5 mats. The time cost (if you don’t have them already) is going to be in provisioner tokens.
If you’re really interested in collecting for it now then go for ascended mats, because assuming I’m not way off base the price of everything that goes into those is going to skyrocket when the recipe becomes known lol.
I would rather have 1 raid wing and 2-3 dungeons to supplement it.
I enjoyed one of Lotro instance clusters, Ost Dunhoth. This included two 3-mans, two 6-mans, and a 12-man raid.
By the way ascended mats were never used for in any legendary crafting, only in precursor crafting. I know this is splitting hairs, but precursors are being given as rewards like the pvp backpieces.
In the AmA Anet told us that Raids are very successful and a bigger % of Players Raid in GW2 then in other MMOs.
While this is true, the Devs also cited in that same AMA, that other MMO’s like WoW, had a 3% participation rate.

Because SuperMario Wars 2 was not what I had hoped for after the content drought. Of course you can answer “well, this is your fault then.” and basically, you would even be right to it. I made a bad choice by purchasing it.
I am personally hoping that raids take a backseat again for a while and easier, less time consuming stuff will be coming in soon again.
Well said OP, raids have been a tremendous success and I’m excited to see the theme of the next one! The whiners will whine at anything as they clearly enjoy the thrill of campaigning against other people’s happiness!
Kinda wanted this thread to be up top, especially with Tuesday raid hype.
Raids are the most fun I’ve had in gw2 in a while. Just wish I could do them more often. At least, after Tuesday, I’ll have more raid to choose from!
more raids with a storymode. YES!

While I’m not going to say if the current raid is good or bad (I’ll admit, I have a personal prejudice against them), I do agree that this raid will be the last one like this. The current raid does have/create some problems, and I’m sure ANet will try something new in an attempt to avoid that in the future. They like trying new things, even if it does mean they have to re-invent the wheel every now and then.
I have no idea what they’ll try, but I honestly don’t see them thinking that their first attempt is the best they can do.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
How about 1 or maybe 2 raids per-year?

They said in an earlier Guild Chat that at their current workflow they have the ability to produce a raid wing every 3-4 months.

I’d expect that workflow to change as we draw closer to the release of the next expansion. There’s never enough time on things like that, so I’d expect some of the people that help the raid team to be too busy with expansion projects.

They have a lot of time to plan for that, though, and I expect that scheduling the time of the audio/music group (for example) is something they’ve already incorporated into their workflow. I can’t speak for them, but I think they were taking it into account already.
People hates Raids because of how toxic the community inside is, let’s be honest, take a look at the LFG requirements, 50 LI which was like 10 times less 5 months ago just for the 1st Wing, how stupid is this? I bought the game, I wanna play everything inside, and people who wants that shouldn’t be harassed by the “plagues” for doing so.
People hate raids because they are incapable of forming up groups and working towards success.
They want to get in with already existing “good” groups that have put in the time and effort and have an easy time.
Except the people that have worked hard don’t want new/inexperienced players in their groups – and for good reason.
Somehow – not wanting to take people that haven’t worked hard to earn their place is being toxic.
You bought this game? sure. Are you entitled to be able to play anything inside definitely.
Does that mean 9 other people are obligated to have you with them and play with you if they don’t want to? No.
Because everyone bought this game – and everyone has a right to play it the way they see fit. Even if it means playing it without you.
You want to not get hassled? Find 9 other people that want you or try to solo the content.
And, to add something to Harper’s statement:
You forget the 9 other lfgs without li requirement, Amineo.

Or they could find like-minded people of which there seem to be plenty of on these forums and play with them instead? (Pretty obvious why they don’t want to do that but that’s a different matter).
If your “problem” is group content then MMO’s aren’t the genre for you, there are plenty of single player games where you don’t have to interact with anyone. Expecting an MMO to relinquish its group content is amongst the dumbest things you’ve said.

Your claims are beyond absurd.
Just because I want to play the game a certain way makes me an entitled jerk?
Let me clue you in friend – I was there on raid release. I put in countless hours into VG, then Gorse, then Sab and so on. I learned, I improved, I got better. We all did.
I have a right to choose who I play with -and I choose to play with people that worked hard just like me – not ones that joined late and expect to be carried.
The only problem here is people thinking they’re entitled to being part of any group just because they want to.
Just because we play the same game doesn’t mean I have to play with you. Just because you want to do what I do doesn’t mean we can do it together.
You can’t force yourself into groups and nor should you be able to.
If you find a group that wants to carry you? Great – go for it. I won’t – and neither will most other raiders.
You want to train? Great – join a raid guild – ask for guidance – join their practice runs – it’s all out there.
Don’t expect PUGs to carry you though.

No – they can’t. Do you know why? Because somehow in the way he sees it if an inexperienced or new player wants to do the content I’m doing I’m somehow obligated to take him along and help and teach him.
In his confusion he’s mistaken me for a tutorial system that Anet never made. Because my playtime, satisfaction or enjoyment of the game don’t matter – what matters is that “new players get into raids lel”.
The raids are there – you can open them anytime.
The LFG tool is there – you’re free to use it.
The forums are here – you can look for a guild ( or use reddit, or google).
You have the tools to fix your problem – but do it yourself – don’t expect others to.

You don’t have to stay away from raids out-right. Just be sure to not join groups that are grouping for an experienced-only kill — unless you reach a point you are experienced yourself. You can do this by forming your own practice/teaching/learning runs, or joining a guild that is specialized towards such things.
Just try to think in their shoes; imagine that you are only really rewarded for beating something challenging, and need 9 other people to help you do it. You only have a couple hours to get it done, and success depends entirely on the competency of your group. So you post in lfg for people who can be on “your level” and beat the boss in 1-6ish tries. However, despite posting for those experienced, people join you who may not even know all the mechanics. You really don’t have the time to explain how everything works — you advertised for a group that could hit the ground running. So you kick that person or whatnot, and are called out for being “an elitist jerk.”
That is not to say there are not elitist jerks out there, but the problem is a two-way street.

Yep, exactly, they feel entitled to an on-demand teacher who will hold their hand through the game. Unfortunately for them this god given birthright that they imagine they have does not exist and they get salty when people don’t respect it.
Perhaps one day these people will finally understand that it is not acceptable to demand that a total stranger sacrifices their time and entertainment to sit there and teach you. It is 100% their choice whether they want to do that or not, not yours, and flaming them when they choose not to is the real toxic and mean ideology.

I was raiding 15 years ago in EQ when death could cost you levels, and people could loot/kill steal. Blah, Blah, Blah, I all that and a whole bag of chips, look at how great I am, or some such.
Let me clue you in friend no one cares.

But sadly, Raids cater to that very exact demographic. Starting to see the problem yet?
