Practice Raid mode
Here is a new idea/thought -
What if, after a raid has been out for 6-8 months (or when the next one is introduced), the devs hand a project off to the guild mission team and let them use the raid instances/ bosses (with as many intact mechanics as make sense) to make new scalable guild missions out of the instance and bosses?
That way, we get a lower difficulty mode and new guild missions at the same time.
Ive always thought guild mission would be the perfect way to keep old content alive and interesting – no reason that couldn’t apply to raids as well.

I think most guilds would want guild missions of new content than rework of old content, and if your guild is organized for guild missions it probably is for raids too, so it is content that they already played.
And easy mode wasn’t for players that dont have guilds?? play solo (pugs ) ?? So it would not be acessible for them too which would make no sense to make it.
A… Practice Mode? Bleh.
To me, it sounds like ANet could take steps to reduce the basic difficulty of these fights while also introducing optional hardmodes. Activating a switch, leaving a mob alive, choosing a different path; some way to alter a boss fight with new mechanics and better rewards, including Achievements, titles, and unique skins. In all likelihood, it’s too late to do this for the first raid, but perhaps in the next one.
I agree with the overall sentiment that people who don’t want to raid won’t raid under any circumstances. People who want to raid but who are intimidated by them need a support channel to help them out; in every successful MMO, this has been provided by guilds. It has to be the same in GW2. Let them attempt the “real” raids, but with a helpful and positive group of people. Not kitten PUGs.
i think a raid practice mode is fine
but not with content removed or so that the raid is made for 5 people
it should still be for 10 people with everythingn the real raid has same timers etc
just the raw HP and Dmg numbers of the bosses reduced by a good chunk
but also 0 rewards in practice mode
it should be 100% for practice
