PuG Stupidity
never argue with stupid, from distance no one can tell the difference
He plays "how he wants";)
I can already hear it…
“Stop telling me how to play!”
“Just worry about yourself!”
“I’ll do what I want!”
“Gotta be a perfect run for that guy I guess.”
“Elitist”
Yeah I guess I get a little kitten over things like this… Can’t even show people how to do something without being called an “elitist”.
As an asura, I do this all the time.”
Was it… a bearbow?
The “who cares” just makes this SO perfect.
Was it… a bearbow?
To answer your question, yes that was a bearbow in the pary. Not the best run but meh, it was a pug group. I just expect people to know how the fight actually works if you are doing a level 10 or higher fractal. :\
I personally wouldn’t blame the guardian too hard for the only reason that when I’m at Maw, I usually play Sword/Focus+Scepter/Focus. I keep the Sc/F for when I want to relax a bit on the last phase (because, hey, this is the 4th fractal and well… pugs). And when I’m Sw/F, I sometimes happen to swap weapons by mistake, rarely but still… it happens. I’d like to mention that if you have retaliation up (stand your ground, for instance) and play with projectiles on the colossi (typically the Sw 3 burst, but also Sc 1), you actually deal more damage to (one of) the colossi than with Sw auto-attack (based on experience, not numbers). But this is purely situational. On the other hand, if the guy played Sc/F for the whole phase, yes, that was stupidity.
Play how you want.

The meta is changing at an alarming rate!
I would have cared, cared so much about how good it would feel for kicking you for being that kind of a smart kitten .
Note if you can not see it the guardian is using scepter on the colossus

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s written that the colossus reflects projectiles, right?
I mean, it’s ok play how you want as long as you don’t complain after being kicked, but not knowing some stuff at lvl 10 fractal (you did jade maw at least 4 times) is too much for even someone who doesn’t know how to read lol
Guess this game is just too hard…
I had a guard in my party that used scepter on those things once. His reply to my “you know they reflect projectiles right?” was “special tactics”. When I asked what those “tactics” were he replied with “I have retaliation”

The third attack in the sword chain also gets reflected, just FYI. Use GS for the colossi instead.

Theoretically, only one person ever had to do jade maw 4 times to get to level 10 fractals. Everybody else could play the odd levels of whoever is the highest. Technically, a level 2 character just out of the starter instance could join a level 10 fractal.
But yes, he really needs to understand reflections.

I could probably use some clarification about that. (Don’t have any classes that really use Retaliation, so I’m not too familiar with it.) So if you have Retal up, you get your projectiles reflected and take damage from it, you trigger your OWN Retaliation on yourself?
And is it possible to double reflect projectiles? (i.e. you use a projectile, he reflects it, you also pop a reflect skill. What happens then?)
I find that the lower the fractal level the longer the run is…

That’s the point! Put your retaliation up, use Sword 3. It gets reflected dealing dmg to you, but thanks to retaliation, you actually deal way more dmg to the colossus than the sword auto-attack. Granted you get some dmg (because of reflect), but nothing you can’t manage.

I think you hit the maximum number of reflections at 1, which is to say, you can’t reliably re-reflect projectiles. I do not, however, know whether they just pass through a barrier or get absorbed as non-entities.
Projectile ownership is quite interesting in this game some times as well.
On another note, “I have retaliation!” will be my battle cry from now on.

Haha, you just don’t know. I have run w/ 1 group at level 59 couple days ago and the skill level is just unbelievable bad. And you think if they got to this level they must be good, yes?
It’s all come down to 2 thing: who taught them the tactic at the 1st place and they believe that’s the way to go w/o looking for answers already available by googling & youtube. These people are very easy to rage quit, insulting others because they blame others for their failure. Never fail and it happens everywhere, pug or no pug.
