Raid difficulty is perfect
That’s what they said about dungeons 3 years ago. Currently raids are already on farm mode for top guilds, once pugs can start farming them, then I think raid might be too easy.

Nice gz!
Now I’m waiting for the threads about raids being too easy and boring, that will surely emerge soon (as a matter of fact, a few already did).
I’m still working with my casual guild to get VG down, so whether some guilds get it to farm status or not doesn’t really affect me. For me, the fact that it always enforces a high competency and skill level and gear awareness is great. If in 2 years I’m still doing this raid wing, it will still be as challenging and personally rewarding as it is right now because the mechanics are there and it’s not just an HP sponge. That’s the difference between this and old dungeons.
All content will eventually get on farm status, the question is how frequently they will release new raids so we do not lack challenging content.
While they are a bit forgiving ( “one shot” mechanics doing 90%" should be one shot instead ) they are still intense and can easily wipe your team if someone space out for a second.
Timer should probably be tighter but that would perhaps only cause one comp to become the be all and end all.
For a first raid they hit the spot, hopefully next wings are a step up!.
Never found the timer to be an issue, even our Sabetha kill last night had one party member dead at around 55% of the boss’ HP, and we still got it in just under the time limit (although just barely in that case with the massive DPS loss).
The difficulty is high enough to give a great sense of accomplishment for beating the fights, but yet lax enough that you have plenty of room for mistakes and non-optimal builds/party comp. After getting experienced with the fights, the biggest “difficulty” seems to be accepting Anet’s bugs and latency issues.
What you just described is exactly why raids are not tuned hard enough. Raids are not something a PuG should be able to learn and beat within a few hours/days/weeks. You average PuG group should take until January to clear this wing, if at all. Realize, this content should be, and needs to be lasting months. The next wing is not going to be coming out until sometime around February of next year.
Now, I do actually consider this first raid wing a success as it is a very good starting point. It is most definitely a rough, primitive version of a raid, but that is honestly what you should expect out of a company doing their first raid. Now the onus is on Anet to ramp up their difficulty to the “running the servers on the tears of raiders” level.
I really like the raid difficult, its easy compared with other games, but i think its hard enough for GW2, in my opinion perfect.
