most of the time I’ve raised the point in dungeons or really anywhere, I hear an answer something along the line of ‘I don’t need to do dps, I heal the group and keep everybody alive’ – be it staffguards or eles staying in water (without a conjure ofc) etc.
so for all those people, which I’d put in the casual group, a DPS meter would in no way be a problem, as they don’t see dps as their goal and thus, it wouldn’t disturb their gameplay at all as far as I understand.
I think the negative impact on most players would probably be minimal (yes, the very vocal ones would cry rivers in the forums, as always with any new feature/balance patch).
I’d really like some form of dps meter, but please, make it in a zone where I can freely change traits to personalize a decent stolen build around my needs (i.e. for anything except dungeons I often forego the best build to get easier access to swiftness).
if that’s not feasible, a change to training dummies would be great – accepting conditions and behaving like a real enemy plus a timer how long it took to destroy would help a ton.
or, maybe, make damage calculation, trait bonuses etc, transparent enough theorycrafting actually works without all the guessing ;-)
