Nah, that looked full legit from where I sit. Very impressive use of your shadow stepping to get in and out as needed.

yea the first time I went down at the end there was cause I thought I used my 2 ability to have return ready but I didn’t. That’s why I got caught in the bubble

one thing that really hurt me was the dodging bug where you dodge on the spot. Got me stuck in something more times than I could count :s

And if I did anything considered an exploit while doing this, I didn’t know/notice it

How can you use heal by mouse click on icon? It really faster using shortcut. Nice fight btw.

oh 1 thing I probably should mention is on one attempt when Lupi was against the wall, my shadow steps sent me through the wall and into arah p4. I did do some exploring, killed the turrets hoping for a free chest at the end but no worries, everything remained closed and I didn’t get a reward.

About time that someone does it on Thief. That Infiltrator’s Strike is just godly.

This came up on the necro forums earlier today. I think the bane would be the siphon move he does in phase three that ticks 3-4 times. Since necros have no vigor, you would most certainly be eating some of that every time. While we could use DS stability to get out of the bubble, the shear number of mobility moves and/or immunities required to avoid the constant projectiles would be something to watch.

Phase two would be bad as well… Just not enough evades with no vigor.

I use mouse click as well. I actually unbind my heal skill from my keyboard so I don’t accidentally use it trying to do something else. The mouse click means my brain has a moment to think about if I really need it or not, and thus I don’t end up wasting heals in dire situations.

Gosh, I thought I was the only one who do the same thing… Now I relieved.

Okay, so we know a Thief can do this. It seems only logical since they have such high evading capabilities. Warriors used to be able to do solo this guy, but I’m not sure about now. Have there been any other reported professions able to solo Lupicus (proof or very well argued theories)?

My guess of other possible professions:
Elementalist, Guardian, Mesmer(?)

I did it on my guardian with a scepter and again with a sword. Wethospu did it after the reckless dodge patch with his warrior. They are all on youtube.

Gotta say I am really impressed. Those two times you went down you had the ability to dodge it and get away, but just must have flubbed it. I feel like you could do a full solo run despite those moments.
That being said, you had some incredible thief play. I’ll have our dudes here take a look at it to make sure nothing funky is going on or something isn’t broken, but from my point of view this was just a nice classy run. Great job!

Use heal dodge back + 1 dodge then f1 or sword 2 back to lupi and you’ll dodge every time. If your heal is on recharge double dodge back then f1 or sword 2 back. Repeat for all of phase 2 and youll be left with 1 dodge roll in case of claw attack at all times.

Why run a Condi build that needs Traps to pull decent DPS when you can run a Power build and run utilities to help you live while doing more DPS.

It’s a no brainer.

thanks but I just blink out and wait for the 2nd volley to spawn then go back in. When I do that I save any and all dodges possible just in case something bad happens and I need my dodges right meow

Now I wonder if Engies can do it.

and @ Rob, I’ve very often been the saving grace of my Arah teams with Ranger on Greatsword. Counter Attack is an amazing skill not to mention Power Stab timing to evade the little things. Mainhand sword could, but most probly wouldnt be so good though with the way the #1 chain makes you stick to the target therefore reducing your overall mobility.

Bah nerfed lupi, u should try soloed in the start of the game,,

I disagree on the elementalist POV… it’s really not that bad or “impossibly” hard it is a bit difficult. With D/D or S/D there are enough heals and evades that make it quite possible, even focus might be a good idea for the projectile reflect.

I’m working on it with my elementalist, I can get him to stage 2, and I get downed halfway through it due to mistakes in dodging unnecessarily. Need some more practice though… I’ll post a video with a successful kill!

You should try soloing him then. With all those invulnerabilities an ele has, I’m sure it could be done easily if the person has the know how. Probably would need scepter focus but idk, not really an ele player

I haven’t been using EA since october, but yea, ele can definitely do it, though you have less room for error than with warrior/guardian. There are a lot of skills to get out of the bubble.

Necromancers have 0 utilities. That’s why it would be difficult for them to fight GL.
Fighting this boss is not about damage, but it’s about the capability to dodge/evade
all/most of his attacks. Necromancers no way of obtaining Vigor. They don’t have IMMUNITY, and at most, they have Stability, but they would need all 30 points put into Soul Reaping. They also do not have any abilities with hidden dodge or movement.
At most, they can teleport with a Worm, but it will most likely (over 90% of the time) die from the AoE. Plus, using it will kill the Worm. We have ZERO endurance gains.

Elementalists have lots of Utility, healing, and survivability. I can see the possibilities here. I don’t think anyone is unaware of their large potentials in all areas of the game.

Engineers have lots of Blinds + Blocking. I’m not sure if they have Stability or movement utility spells. This could be up for debate.

I was just telling my friend who has FIVE RANGERS that I expected him to upload me a video of him soloing lupicus by end of day. With this encouragement, I’ll expect it by end of work day.

I never did a full Lupi solo on my Ele nor seen a video of it, so i can’t really say “Yes.”

Engi running Speedy Kits and the trait that grants Vigor when you have Swiftness, 30 in Tools for the 50% Endurance trait. Run some form of long range kit like grenades or elixir gun.
