Alright, haven’t had much trouble with most explorable dungeons but this boss, with 3 Nightmare Court Knights was kicking our butts left and right. Knights will constantly charge / knockdown combo while the boss leaps and does 5-10k hits, dmg spikes (3 knockdown combo + boss leaping over someone is just overkill) are just very hard to avoid. Only seen one video where they kill one of the knights while they wiped, and later proceeded to complete the encounter with the much more manageable 2 knights and boss.

So any ideas on how to manage this encounter without wiping at all? Tactics we used where trying to burn one down while someone rooted, CC’ed the rest, sooner or later stuff just becomes too chaotic and the charge/knockdowns will murder someone. Was also thinking maybe have the party get some defensive gear instead of going all glass cannon, still though, the dmg is very overwhelming. Of course there’s also the possibility that knights are just overtuned in general, still, I’m sure there’s gotta be a way to do the encounter properly

My group and I pretty much pulled the whole thing, ran way back until the pull started leashing back, then intercepted one of the knights with CC, disables (moa, net, static, etc.) and just burst one down. One by one the knights will bug out and die, and the boss is so much easier. I honestly do not see how the devs planned on anyone doing this fight with 3 knights and a boss, I don’t think a coordinated group playing perfectly could do this to be honest. Knights are way overtuned (their charge-stun-dead ability is ridiculous).

Yeah, my group and I are pretty disappointed with current dungeon design, although it does feel pretty good to beat an “impossible” encounter. Good luck!

This is pretty much what you have to do on that pull, unfortunately. Hopefully ArenaNet will take a look at that group of enemies because the hammer knights are pretty ridiculous.

The main problem with Nightmare Court Knights and certain Hammer-wielding enemies is their lack of Cooldown and wind-up between their AOE Knockdowns. Melees will be spending the entire fight dodging, so much so that the only viable method is to kite them to death. But that method is only viable against one, at most two, enemies in a wide-open room, not the narrow Volatile Blossom-filled area of the Nursery.
