Why Don't Players Use Potions
People that use either magic find food or none at all I generally diagnose as a noob. I too notice the lack of potion use, but lack of food use too. I don’t care if not everyone has the money for truffle steaks. You can at least buy the low tier food or something like mango pies.
about a year ago i helped a friend in arah, i still had +30% MF food from farming loadstones and then it happend…a trash mob dropped the legend, since that day, i always run around with +30MF food, even in WvW (commanders are not happy) but at least i also always use the other buffood, the wrench(how the kitten you call them?) for more dmg on specific mobs
but tbh i alsways forgett it for cof or se because a run is over so fast that i just forget about using them even though they are in my inventar

Oh man back in the CoF days, it took me a while to use the omnom bars. I knew I would make up the money in 1 run using it but I was like, “nahhhh.” I started using it when I got a more consistent group.

Why don’t players use potions? well because PvE is stupid easy, potions take up space and I just don’t care enough for it.
PvE is stupid easy
stupid
easy
I’m sorry if you feel that this game is too hard for you but that’s not my problem.

I’m sorry that you were stupid enough to bite, but that’s alright.

You never disappoint me.
And yeah, I forget about potions but I never forget about being awesome.
UI needs special bar for potions

I never use potions because I don´t need them. Is that satisfying answer? :-D
I can survive any dungeon without being realiability to team – yes, rangers can be glass like but it is matter of proper build, armor and skills.
Potions need crafting (money sink), buying from TP (money sink), merchants (money sink) with very poor effect not worthy of mentioning.

Yeah, okay, we all learned from this thread that 10% damage is a minor thing.
God bless the playerbase.

Money sink? It’s literally 1 silver for a potion. Get a stack of them and it’s literally 2.5g for your next 250 runs of whatever path you use it on.

Well let’s take this 10% dmg potion into context of groups in gw2.
Im going to ASSUME that most of the people that don’t run potions are usually PHIWs and are in a non elite guild.
-First they are already running suboptimal builds which has a more profound dps loss.
-Second they might not be wearing berserker gear, even more dps loss.
-Third this is most important, they probably don’t stack might/vuln.
-Fourth believe or not but dungeons are mainly running from one place to another, most don’t use swiftness, big time waster.
Now if you factor in this, they have already lost so much time, so another drop in the bucket is nothing?

I fall into the “I forgot, my bad” category more often than I would like.
I have them parked in my bank and usually grab them when I move out of town to do dungeons but if I switch characters along the way I tend to forget to grab some for the new character (I usually use oil or sharpening stones in that case, because that’s something all my toons carry with them).
Or I forget to check which potion is still running from the evening before.
you may keep them to rear new and interesting variants in your basement.
I have a few potions in my inventory. but..I always forget to use them =.=’
