Why does no one do Dungeon anymore?
They’re old content and aren’t as rewarding as the newer stuff. So people just hold off on them. Also they haven’t been touched in ages, doesn’t help either.
My suggestion would be finding a guild that still does them.

Not withstanding the gold and the tokens you can exchange for rares.
Lets say that you don’t have any dungeon recipes. If you choose dungeons over and including CoF for seven of the paths and choose Aetherpath for your last path (weapon skin from end chest can be worth anywhere between 3g to 20g); you are going to get 26-28 rares from tokens, around 50 ish silver from each path that accounts to more or less 4 g, 5 g more from chest reward and atleast 3 more from Aetherpath end chest weapon – which isn’t all that bad. There is the champ bags, additional loot/salvage and even some Lodestones you can get from bosses.
If you happen to have some good dungeon recipes, you will beat most other gold methods out of the water. Of course, you need a good group to run these fast and efficiently, but what are guildies for anyway?
Honestly most dungeons are pretty easy to finish in under 10-15 min even without a “good” group. As long as at least 1 person knows what you can skip, and tells the other players, its usually a fast run on most dungeons
Well, Aetherpath is still not done as fast with your average pug – but even then its easy to finish them fast.
The major reason is the fact that we did not see dungeons change in years apart from the reward changes (big nerf and eventual rework). They aren’t new, they aren’t exiting, they aren’t up to date and it even feels like ArenaNet pretends they do not exist.
We no longer play the game from four years ago where dungeons were by far the best way of making money, money which then was used to buy pretty much everything from exotics to legendaries or materials to craft those. Or better explained “the best way of acquiring everything you want”.
You are simply forced to spend a lot of time playing HoT maps for accound bound materials now. Many places outside of dungeons will also reward you with ascended weapons, armor and trinkets nowadays.
Dungeons can not compete with that anymore. It doesn’t matter if the gold rewards through liquid gold as well as the trinket recipes are good if another place will flat out drop you the ascended gear you need.
The only ones who actively play dungeons now are some veterans with dungeon recipes and no real need for ascended drops from fractals. Basically those who already acquired everything they want.

There is like 5 of these threads but lets do this.
1- New Content
Whether its a new map, achievement points, or simply getting the new skins. None of it revolves around dungeons. We have bladed weapons, map completion for HOT areas, raids, (which are new, fun and very rewarding) and a ton of new currency for doing the new events.
2- Old Content
Not only have a few of us already ran 1k dungeons, we did it when exotics armor and the 10-30-30 trait system was around. With full ascended gear, food, and the increase of everything from healing to cc, dungeons are not really any challenge. Even before HOT people were selling Arah paths by 2 people clearing a dungeon. 1 waits to fill and sell it off and the other starts clearing the next one solo. That was simply with the 30-30-30 trait system.
Now lets add in nerfs to rewards and Anet not updating anything about them since the Ac path 2 ghost mechanics. If anet wanted people to run dungeons they could simply add in a Guild Hall decoration. Bam new decoration creates a new currency for the dungeon and people will want it but they dont. Anet gives off the feeling of not caring about dungeons at all which has rubbed off on the community.
3- Time
You look at alot of these areas, silver wastes is dead. The new blood stone fen area is dead. You add in the PvP seasons with beta map achievements that also grant titles. Unless you dont have anything to do, there is not enough time. I personally run fractals since ill make really good gold, potential ascended drops, new weapon skins (fractal and gold fractal skins) and that takes what 1 hour+ then you got WvW, PvE, PvP, world boss train, and HOT meta events where people are getting 30-100 ecto in a single run.
All in all there is no incentive to do dungeons in any from unless someone literally asks you to help do a dungeon which most people do not.
It depends on dungeon tho – there’s reasons to do some; practical – monk runes for ex only way to get those is do Ascalon. Depending on time of day that one is not hard to get going. Some others too. And tbh, w/ 1 person who knows paths, esp if ur all 80, u don’t need a full group.
it definitely sucks for newer players like me tho I’ve played 7 months I’ve barely done any dungeons and they are fun. But, I totally get why not; and anets been clear no plans to change/update them.
Most of the time its easier to duo/trio them with people that you know actually know the dungeon rather than pugging extra spots.
