More than six month ago, Robert Hrouda posted on the forums that the cap that was put on fractals was because we didn’t have enough AR for it yet. His exact words were:

It was never intended that you could get higher without further AR gear that has not yet been released. […] Each new piece of AR gear is meant to allow you to progress to further fractal levels, which have increasingly better rewards compounding with higher scaling difficulty.

Since then, we got many new pieces of AR: amulets, earrings and now weapons. Yet, there’s still nothing said about finally letting us go to the fractals at level 50+, even though we now have almost twice the AR we had back then…

Having this content capped, doing the same levels we were doing back then, for so many month, is quite long, and I know quite a few players who completely stopped fractals, and gw2 for some, because of it.

Please, uncap the higher levels of fractals. We now have twice the AR we had back then, so higher levels of daily should now be available to us.

Really needs to happen. I’ve got 55 AR now. I’m 5 AR off taking 0 damage in 48s.

When ascended armour comes out, and we all get an extra 30 AR, capable of taking 1% damage per tick at level 58 is that where you say ’Alright, now you can have 50s"

This is not a problem of letting the general community get to that level, but giving the hardcore players a level to play at, with a level of prestige to it. What prestige is there in 48s anymore? None really. The guys running CoF 1 all day every day are there with 5 or 6 fractal weapons. They’re just a skin now.

I want to be able to put up an LFG for a level 68 and know that just by joining, my group will be some of the best players I’ve ever played with.

Please, uncap fractals. Literally anyone with full infused ascended, which as it currently stands takes maybe a month to get if they try, can do 48s. They don’t have to be skilled, they don’t have to be able to communicate to a party. Hell, they don’t even have to dodge anymore. Do what needs to be done.

Has anyone confirmed if 50+ is still locked out. I would love to know now that I have 55 AR on my ranger.

Just tried it. 55 ar still dies instantly (that is, goes from full hp to dead in one tick) at level 58. Pretty disappointing.

Yup, a group of us tried it as soon as the update was done. Def not possible, we tried Banner rez’s, guardian tome, 99% trick, rez orbs, a combination of the above, Nothing worked…

Seriously what gives? We can do 48’s with 45Ar but not 58’s with 55Ar.

The content is in the game, available and imo currently some of the most compelling as well as “Hard” content out there, why stop us from doing it? If you want to cater to more casual players please do, but don’t alienate those interested in the higher levels! I just don’t get the logic…

I mean, I love fractals and not just for the skins, as do many people around me, I even hit max level: 80 a couple of months ago. A long journey of working my way up through 32 levels of reward-less punishing content, and what have i got to show for it?

I had a really good friend who I played levels 60 through to 80 with, we even reached it on the same run… Ah good times!
Well I haven’t seen him online since about a week after that famous run…
And that’s a kitten shame, but hey, what do you expect?

Oh and I heard he ate Colin J’s last ice cream sandwich without replacing them. Big no no.

If I had to guess, they will unlock higher levels in Fractals when they release the 3 new fractals later this year.

the only rly challanging pve content (fractals 70+ imho) can only be done if you know someone, who can open it for you

me and my friends hit lvl 80 1-2 weeks ago, in the end it was rly hard and even without any rewards we had a good time

why anet dont gives us the chance to get skins/big fractal relics??

Thanks all for testing that out so fast! Really sad that it is not possible to go for 50+ now. I hate the idea of the ascended weapons (for my guardian alone i use 12 different weapons) – but even having those weapon(s) will not help? wtf…

They should make Dredge Thieves that steal AR and use the stolen bundle to inflict Agony. That would be amazing!

I think dredges should use their digging technology to randomly appear in every single fractal. Not just a few dredges of course, the complete repoping bandwagon thing with the boss!
This way, no more avoiding them.
And then they steal AR.

I think there should also be a bonus event at every single Fractal end boss where the Dredge clown car digs out of the ground and Rabsovich and crew come out to play. That would be good.

Depends if you consider using tomes as a work around.

I hope they never open up 50+. Actually, if they scaled the rewards the way they scale agony, I would change my opinion.

But yeah, revamp rewards first, and then open up higher difficulty.

With new rewards I may actually start doing fracs again. Then i can finish getting backpieces for alts. Atm i cant be bothered as the only thing I want from fracs is a fractal sword and relics. But im not desperate for the relics and I will probably never have the luck to get the sword so its not worth my time.

My Wayfarer’s back piece got a nice upgrade with the patch yesterday

Is it to presumptuous to assume they will allow us to loot ascended weaponry in fotm 50+ ?

I think they’ll change all of the Fractal weapons to Ascended stats TBH. Especially since they have the untransmute stone now. I’m sure the Fractal skins will have random stats though and be random levels.

Necros can live through 48 maw ar ticks with no help as long as they have FULL life force. I’ve had to do it before when some of my party members ended up killing us all at the maw.

Made them all die over and over to get their life force and then proceeded to eat all the ticks.

I can t say if and how hard is to use a tome.
I don t use a guardian.

What i can say is more than 50% guardians from gw2lfg miss it at maw.

Now that you have 55 AR it’s all good now.

I was asking if someone with AR 55 tried it….

I expect (I hope) that they are waiting until people have a chance to craft a few ascended weapons. When they release the new fractals, I imagine (I hope) they will also raise the cap. Time will tell.

In order to survive the Jade Maw in Difficulty Scale 50+, one of these three things needs to happen:

1. You find an exploit to bypass the mechanic.
2. The designers lower the current damage value of its Agony attack. (1172%)
3. You gain around 950 total Agony Resistance.

Just have to wait for someone to remove that extra “1”. It was designed to be impossible and it’s pretty bulletproof right now.

i just have ele and mesmer
since ele is really hard to combo out at maw and almost impossible if you get targeted, and mesmer is impossible to keep alive alone….

I’d like to have 1 character not depending on random guardians…

Because i m a bad player that thinks that pugging is fun due to different party compositions and original tactics you happen to see.

But being 100% in the hands of Others annoys me too much

You can’t keep Mesmer alive on its own…? I mean, you have like 80% uptime on reflects, Vigor on crit, and Blurred Frenzy. Not to mention loads of Dazes and a solid HP pool.

None of which works on Maw agony. If he only has 45ar, a mesmer can’t survive maw agony on it’s own.

No excuse for that anymore. Get geared.

Why do you think they added ascended weapons and armor coming sometime soon. Just watch, when the ascended armor drops, well get more fotm zones/content.

Considering that one of the future fractals will be inspired by the molten facility (but not an actual carbon copy of the dungeon), and that dredges are the most loved mobs here, I am grinning from ear to ear at the thought of what may actually happen once they’re done working on that fractal. 48 molten will be a gift that keeps on giving.

The thought of getting both molten and underground facility on the same roll! Think about the possibilities!
