Because the game stats are taking 119% as a number and not as a probability, if they take as a probability, should not show more than 100%

Many mathematicians but I guess zero actual Anet programmers.
How come that you can have over 100% magic find and still….find nothing.
It should be the same math, right?
Maybe they both work in the same way?
Roll a dice to see if you will crit. and then apply a coefficient of 0.1% if you have 100 % critical chance.
From my understanding, this is how MF works.
Of course, I might be wrong and that is why…
until someone from Anet answers this, everything is pure speculation.

The OP is using the Norn elite Become the Wolf, which adds points to one’s base attributes of 2.5x Power and 2x Precision, Toughness and Vitality. For example, I’ll post before and afters…

“Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones.”

Thats the only answer that make sense. Else it is simply not possible .. those are stats
as if you wear zerker and soldiers gear together.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

3531 attack? 30k HP? 3.37k def? 210% crit dmg? That must be PvP, right? Those kinds of stats are unobtainable anywhere else (I’m only guessing, I don’t play PvP). I’m guessing you’re running.. zerker gear with what looks like assassin trinkets and Lunaria.

Stats are higher in PvE, so it is most likely PvE.

You just don’t play Anet’s favorite class most likely. If you aren’t a Warrior then you can’t get those stats. Most classes need to make a trade off. I.E. high damage low survivability. Warriors just get the highest of everything.

I play PvE and that combination of stats is entirely unobtainable as a warrior even running full signets. I do not play PvP.

There’s no such thing as a “double crit.” More than 100% crit chance is definitely a waste.

I assume they still allow more than 100% to be displayed so that you can know whether you have reached 100%, or gone over, and by how much.

Not a total waste as there are traits and sigils that have a chance to proc on crit which means the higher the better. But it would be a marginal increase of course and most likely not worth sacrificing other stats.

Apologies to those who may find my posts on GW2 forums offensive and hateful.

Not only does it make sense, it’s what is actually happening, per the OP.

… I just noticed this happens whenever i use “become the wolf” and I’m curious about the mechanics)

I’ve also played Ranger and Warrior with 100% crit chance, even with exotic full Berserker gear,

  • For Warrior, I had Runes of Rage, so I used Fury boon, Signet of Fury, T5 Maintenance oil, Superior Sigils of Accuracy and Perception. Taking out Signet of Fury, I would need food that gives atleast 70 preci, Deep Strike and two other signets.
  • For Ranger, I had Runes of the Ranger, so I achieved the 100% with Fury boon, T5 Maintenance oil, Superior Sigils of Perception and Accuracy
Hmm… Can’t reach it, tho I haven’t been doing these stuff combos for a while…

Tho Warriors and Thieves can buff precision with their signets…

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
