Since my 10k post went well, I thought I’d update you all.

Just hit 15k achievement points.

12k from salvaging repeatable?

What’s your technic? Just salvage?

I’m around 3.5k, not using any farm :P

according to your screen your far behind me in wvw pvp ( as for pve I have dungeonmaster all jp mkg events ect and fractals lvl 48.. so whats the point of the screen like showing that you can salvage as mutch as you want every day?
you played gw1 and you made 500g achievment points before fix with transmuting?

I mean those points won’t make you a better player:) skill is not based on salvages per hour or daily made every day it’s just sad that you can get such achiement points.

Where’s the legendary? I mean, 15k achievement points is a lot of dailys/salvaging/jumping puzzles/dungeons/etc (possibly), thus money, so where’s the legendary?

If he got his points by salvaging, it’s minimum 1 gold for 10 points. So 12k points… 1200 gold? (though less if he sells what he salvaged) I doubt he has any money left after this. :P

Is there any practical reason to aim for that amount of points at all? I mean besides bragging rights, thou i wouldnt brag with anything achieved in game really…not like its changing the world.

Thanks to all the well wishers. Hope you guys get whatever it is you’re aiming for.

So that’s who’s buying all those Basic weapons in the Trading Post.
I was wondering who would want to pay for that.

Wowowow, I think I have a found the technic. 20 points made since my last post, and I haven’t lost a copper.

1. Buy white/blue items for 8-10 coppers at TP.
2. Buy Crude Salvage Kits.
3. Salvage everything.
4. Sell mats at TP (copper worth the most, 12 copper/ea).
5. Return to step 1.

No loss of money, but hell, it’s grindyyyyy. Now that I’ve tried, I respect him for having 12k points this way. 100 points a day this way… would be a lot.

Im sorry but i really dont see why are you guys so negative ? Guy is trying to share something he cares about ingame , and i guess he is good in what he does.

Still, the fact that he even posted about it here means that he’s trying to achieve recognition and/or praise for it. If it truly was a meaningless achievement that he’s doing for his own amusement, why bother posting about it on the forums at all? People never show something to other people unless they want a reaction, whether positive or negative, from them.

Having 20k achievement but not knowing every nook and cranny in the game or having a legendary is like..

A thief walking around with dual incinerators and dreamer. But he has no crafts leveled and no star next to his name. Gets killed easily by another thief with no legendaries. Has no alternate characters. And when asked “How did you get 3 legendaries??” He goes “Ummm…” <insert w/e excuse here>

You don’t need a star next to your name to own your legendary. Why? Because you can craft it on your other alternates and equip it on another character.

And it is usually easier crafting legendaries using multiple characters

I fail to see why people have such a denigrating attitude towards a person walking around with a legendary but no star beside the name.

I’ve had my fair share of that negative attention which really baffles me, ANET gave you 5 character slots.

2 achievment-points are given each 250 salvages, so removing the usual 4k achievementpoints from that time we’d be at around 11k you did trough a repeatable task. 11.000/2*250 = 1.375.000 Million items salvaged – really!?! Even using the lowest amount of 15 copper for each item that would cost around 2062,50 Gold.

Really?!?! Nowadays it would be doubled in price … over 4000 Gold.
I can’t think of anyone doing it without using the system to their purpose …

owertraders are hurting the economy for everyone – inflation happens and as a result the trading prices for gold/gems are going up and everything gets more expensive. Their only buffer right now is the gold/gem trading right now, but it ’s beging to rip apart sooner or later.

Put an limit to the amount of auctions per day/week/month and the amount of gold made per day/week/month with the auction house. I don’t mean ridicusly low amounts but limits that hurt powertraders and goldsellers. Like 250g per day traded (selling and buying included, single pricey auctions excluded, like selling one legendary), 500g per week traded (both directions, single pricey auctions excluded), 750g per month traded (both directions, single pricey auctions excluded). If the limit is up either put their tradings to hold for a short timeframe or dynamically adjust the amount of auction house fees like (>45% and up).

This was posted when it was possible to get unlimited points from dismantling items. There is now a limit to how much you can get, and those who got more then the limit had those points removed. This was all done several months ago and bringing this dead thread up is not useful in any way.

He’s not that at anymore, you can see the achievement leader boards and the highest is almost at 11k. All of his money he put into salvaging for achievement points has been wasted.

You forget that back those days you could salvage stacks of metal scraps or other salvageable things and even make money with it.

I’m sitting at around 8300. I can’t imagine how much time and energy people with 11,000 achievement points have put into this game.

Meaning I’ve put effort into it, I can’t imagine putting much more into it than I have. lol

U guys remember the time when dailys gave 5 points each category? It was easy to do 25 a day at least…Im way to bored to do them all day. But that explains the difference of some 1k’s.

I wonder what the limit is with the salvagable achievment points…what is the maximum number of points u can get from it now?

Btw: 5 firecitadel p1 runs are also 5 achievment points if u are dungeon master.

Took me awhile to find him/her on the Leaderboards. They must have taken ALOT of points away. Kinda sad. At least he/she had fun getting there. =)

At least now we know that people can get their AP reduced if they do indeed use some extreme ways to achieve them.

And in my opinion it ’s better to bump way old threads when their content matches before posting 50 new threads for the same topic all over the forum like some people tend to do …

Well, so far it’s just bragging.

Since 9th of July achivement points will reward stuff, so, who knows.

Well concerning the blogpost you’ll even get accountwide bonuses to magic find, gold find and more stats so I guess it really helps now (aside from the skins).

I really hope they put a limit or a clever system to it from the beging otherwhise we ’ll all know what will happen sooner or later … exploits, nerfs, whines …

What I’m talking about are the stat-bonuses applied like magic find. But I guess its only natural that they ’ll make them add either fixed amounts or dynamic amounts and put a limit to it.

Why is the top achieve score on the leaderboards 10k going to meme and not you?

Well didn’t they say that there would be permanent bonuses?

I could see a 10% MF increase per 1000 points.

The point of the thread – what little it had – was lost months ago, when the cap for repeated achievements created. Someone necroed it for some strange reason, I guess to complain about things that aren’t really a problem, like usual.

There should be an irremovable title after salvaging so many items.
