Kind of sad and pathetic that you do this AFTER the launch of an expansion and make people play the game with a clearly inferior and extremely unstable 32bit client.

Terrible terrible planning on your part.

Unless wasting hours of peoples times with your bad programming and servers was part of the “experience”.
Maybe the threat of Modremoth crashing the game or disconnecting you and making you lose all participation (whoever thought of the idea of linking participation to the map is an idiot, or a bunch of idiots period) was you trying to make him feel more threatening…

Better late then never I suppose, though at least this teaches me the lesson never to buy software from you company again until at least a month or more later when you clearly figure out what you’re even doing.

I just downloaded the 64 bit client on my laptop today and was able to see other player’s armor for the first time as I was able to play with autodetect selected for graphics instead of low for best performance. I have had no additional problems with this, that last fight in the living story though….

Next time we’ll put you in charge of it.

Used the 64 bit client the whole evening yesterday, about 8 hours, and did all kinds of things that often caused crashes like Karka queen. Not a single crash. 32-bit would have crashed 2-3 times in that time.

Maximum memory usage I noticed was 5,7 GB at Karka.

There is still some kind of problem that also excists in the 32-bit that it starts to get choppy after couple of hours.

Have seen much better (i.e. no crashes) performance since switching to this client 5 days ago.
However, the news page @ login never comes up…

It’s better but I’m still crashing at the best of times like Mouth of Mordremoth at 10%…

I don’t see the news page at login either, and I haven’t installed the 64b client, so I don’t think those two are related.

No crashes with the 64 bit client (not one). However, it does get a bit sluggish and the memory usage just seems to grow, though that doesn’t surprise me as a consequence of moving from 32 bit to 64 bit. Still it would be good to plug any memory leaks.

I’ve also had significantly more network issues (but only with the game — no problems with browsing or anything else), but I have no way of telling if that’s client-related or just that the servers have been more flaky recently.

I’ve been running the 64-bit client on Win7 since it became available. Absolutely rock solid. No crashes, memory usage is constant once I’m in a map. CPU loading at about 50% on i7. I don’t see frame rate issues at all, and I run for 4-5 hours each night. No restarts.

The failure to load game news on the 64-bit launcher seems to be related to cache file collisions.

Deleting the cache folders solved the problem for me:

C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Temp\gw2cache-*

Since doing that, I can now see news on the 64-bit launcher.

Hope that helps!
