71.43% -- huh?
It was a change for mesmers a ways back. It was probably the percentage needed to increase them to some magic number (10k hp or something).
Probably because we wind up with hp totals like 15,641 or 21,383. There’s a math to determining hp and they would have wanted a specific, round number for minions unlike player hp.
By the way, it would be nice if they released minion health, toughness, power, etc totals. Why be so secretive about it?

Because ANet wants to favor “skill” over theorycrafting.
Play by the seat of your pants in other words…
From the release notes:
“All player-controlled minions, excluding mesmer phantasms and clones because they were already increased in a previous patch, now have 71.43% more hit points in PvE maps.”
Anyone know or want to speculate as to why such a weird number?
I have been to neighborhoods where the posted speed limit is : 13.5 MPH, so yeah, I ask the same question when I see those signs. I think the answer is we will probably never know why such a wierd number.
They probably increased it by a certain number of points, which just happens to amount to that percentage.
I was wondering the same O__O
71.43%? Is just random or there is a reason?
Anyhow, thanks for the buff, now my minions can actually fight against OP mobs (I smell a nerf but well, I’m use to that by now).

I have found my Moas don’t die IMMEDIATELY now, which is handy… but it’s still not quite something I can send in and just forget about.
Which (at least on those grounds) is okay. There’s still some really funky targeting those little guys do that needs a LOT of work yet. I don’t run any pet with an F2 that attacks a mob because there’s still no better than a 50/50 chance it’s gonna be pointing the right way.

HAHAHAHA….. so true…..
