No I am not talking about dulling terrain or making things look crappier. I’m talking about the ability to turn spell effects off, or even setting them to Party only. When I am doing world bosses, I don’t care to see the other 200+ people’s spells. This makes it kind of frustrating.. especially for newer players.

Please come up with some kind of spell managing system where we the players can adjust to our liking. I guarantee if we can tone down the spell effects, we wouldn’t suffer from 18 fps from most world bosses. (I run a GTX 780 Ti card).

its been asked for soooooooooooooooooo many times.

I would like to switch off other players entirely, so not even a basic model, have them gone and their particle effects with them.

Have an option for just part, just guildies. or “low/medium etc”

Most of that you can turn off yourself by adjusting the settings. I know there’s some that think turn everything up cuz moar is better!!! but the truth is if you turn up all the effects you will SEE all the effects. You can eliminate most of that by adjusting these settings.

1. Post processing – Turn it off. Seriously, why do you want to add more effects to that scene?
2. Shaders – Set shaders no higher than Medium. Higher shader settings only enhances lighting effects.
3. Shadows – Play around with the Shadow settings, they can enhance the difference in light effects.

Here is the difference I get between having those 3 items turned down or turned up.

Correct. The left pic has those 3 settings turned down, removing most of the unwanted particle effects.

Also, I know some players use Sweet FX….. Unless you have found the 1% of presets that actually tone down effects rather than enhance them I would turn that off. It’s great for screenshots but it’s cancer for combat.

Yeah I read what it said, but I don’t see any difference at all.

I guess what I was trying to say.. some feature that would completely turn off all spell effects, or maybe just make it self only.. that way you don’t have to look at everyone elses stuff.. maybe with the exception of legendary effects?

I made a thread about advanced graphical options yesterday:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestion-Advanced-graphics-options

Feel free to read it, I covered the issues with particles in it.
