Age of GW2 Players
I’m in my teens and I love GW2. My friends are all around my same age and we all have lots of fun playing together. Of course, we barely know what we’re doing half the time but we still have lots of fun exploring, crafting outfits, and doing the hearts and events quests. We don’t really get to play much but when we do we have lots of fun.

43…
Not loving it…not hating it (usually)…its ok enough.
Maybe because I have a lot of time to play, but I would like raid like content. Something that you dont have to do, but is there for you and your guild to get together on. Not just random strangers waiting for a mob to spawn every 3 hours.
WvW is bordering on fail imo.
This game is pretty easy on your time tho. Anyone can play and everyone is pretty much the same gear wise. Which is great for casual players. A drag for those that play more and want more challenge etc. Run out of stuff to want to get.
61+…..as the name suggests……….enjoying it so far…..time to start leveling alts
48, and enjoying GW2 allot. Former WoW addict, but I really hate the gear grind , so stopped playing. GW2 seems like a blast of fresh air in comparison to WoW.
I also help run a guild on Devona’s Rest called Euclidean Plane, for mature players only.
Been playing video games since I had to load them into my Apple IIe with a tape recorder.
Most my guild and I are in our early 20s and most of us still enjoy this game. Some of us also skipped alot of content rushing to 80 at headstart and still all play. Some went toWoW again since most their friends still played it but none the less…
I pretty much agree with you Alex …
I am really hoping for some instanced areas like raids for guilds and I think they might add it later on …
point is you paid 60 or 80 or 150 whatever and you can enjoy freely as long as you want you can take break for few months and then come back to not said that this game was not worth 60$ I just don’t believe it … I got collector’s edition of SWTOR aka worst mmo for past 6 years and I do not regret it because now its going free 2 play and I can see stories for all classes so saying that gw was not worth 60 is BS…
me as really hardcore rpg player competitive lol / dota and wow player I really enjoy amount of small details they put in this game and I am not talking about graphics which
I modded graphics little so its look outstanding not as tw2 but its mmo and I think people are scared to do Aion graphics lvl : //
for your suggestion section … I dont like it .. I think anet should made long detailed surveys as do Good old games or GoG Frequently. The reason for this look at steam greenlight it’s filled with trolls and kitten and there is soo many good games that will never pass greenlight because of trolls yet some AAA trash is getting to steam without problems …
end this went off topic !
so for topic I know few people who still plays they are about 20 to 30 years old

The two reasons I can think of for why younger players might not click with GW2 are a) they play with a group of friends who enjoy a certain kind of gameplay together (and this isn’t it, or not all of them like it), or b) they started gaming at a different time and have different expectations of what an MMO should be.
Personally I’m 23 and love it, but I’m also inclined towards lore, role-play, and casual play, so of course I’m a GW2 fan :P
27, and loving it.
I am 21 and I love the game. I don’t think it’s so much a matter of age but of maturity. I can understand what goes into creating an mmo, the time that fixes take and sometimes lack of one perfect end all be all fix and also that nothing in this world is made for everyone in this world.
16 here, and its the only game, that can keep me sane while doing my massive loads of homework. It is truly an amazing game, even thought I miss the raid aspect of WOW, WvW replaces that for me, and the fact that dungeons are kinda like mini-raids, as they are harder than any other dungeons in other games.
I am 19, and loving my necro. It is hard to find the time (going to college for Game Design), but the weekends and breaks help to help me get my fix. Necro’s could use some love, though. Just had to throw that out there, sorry. XD
Also, this game is very nicely polished. Between the constant events, and the linking of the events, it is hard to stop myself from roaming and doing events. The only time I really do is when I do PvP, or try to be a good soldier for my server (Fort Aspenwood).

27, love the game, Hate the bugs, Hope Anet fixs issues soon. I may complain, but i have no plans of leaving this game. I find too much fun in wat i do.
28 and I love the game.
It does make sense though, at some point in life you start to value your “free” time more and more… you don’t want to keep grinding forever whatever it is to be at the current top.
Though, that’s strange being said from me, who’ve been playing nearly non-stop since launch (I’m on vacation!).
37 here and enjoying most aspects of the game
Fojja – Vyxxi – Nymmra – Mymmra – Champion of Dwayna .. and more

Who remembers the load time on this one makes the WvW wait time look short
I’m 28 and absolutely love this game.
I’m 22 and I love this game. In most MMO’s I feel rushed to get to the level cap, and I feel almost no desire to go out and explore. This game has changed that. I love exploring in this game, and the fact that they reward you for it.
Thank you Arenanet!
30 and liking very much
First MMO in ages that feels fresh
I’m 40 and I am in like with the game. I find that I can play at my leisure and really this suits more of my casual gaming style. I don’t feel like I am tied to the game and have to play it every day. I work a 40 plus hour work week and I enjoy my time offline doing outside activities. The fact I am not paying a monthly subscription is a bonus. I’ve played other mmos and really have lost a lot of interest in spending a lot of my me time dealing with raiding instances or pvp raiding. Unlike another game from the sister company NCSoft there isn’t forced world pvp content that dominates the whole game.
I’m kinda surprised…I’d have guessed a younger ‘average’ age of player. Hardly the first time I’ve been wrong though.
Anyway, 47 and really enjoying the game.
28 here. I didn’t play the first Guild Wars, but a friend convinced me to try this, and I haven’t looked back.
And my Alter-Ego- Kyoryu Gold, Mesmer, Thundering Hero, wielder of the Legendary Meteorlogicus!
27 having a blast
28 and(practically married) with 2 boys. still find time to fully immerse myself and enjoy it! loving every moment!!!
34..Love most things..hate few things..
Early twenties here.
I love GW2! Can’t imagine playing anything else.
almost 23 and loving it
46 and loving it, my son 15, not so much and quit to go back to WoW
41 and loving the game
My husband also loves it and we play together a lot.
Now our daughter wants her own copy too- since she is only 5, she might have to wait a bit
20 and already got wrinkles!
50. Good game but not great. Every map is more or less the same, just different scenery with more or less the same tasks and in general events too.

27 and having fun.

47 this year.
Just to give some of you younger gamers an idea of how bad we had it, here is a link to my first gaming system. Of coarse then, consoles where the only option. I got this system for Christmas when I was 7.
27 here and loving it so far. Personally I think it helps that apart from GW1 and UO years ago I haven’t played any other MMOs so I came into this with very few expectations. Honestly a lot of the stuff people miss from other games doesn’t sound appealing to me.
Well below is a picture of my first gaming machine all 128k of it

That was my first as well. Except it was the 48k version (with the squishy rubber buttons and the rainbow across the corner).
I suppose technically I was too young for it since the machine is 3 years older than I am, but until my dad got a 386 laptop in the early 90’s it was the only computer in the house and so a lot of my earliest gaming memories are tied to that thing. Including having to get my dad to put the tape in and then waiting ages for the game to load up. (Somehow at the time it just made it seem more exciting.)
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
almost 26… game needs fixes here and there, and depending on whether or not Anet can capitalize on these things this game needs will make or break me playing it in the future.
I am 41 ….it seems the more I play the game the better it gets. I do have some criticism on mostly the story line but all in all I am enjoying myself with completion and wvw recently.
35 and really like the game, even though I miss things like puzzling out great hero team builds from GW1.
Since my two kids were born I just don’t have the time anymore to dedicate to “keeping up with the Joneses” in WoW just so I can raid, and the single-player content is not worth the subscription.
I love being able to jump into any random area in GW2 and in minutes find DEs, places to explore and challenges to overcome. My limited time also means I have yet to reach 80 and see the most bugged and crowded places. I’m confident that by the time I get there, ANet will have improved them.
32 and loving every minute.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
41 and enjoying myself immensely.
My 10yr old can’t get enough of the game and it has become the default motivation for him to do other stuff – “You can play IF you do 30 minutes of reading homework” or “… IF your coach says you did really well in your swimming lesson” or, my personal favourite, “… after you get me a beer from the fridge”
I’m 21 and love the game, already played about 500 hours or so.
The only other MMO i kinda miss is the secret world.
52 and happy to be here
22 and I’ve never been more interested in a game ever

27 here, i really love Gw2, but i hope that devs can balance more the game to make it really and action mmorpg with no trinity!
It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill"
