Guild Wars 2

To be honest, I’m the one feeling agonized, tormented and pained whenever I’m on my mesmer. I use this mantra a lot because it’s very good, but it’s also REALLY ANNOYING to have to listen to this shout 10 zillion times an hour.

There’s another signet that gives random boons that I won’t even use because I got so tired of hearing the same endless blather.

Please, PLEASE put a long cooldown on these repetitive shouts or allow us to turn them off? Thanks.

Never played a Mesmer for real, but I agree that some of the repeated speeches should be tweaked to sound less ridiculous.

I on the other hand wouldn’t mind hearing the chant every time I charge the mantra. :X

Any necromancer dropping 5 or more points into death magic agrees.

And with the upcoming balance patch, that skinned rodent will appear more often…

Repetitive sounds from combat is the main reason I have the sound turned off of the game. That and NPCs saying the same thing all the time.

If you do not happen to have a 5.1 speaker setup but set it that way anyway those sort of sound actually goes to a different channel but you’ll still keep the music and most other stuff. Of course that will require your soundcard or motherboard to have 5.1 speaker hardware to give you that option.

I found that out when I accidentally set it to 5.1 speakers and all the sound from shouts went missing. Took a while to figure out what was going on.

They actually significantly reduced the amount of times you hear that ‘mantra’ from before. It was a lot worse prior if I remember right.

1) why isnt this in either audio or the mesmer subforum
2) cant you turn off chat volume?

I hate that trait. Why add insult to injury when you can add injury to injury?

Mantras and the signet of inspiration are the only skills that have any lines at all. I don’t mind if it repeats a thousand times, because that’s literally all we have.

Having an option to turn it off for those who don’t like it would hurt you somehow? Sheesh.

Unwanted constantly-repeated sensory stimulus is a form of torture. And no, choosing between having to listen to this noise or turning off all chat is not sufficient.

Personally I don’t hear anything from my mesmer other than “ATTACK MY TARGET!” or “I’M BURNING!” lol I don’t use mantras though so yeah.

I turn the sound off altogether… of course, I am mostly deaf in real life, so it would sound worse through my electronic ears, I am sure.
